Nigerian leaders, senators also feel the pain caused by current economic recession - Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki says he and other leaders in the country are also feeling the pain caused by the current economic recession.

Saraki said this on Friday while addressing State House correspondents after observing the Jumat prayer with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

While urging all Nigerians to continue to pray for the success of the government, he wished Nigerians, especially the Muslims, a happy Sallah celebration.

The Senate President said, “Once again, as a country in this period, we will continue to pray. On Sunday, the day of Arafat, we offer prayers for our leaders and the President so that we can do what is right, because we feel the pain.

“We know what the country is going through because there is no Nigerian with blood flowing through his veins that will not know that things are difficult now; and we pray that with God’s guidance, He will see us through.”

He, however, promised Nigerians that with their support, the country would overcome all its problems.

Saraki said, “With prayer, insha Allahu, we will overcome it (economic recession). The most important thing is for us to stay together and give the President support and continue to believe in this great country that we all have and be rest assured that we will all weather the storm and scale through together.”

When asked if legislators would resume by September 20, Saraki said, “Once we resume, we will continue to play our own role to ensure that things get better.”

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has transmitted about 3,810 megawatts of electricity generated on Sept.8 by the generation companies to the 11 distribution companies.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nigerian Electricity System Operator (SO) announced this on its website on Thursday.

According to its operational report for Sept. 8, the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) indicates that the power sector hit a peak generation of 3,810.5 megawatts and lowest peak generation of 2,834.40 megawatts.

It will be recalled that the TCN on Aug. 31 sent 2,766 megawatts to the distribution companies.

Shocker!!! EFCC Arrests its Own Driver and Two Others for Fraud...See Details

As the fight against corruption intensifies across Nigeria, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested one of its drivers.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested one of its driver,  Nasiru Isa.

Leadership reports that the driver was arrested for offences bordering on criminal breach of trust, attempted theft, conspiracy and impersonation.

According to the spokesperson of the Commission, Wilson Uwujaren, “the driver, who joined the Commission about 18 months ago, is a member of a criminal syndicate that attempted to break into a sealed property by the EFCC, with the intent of carting away goods suspected to be proceeds of money laundering.

“The syndicate includes a mobile police officer, Corporal Aliyu Ismaila, Abubakar Jibrin, Abdulsalam Ado, Ibrahim Babangida, Reuben Dauda, Hassan Aliyu, Sani Yusuf and Murtala Mohammed.

“Located in the choice area of Garki, Abuja, the property is currently under investigation by the agency, and became a subject of interest, in the aftermath of findings into the N3.9 billion fraud case involving a former Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh (retd). The property was also linked to the wife of the former CDS.”

Uwujaren noted that investigations by EFCC operatives revealed that shortly after the property was sealed, some individuals moved about 12 bags believed to contain items linked to money laundering offence, into the property.

“On August 30, 2016 operatives of the EFCC as part of monitoring activities on the sealed property, had gone to site to execute a search. However, members of the syndicate took to their heels on sighting the operatives of the anti-graft agency.

A carpenter, Yakubu Muhammad, who was hired by the syndicate was left behind and was subsequently arrested by the operatives.

“The carpenter, who has been cooperating with operatives, confessed that he was not in the know of the illicit activity, as he was only brought in by the syndicate to assist with the use of his carpentry tools to break into the property,” Uwujaren explained.

Investigations revealed that one of those in the know about the goods was the brain behind the scheming to steal them.

The syndicate decided they would need to subdue the security man at the property, which would mean they would need to involve security personnel in the syndicate. Subsequently, Isa was contacted.

To further beef up the security aspect of the crime, he also contacted his friend, Ismaila, who came for the “operation” fully armed. In perpetrating the crime, Dauda had posed to be a senior staff with the EFCC, while Jibrin posed as an Intelligence Police officer in the office of the Inspector General’s office.

However, nemesis caught up with them on August 30, 2016 when they were caught in the act of breaking into the property, having successfully overpowered the security guard at the entrance of the property.

They would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.

Serena Williams crashes out of US Open, loses No. 1 ranking

Serena Williams has been sent packing from the US Open, after she was defeated in her semi-final clash against Karolina Pliskova.

The American tennis star was beaten 6-2 7-6 (7-5).

Serena will now have to wait for another chance to claim her 23rd Grand Slam title. The 34-year-old has also lost her number one spot, which she occupied for a record 187 straight weeks.

Pliskova takes on either Caroline Wozniacki or Angelique Kerber in the final.

