Media entrepreneur Mo Abudu has released a statement on the allegations that she lives in an apartment in the building where the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recovered huge sums of Dollars, Pounds and Naira currencies.
The identity of the owner of the said apartment of monies is not yet known, however allegations have been circulating the media that the apartment (7B) in No. 16, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos belongs to Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, and that the former Rivers governor gave another apartment (7B) to Mo.
Sahara Reporters also reports that Amaechi also debunked the report in an interview, saying he has no connection whatsoever to the property, adding that “his only property in Nigeria (is) in Abuja”.
This is prior to allegations that the apartment belongs to one of People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Chieftain, Anthony Anenih‘s daughter.
It was also alleged that the apartment belonged to Esther Nnamdi-Ogbue a former Managing Director at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) who was sacked over “missing” 130m litres of petrol.
Nnamdi-Ogbue has also debunked the reports.
Former PDP National Chairman, Adamu Muazu, who was said to be the owner of the building has also refuted the reports saying that he built the property with a loan he secured from a bank and sold the individual apartments through an Estate agent.
The statement signed by her lawyers, Streamsowers & Kohn read: While the money has been temporarily forfeited to the federal government following a court order, unconfirmed reports say that the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA) has claimed ownership of the money, saying it was for a covert operation.
