A bomb explosion has reportedly rocked a polling unit at the WTC Primary School, Enugu, Saturday morning.

WTC Primary School is located at Enugu North, one of the municipal local government areas in the Coal City State.

The Anti-bomb disposal unit just detonated one of the bombs as at the time of filling this report.

Although journalists are unable to gain entrance to the place, a source said the bomb was laden in a Honda Baby Jeep.

UN Donates $60m To Nigeria For Elections

The United Nations has donated the sum of $60m to Nigeria to ensure the success of Nigeria's 2015 general elections. The UN Secretary-General High Level Representative to Nigeria, Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas, disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja yesterday.

He said the UN was interested in Nigeria's elections because the country is too important for the sub-region, the region and the world at large.

Angry passengers who were to fly to Adamawa and Gombe states from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja got so angry and decided to take over the tarmac and sit in protest after their flight was cancelled yesterday night. Some of the passengers said they were at the airport for their 9 am flight but the airline kept delaying the flight until 9 pm when they informed them that the flight had been cancelled.

More details have emerged regarding the final moments of the Germanwings crash..It has been revealed the captain of the Germanwings plane which crashed into the Alps tried to break down the cockpit door with an axe after his co-pilot locked him out.
28 year old Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz who deliberately flew the Airbus A320 into the side of a mountain was said to be depressed after being dumped by his girlfriend..

The cockpit flight recorder showed that the captain repeatedly knocked and tried to get back in as the plane went into its fatal descent, .

However, German newspaper Bild reported this morning that the captain, Patrick Sondenheimer, also tried using an axe to break down the cockpit's armoured door as the plane descended into the Alps.

A spokesman for Germanwings confirmed that an axe was on board the aircraft. Such a tool is 'part of the safety equipment of an A320,' the spokesman told the paper.

But passengers were oblivious to what was happening until 'the last moment when they began to scream..The captain - named by local media as German father-of-two Patrick Sonderheimer - then left the cockpit but found himself locked out when he tried to re-enter.

Mr. Robin said:

'We hear the pilot asking the co-pilot to take over and we hear the sound of a chair being pushed back and a door closing so we assume that the captain went to the toilet or something.

'So the co-pilot is on his own, and it is while he's on his own that the co-pilot is in charge of the plane and uses the flight management system to start the descent of the plane.

'At this altitude, this can only be done voluntarily. We hear several shouts from the captain asking to get in, speaking through the intercom system, but there's no answer from the cockpit.' 'Just before final impact we hear the sound of a first impact. It's believed that the plane may have hit something before the final impact. There is no distress signal or Mayday signal. No answer was received despite numerous calls from the tower.'

A coordinated attack is set to be carried out by the military to liberate Gwoza, Borno State, from Boko Haram captivity as the defence authorities have deployed four attack helicopters and two air force fighter jets to flush out the terrorists in the areas.

A reliable source in the military told our correspondent on Thursday that the attack helicopters and the fighter jets departed Yola, Adamawa State, at about 3pm, heading for Gwoza, the last town in Borno State under the control of terror sect.

Retired international footballer and super model, David Beckham has revealed that while his 16-year-old son, Brooklyn doesn't think he's 'cool', he will gladly raid his wardrobe for outfits to wear.

Speaking about the promotion of the launch of his new fragrance, Instinct: Gold Edition, the former PSG star said:

'My elder child, Brooklyn, he's 16 years old. Every time I go into my wardrobe, there's clothes on the floor, and I'm a really tidy person, so I know he's been in there. He doesn't think I'm too cool at times, but… he comes out in my jeans or my trainers or t-shirts.

'One of the last times Brooklyn thought I was cool was when I got him the Kanye (West) shoes for his birthday, so for about five hours I was cool again, and then he realised I got a pair as well, and it kind of killed it for him,' he added.

Ascon Oil Fire Outbreak: No Life Lost. Fire Contained.

The fire incident at Ascon Oil filling station at Lekki Phase 1 this afternoon has been contained. Contrary to earlier speculations, the main building and the reservoirs are unaffected. The incident emanated from a discharge at the point of offloading product from a tanker, engulfing two tankers and some vehicles parked by the road side.

It was an accident compounded by the current fuel scarcity in the country with ASCON OIL being one of the few stations with a reliable steady supply even in times of scarcity. No life was lost to the incident, the pumps are intact and emergency fire service officers were already on site containing the flames as at the time of this report.

ASCON OIL wishes to reaffirm its commitment to serving its customers even in the face of accidents of this nature for which a company of its pedigree is always prepared. Residents and passers-by showed solidarity with the company as they contributed in no small way to contain the flames.

Ondo state Deputy Governor, Ali Olanusi has defected from PDP to APC just two days to the general elcetions. He announced his defection this morning March 26th in Akure, the state capital.

According to breaking news report, the co-pilot of the doomed Germanwing flight deliberately crashed the plane on March 24th, this is according the chief investigator who just held a press conference explaining what happened. The prosecutor said the Chief pilot asked the co-pilot to take over the controls of the plane so he could go ease himself.

While alone, the co-pilot locked the door and deliberately manipulated the flight monitoring controls to accelerate the descent of the flight. He refused to open the door of the cockpit to the pilot when he returned and began knocking frantically on the cockpit door. The co-pilot used a button to cause the plane to lose altitude and crash. He never spoke a word during the last 10 mins before the plane crashed and didn't respond to air traffic control.

The prosecutor said there was no indication that the co-pilot was unwell. He has been identified as 28 year old Andreas Lubitz from Germany. He is not known to have any links to terrorism or extremists.

The prosecutor said screams from passengers could be heard on the recording in the final seconds. He said they all knew what was about to happen in the last moments and that all 150 souls died instantly.

The Director General of Governor Yuguda Campaign Organisation in Bauchi state, Alhaji Mai'auduga has revealed that over N230 million from the presidency meant to support Bauchi PDP campaign for President Jonathan in the state has gone missing. Davido Headlines Kenya's Afrobeat Festival On Saturday

Davido is being eagerly awaited in Kenya. HKN boss, Davido is currently buzzing in Kenya as his fans in the east African country eagerly await his arrival to headline the 2015 edition of the Afro Beatz Festival.

The event is scheduled to hold on Saturday, March 28, 2015 and will see Davido perform his hit songs alongside acts like Fena, Muthoni DQ, DJ Kafi, Dj Flava and DJ Protege.

However, the Osun State-born music star is not the first Nigerian act to headline the festival in Kenya. The likes of Ice Prince, Olamide, Burna Boy and Iyanya headlined the concert in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 respectively.

The 46-year old singer said: 'He can't use his mouth. He can't eat so I feed him. He's got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day. I do this myself. So I feed my husband, then I feed my kids.'

But the Canadian star insists she hasn't given up hope that he will recover. She told ABC News: 'We are taking life one day at a time. [But] we are choosing to live.'

Nigerian singer, Omawumi Megbele is on her way to completing the last phase of her marital rites. Already pregnant with her second child, the singer is gearing up for her traditional wedding ceremony scheduled for April 18, 2015 in Warri, Delta state.

Recall that she began with her engagement on September 13, 2014 in Delta State, and proceeded with a low-key court wedding on January 16, 2015 at the Ikoyi Registry in Lagos.

The singer is now set to wrap it up with her boo, Tosin Yusuf in 3 weeks.