“I don’t believe it,” Pliskova said afterwards.

“I knew I had the chance to beat anyone if I played my game. I am excited to be in the final and to beat Serena as she is such a great champion.

“Even when she was down a set and break she was still fighting. I had to fight hard to win.”

Williams, who claims she has been held back by a sore knee throughout the tournament, also showered praises on Pliskova.

“Karolina played great today. I think if she had played any less then maybe I would have had a chance,” she said.

“So I think I wasn’t at 100 percent, but I also think she played well. She deserved to win today.”

Purge yourself of hatred for Fayose - Governor's aide advises Falana

Purge yourself of hatred for Fayose - Governor's aide advises Falana

Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka has advised self-professed human rights activist and lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN) to desist from his unwarranted utterances against Governor Ayodele Fayose.

“It is obvious that Falana is driving himself sick because of his personal hatred for Governor Fayose and if care is not taking, his state of mind concerning the governor may graduate from psychology to psychosis one day,” Lere said

Olayinka, who was reacting to comment made by Falana at the maiden edition of Ekitipanupo colloquium in Lagos on Thursday that Governor Fayose was looting funds meant for the development of Ekiti State, said; “Falana should purge himself of his hatred for anything Fayose because he (Fayose) was not the one who scuttled his (Falana) ambition to be governor of Ekiti State.”

He said the self-professed human rights lawyer needed to get the anti-Fayose cataract that has blocked his eyes removed so that he can see all the developmental strides of Governor Fayose both during his first term and his second tenure, adding that; “particularly, all the dualised roads in Ado-Ekiti (except) two were done by Fayose. Today, which of the past governors in Ekiti can match Fayose’s achievements?”

The governor’s spokesperson, who challenged Falana to make public any evidence of Governor Fayose’s stealing of Ekiti State funds, said; “It is strange that Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) could go public with accusation of fraud against someone who has not been pronounced guilty by any court of law and the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee (LPPC) must take particular notice of this,” Olayinka said.

Olayinka, who maintained that Falana was only going about castigating Governor Fayose like he did between 2004 and 2006 because of his ambition to contest the Ekiti State Governorship election in 2018, said he (Falana) was still living under the illusion that he can achieve what he used the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to achieve against Governor Fayose in 2006 ten years after.

He challenged Falana to put pressure on his allies in the EFCC to look into the looting of Ekiti State treasury by the All Progressives Congress (APC) government of Dr Kayode Fayemi.

Olayinka asked; “Is Falana unaware of the diversion of N852, 936,713.92 counterpart fund paid by the Ekiti State Government to access the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) 2012 Marching grant by the Fayemi-led government, which has made it impossible for Ekiti State to access UBEC matching grant for 2013, 2014 and 2015?

“Is Falana not aware of the N25 billion bond and other commercial bank loans that the Fayemi’s government took and misappropriated, on which over N1 billion is being deducted from the State federal allocation now?

“Why did Falana keep silent when Ekiti State treasury was being looted right, left and center by the APC government of Fayemi? Where was Falana when uncompleted projects like the Oba Adejugbe General Hospital and State Pavilion in Ado Ekiti were being commissioned by Fayemi?

“Is Falana’s activism concerning Ekiti State only about Fayose and everything about his government?

“As someone who used to be close to him, my counsel for Daddy Femi Falana is that he should stop thinking that he can realise his governorship ambition in Ekiti State by maligning Governor Peter (the Rock) Ayodele Fayose everywhere he goes. He should rather come to Ekiti and sell himself to the people.”

Facebook co-founder supports Hilary Clinton campaign wth $20m

Facebook co-founder supports Hilary Clinton campaign wth $20m

Hillary Clinton

Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz is committing $20 million to help Hillary Clinton and her Democratic Party in the upcoming US election.

Moskovitz, a Harvard roommate of Mark Zuckerberg who was part of the founding group of the social networking giant, said he and his wife Cari made the decision to pour in millions because “polarization in America today has yielded a race that is about much more than policies and ideas.”

The election “has become a referendum on who we want to be  —  as individuals, as a nation and as a society,” he wrote in a blog post on Medium. Moskovitz said this was the first time he and his wife are endorsing a candidate and donating.

“The Republican Party, and Donald Trump in particular, is running on a zero-sum vision, stressing a false contest between their constituency and the rest of the world,” he wrote.

“We believe their positions, especially on immigration, which purport to improve the lives of Americans, would in practice hurt citizens and noncitizens alike.”

He added that he hopes his efforts “make it a little more likely that Secretary Clinton is able to pursue the agenda she’s outlined, and serve as a signal to the Republican Party that by running this kind of campaign  — one built on fear and hostility  –  and supporting this kind of candidate, they compel people to act in response.”

The donations will go to various political action committees including the Hillary Victory Fund, Democratic congressional groups, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Victory Fund, For Our Future PAC, MoveOn.org, Color Of Change and several nonpartisan voter registration efforts.

Ronaldo launches new fragrance as he prepares for Real Madrid return (VIDEO)

Ronaldo launches new fragrance as he prepares for Real Madrid return (VIDEO)

Cristiano Ronaldo has launched his new fragrance as he prepares to make his return from injury this weekend.

The Portuguese superstar unveiled the product, somewhat unoriginally named 'Cristiano Ronaldo', ahead of Real Madrid's clash with Osasuna on Saturday.

Ronaldo confirmed his fitness having spent the international break in full-speed training after missing the Spanish giants' first two league fixtures, as well as the European Super Cup victory over Sevilla.

Gareth Bale scored twice in Ronaldo's absence on the opening day as Los Blancos cruised to a 3-0 victory at Real Sociedad, before Toni Kroos' late ripsnorter secured a narrow win over Celta Vigo.

Ronaldo posted a cryptic Instagram earlier this week simply titled 'Soon' and, at the launch of his new fragrance on Thursday, he told reporters: "I'm good," when asked if he'd be fit to play against Osasuna at the Bernabeu this weekend.

It is likely to see the first reunion of Madrid's much-vaunted 'BBC' frontline this season, with Karim Benzema also returning from injury to play alongside the Portuguese and Gareth Bale.

France foils another terrorist attack

France foils another terrorist attack

French President Francois Hollande said Friday an attack has been foiled and a terror cell “destroyed” after the discovery of a car laden with gas cylinders in Paris last weekend.

“A group has been destroyed, but there are others,” he warned during a visit to Athens, adding: “An attack has been foiled.”

The French police arrested the boyfriend of one of three women held over the discovery of a car laden with gas cylinders in Paris, sources close to the probe said Friday.

The man, arrested late Thursday, was known to intelligence services for links to radical Islam, the sources said.

His brother is in custody over suspected links to Larossi Abballa, a jihadist who killed a police officer and his girlfriend in a Paris suburb in June, the sources said.

Three female suspects in the probe into the car found near Notre Dame cathedral in central Paris were also arrested Thursday, with Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve saying they were believed to be preparing attacks.

One of the women, a daughter of the car’s owner, was reportedly shot and injured during the arrest. She had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group in a letter, according to a source close to the investigation.

A police source said security services had issued a warning Thursday about a possible attack on train stations in Paris and the suburb where the women lived.

Four people — two brothers and their girlfriends — were already in custody over the car, found just a few hundred metres (yards) from the Notre Dame cathedral, an area always thronged with tourists.

The Dangote Cement Plc, a subsidiary of the Dangote Group, has disclosed its plan to start mining coal at Ankpa, Kogi State, in November.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Dangote Cement, Onne, van der Weijde, said that disruption to the gas supply had deteriorated, adding: “These are challenging times for Nigeria and Dangote Cement but we are taking strong actions that will position the company for continuing success.

Our coal mining initiative will benefit both the company and the Nigerian economy by reducing the need for foreign exchange and helping us to both protect existing jobs and create new ones.

Dangerous Hustlers!!! See Yahoo Boys Caught by Police Fighting Over How to Share Dollars They Scammed Online (Photos)

The Yahoo boys arrested by the police

Policemen in Lagos have caught six internet fraudsters fighting on how to share dollars they duped from an unsuspecting foreigner.

Luck has ran out on seven yahoo boys after they were paraded by the police on Thursday. The men were arrested on Saturday after an aggrieved member of the group 'snitched' on them for trying to cheat him out of the money they scammed.

Henry Ezechie and six others who allegedly specialise in internet fraud are now cooling their heads in police custody.

According to The Nation, the suspects were all arrested after Ezechie who felt cornered in a $7,090 deal he had with Kenneth Eric alias Biggie, petitioned the police alleging that the others were kidnappers and fraudsters.

It was gathered that detectives from the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence (SCIID) Panti-Yaba stormed Eric’s Ajah residence and arrested Stephen Onwunama, Jacob Chukwuka and two others.

Explaining what happened, Ezechie said: “Biggie is the one owing me. We had a $7,090 deal and he refused to give me my 80 percent share of the money and so, I took the payment slip to the police to report.

We do yahoo business (Internet fraud). It was my deal. He is the picker and so, his share is 20 percent.

“Picker is the person who receives the money and sends to Nigeria. He has contacts in America who pick the money and send through money transfer.

I have been doing this business for some years now to survive, but this was my major breakthrough and he refused to give me my money.  It is dating that we do. We use Match, Facebook and other sites,” he said.

Dangerous Hustlers!!! See Yahoo Boys Caught by Police Fighting Over How to Share Dollars They Scammed Online (Photos)

However, Eric who did not deny that he was into Internet fraud said he was not a kidnapper. He also denied defrauding Ezechie, claiming that the deal did not click.

“Henry alleged me. He gave me a transaction of N300,000 which did not click and he went to the police to claim that I was a kidnapper and a fraudster.

He left what we were doing and started talking rubbish. Whoever gave him that receipt he took to the police was just deceiving him. I do Facebook Loto.

We tell victims that if they pay $800 they will win $100,000. Most of our victims are white people because they are greedy,” he said.

Speaking about his involvement, Onwunama denied being a fraudster but said he only came to visit his friend and he was arrested.

“They found nothing on me. They searched my phones and laptop and they didn’t see anything that has to do with fraud in it. I was just visiting my friend and I have spent two weeks in his place.

I was to go back to Asaba on Sunday before I was arrested on Saturday. I don’t know how it is an offence to be a friend to a fraudster,” he claimed.

Chukwuka also denied being a fraudster,  insisting that he only went to Kenneth’s place after he heard the police were there.

“I was at my house when I heard that the police were at Kenneth’s place to arrest him that he was a kidnapper and a fraudster.  So, I went there with my younger brother to explain that I know him.

That he was not a kidnapper. That’s how I was also arrested. I did not do anything wrong. I have never been a criminal in my life,” he said.

Parading the suspects, Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni said they will be charged to court at the completion of investigation.

Unbelievable!!! Ex Kogi Governor's Son Charged With Armed Robbery...Shocking Details

Unbelievable!!! Ex Kogi Governor's Son Charged With Armed Robbery...Shocking Details

Mohammed Audu

In what will come across as a really shocking development, a son of the late Kogi State governor, Audu Abubakar has been charged with armed robbery.

Mohammed Audu, the eldest son of the late Abubakar Mohammed Audu, a former governor of Kogi State, has been charged with armed robbery.

According to The Punch, there was a mild drama and disbelief at the Chief Magistrates’ Court 11, Lokoja, Kogi State on Thursday when Mohammed was charged.

It will be recalled that Mohammed was arrested on Wednesday night when he honoured the invitation of the men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad at the “A” Division Office of the Nigeria Police Force in Lokoja and he was subsequently detained.

The police charged him to court on Thursday.

The Punch reports that apart from armed robbery, other charges in the First Information Report filed by the police against Mohammed were criminal conspiracy, causing mischief and grievous hurt as well as attempted culpable homicide, all contrary to sections 97 (1), 248, 327, 298 and 229 of the Penal Code.

In the said FIR, Mohammed’s uncle, Alhaji Yahaya Audu, who was the complainant in the case, alleged that he was attacked by some hoodlums in his home at Ogbonicha on August 30.

Yahaya said it was by sheer miracle that he escaped from his assailants, who, he said, were shooting sporadically during the attack.

The police prosecutor, Mr. Otowu Gabriel, told the court that though investigation into the matter was still ongoing, findings by the police linked Mohammed and others still at large with Yahaya’s attack.

The lead defence counsel, Mr. Okechukwu Ajunwa, however, contended that there was nothing in the charge that linked his client to the attack.

Ajuwa urged the court to admit his client to bail in line with the provision of Section 36 (5) of the constitution, and in view of the fact that the police were still investigating the case.

He assured the court that his client would neither abscond nor interfere with police investigation if granted bail.

He said his client was a prominent member of the society, who had no reason to abscond, pointing out that Mohammed was not arrested but he voluntarily went to the police station to honour their invitation.

In his response, the prosecutor said he did not wish to oppose the bail application but would allow the court to use its discretion.

After listening to the parties, the Chief Magistrate, Alhassan Hussain, admitted Mohammed to bail, with a directive that he must make himself available for every court session.

The court adjourned till September 29, 2016 for further proceedings in the matter.

Armed Robbery: Basketmouth's Security Man Whisked Away by Police...See What He Did

Armed Robbery: Basketmouth's Security Man Whisked Away by Police...See What He Did

Basketmouth

Men of the Lagos State Police have started investigations into the 2-hour robbery of Nigerian top comedian, Basketmouth at his highbrow Lekki Phase 1 home.

Basketmouth's security man who slipped away during the siege at his apartment by yet to be identified assailants has been arrested by the police.

The arrest, according to the New Telegraph took place yesterday and he has been in detention since.

Two days ago, Basketmouth's close friend and industry colleague, Bovi made the shocking announcement on social media about the armed robbery incident that lasted for 2 hours, 2am to 4am, during which his family were held at gun point and expensive items like phones, two I-pads, shoes, jewellery, CCTV and bags were carted away.

According to investigations, he was robbed barely one hour after he returned from the club. It was gathered that his security guard bolted after he realised that bandits had invaded their home.

A police source said: “He came home about 1:30a.m. and by 2:15a.m., the robbers came. It appeared his home has a central door. He left the door open for his security guard to carry out one or two duties.

It was through that door they came into his home. "But the security guard was arrested because he fled and did not alert the residents or the police.

Attempts to get Basketmouth were abortive as his phone was switched off. The police source, however, said Basketmouth has asked the police to release the security guard because he and his wife trust the man.

It was learnt that police reached Basketmouth’s home about five minutes after they were alerted.

“But the robbers had long gone before we were alerted. When asked why Basketmouth did not call police earlier, he said he did not want a shootout.”

He added that the robbery was reported at the nearest police station. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Dolapo Badmus, confirmed the incident.

She added: “The Commissioner of Police has directed that the case be transferred for further investigations.”

Edo election will clash with Oba’s coronation - Oshiomole warns

Edo election will clash with Oba’s coronation - Oshiomole warns

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has kicked against the postponement of the state governorship election for two weeks or more.

Oshiomhole said the election could be postponed for one week because of the planned coronation of the Oba of Benin slated for September 26.

Speaking on a television programme on Thursday, the governor said the Oba’s coronation is a big event in Edo State.

He said, “We have a big event in Edo on September 26 which is the Oba’s coronation. Before that day, there are other events that must be done. It will not be proper to hold election during that period.

“Why not postpone the election for one week?”

On whether the All Progress Congress (APC) was afraid of defeat, Oshiomhole said the APC defeated the PDP in 16 local government areas in the last election held in the state.

He said his party was ready for the election, adding that Edo is not a war zone.

He added: “We will win the election. The PDP has no credibility in this state.”

We’re inviting Kashamu for alleged assassination plot – Police

We’re inviting Kashamu for alleged assassination plot – Police

Buruji Kashamu

The senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Buruji Kashamu, is being invited by the police to help in their investigation in the allegation of threat to life and assassination plot levelled against him by a member of the House of Representatives (Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North Federal Constituency), Oladipupo Adebutu, the Nigeria Police have said.

This was made known on Thursday by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, in his written address to a counter-affidavit filed in a fundamental rights enforcement suit by Kashamu, marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/647/2016.

The IGP, who was listed as the 1st respondent, faulted the suit.

The explanation by the police came just as a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday declined from issuing any restraining order against the IGP and the Department of State Services from arresting and extraditing Kashamu to the United States to face the trial for alleged links with drugs.

While describing the suit as speculative and an attempt by Kashamu to among others restrain the police from performing its statutory responsibilities of investigating criminal allegations against him, the IGP urged the court to dismiss the suit as it was capable of sending wrong signals.

The IGP in his written address to the counter-affidavit said, “Both the applicant and the 3rd respondent (Adebutu) have made allegations of crime against each other and it is the duty of the 1st respondent (IGP) to investigate and make findings.

This court cannot restrain the 1st respondent from investigating one and leaving the other on the speculation and imagination of the applicant that he will be arrested and transported to America, more so, when the 3rd respondent has not made such allegation against the applicant.

“We urge this court to dismiss the suit as being speculative and portends danger for the criminal justice in Nigeria if persons alleged of committing crime as serious as attempted assassination are shielded from investigation on mere conjecture as being sought in this case.

This will breed anarchy and impunity in Nigeria where the government is doing everything to eliminate cases of politically-motivated assassination.

“This court cannot assume the criminal investigative power of the police to investigate the allegations made against each other in exhibits P1 and P2 (the petitions by Adebutu and Kashamu to the police). It is after the police have performed this role that the court will be called upon to adjudicate on the matter.”

Adebutu had, in his petition dated August 22, alleged among others that Kashamu, who belonged to an opposing faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State, led some 50 thugs to attack him and almost killed him a night before the botched national convention of the PDP in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State.

Kashamu, in his counter-petition dated August 26, denied Adebutu’s allegation, accusing him of being encouraged to smear his image by some chieftains of the PDP in the South-West.

Petrol sells for N400 per litre in Imo

Petrol sells for N400 per litre in Imo

A litre of fuel, yesterday, sold between N300 and N400 in Imo State, due to shut down of filling stations in the state.

The ugly development, which caused confusion among motorists in the morning hours, was said to be as a result of an encounter between a tanker driver and a member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, who allegedly shot the tanker driver, along Elele road, Port Harcourt, Wednesday night.

Irked by the outcome of the scene, the tanker drivers were said to have directed their members to suspend operations until the security operative involved was produced, before they can resume operations. Meanwhile, filling stations in Imo State, have joined as a way of expressing their disapproval.

According to a manager of a filling station along Okigwe road in Imo State, some who have defied the order from above have sold the product at an exorbitant prize.

Newsmen monitored the development in major streets of Douglas, Egbu, Okigwe, Onitsha, Port-Harcourt road and discovered that not all the filling stations were closed at the time of filing this report.

According to him, some who opened for business did not sell at the pump prize of N145 per litre. A bus driver, Kyrian Onyema who spoke to newsmen said: “I came out this morning and saw there was no fuel and when I saw fuel to buy, they were selling at N300 and N400 instead of 145 naira.

This is too much for me.” The situation also affected transport fares especially within Owerri metropolis where citizens had to pay twice of what they used to pay .

Some who came all the way from the rural areas were stranded, describing it as unexpected and said it negatively affected their budget for the day.

Edo governorship election shifted to September 28

Edo governorship election shifted to September 28

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has shifted Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State to Wednesday, September 28.

Announcing the shift in the election, the National Commissioner, Voter Education and Publicity of INEC, Prince Solomon Soyebi, said the Commission’s earlier decision to insist on the September 10 date was because no official communication was received from security agencies.

He said INEC received official communication from security agencies at about 6:00pm on Thursday, drawing the Commission’s attention to the importance of postponing the election following threats of terrorists’ activities in Edo and other states.

He said: “The communication indicates that deployment of security personnel across the country to secure lives and property would over stretch their capacity while at the same time providing adequate security for the election.

“The Commission notes the request of the security agencies and considering the security implications of proceeding with the election, the safety of eligible voters, electoral officials including ad hoc staff and other stakeholders, has decided to reschedule the Edo Governorship election to Wednesday, September 28.”

Terrible!!! Police Department Shamed After 30 Officers Had S*x with Busty Teenage Prostitute (Photo)

Terrible!!! Police Department Shamed After 30 Officers Had S*x with Busty Teenage Prostitute (Photo)

Celeste Guap had sex with as many as 30 police officers

A shameful s*x scandal has left a police department battered after it was revealed that more than 30 officers had s*x with a busty teenage prostitute.

More than 10 police officers have been disgraced and four sacked for having s*x with an underage prostitute. The announcement came on Wednesday after investigation indicted the officers in the shameful s*x scandal.

New York Daily News reports that the Oakland Police Department became the target of a scathing investigation after officials revealed that as many as 30 area cops at some point had s*x with now 19-year-old Celeste Guap.

Guap later admitted she had s*x with at least four officers before she turned 18 — sometimes in exchange for not getting arrested.

An embarrassed Oakland mayor announced the planned disciplinary actions at a Wednesday afternoon press conference.

“I am deeply sorry for the harm this scandal has caused, particularly to community trust,” Mayor Libby Schaaf said.

Schaaf boasted of the “rigorous scope of the investigation,” which reviewed over 78,000 pages of social media postings and 28,000 text messages, according to a Wednesday statement.

Schaaf did not release the names of any of the officers but said the four who have been fired were found to have attempted sexual assault, engaged in lewd conduct in public and assisted in the crime of prostitution.

Seven other officers were suspended without pay for failing to report a violation of law and accessing law enforcement databases for personal gain.

Another officer was ordered to attend counseling and training classes after bringing disrepute to the police department.

Schaaf has previously blasted the department for perpetuating “a toxic macho culture.”

“I am here to run a police department, not a frat house,” she said at a June press conference, visibly frustrated.

The s*x scandal was exposed after an investigation into the suicide of an Oakland officer revealed his and other officers’ involvement with Guap, the daughter of a police dispatcher.
