Femi Adesina Talks About What Will Happen When Buhari Finally Returns

Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina, said when his boss returns to the country, “filthy dreamers” will hide their heads in shame.

In a piece on Friday, Adesina described the filthy dreamers as those who “despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities”, noting that as the president’s spokesperson, he would never respond to such people.

“President Buhari has been indisposed since the beginning of the year. It is human, and presidents, despite their elevated status, remain human,” Adesina wrote.

“If there is anybody who considers himself 100 percent healthy, or who bears what William
Shakespeare calls ‘a charmed life’, let that person stand up to be identified. All mortals are doomed to sickness, they can recover, and they can die.

“That is the truth that has been internalised by millions of people praying for the recovery of our President. And that is where the shallowness, vacuousness, and hollowness of people who wish the President dead, and carry unfounded rumours, is on stark display.

“Filthy dreamers. They speak evil of dignities, and despise dominion. But we forgive them, for they know not what they do. When President Buhari returns (as God would make him do) where would they hide their faces? In shame.”

He compared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to Shimei, a character in the Bible, going on to describe the party as “evil wishers” who spend “their days conjecturing tragedy for leadership”.

“David had succeeded Saul as king of Israel. And Shimei was from the family of Saul (read, People’s Democratic Party, PDP). Shimei hadn’t forgotten the bloody nose the family of Saul got, when the kingship was taken away from them, and given to David. So when the latter got into a time of travail, no pity at all from people still smarting from bloody noses,” Adesina said.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC), inspired by Muhammadu Buhari, halted the 60-year pipe dream of PDP at the polls in 2015. Has the latter forgotten? No, they won’t forget till forever.

“But so much is the animus, the antipathy towards the president that they wish him dead. While millions of Nigerians are praying, some elements are rejoicing, and imagining evil. But they forget: man is not God, and Jehovah always has the final say. The descendants of Shimei need to learn vital lessons from their forebear.

“President Buhari has tolerated people who have called him all sorts of names in the past two years. If he didn’t move against them directly, he could have allowed many Abishais to move against them, ‘and take off their heads.’

“But not our president, a reformed democrat, a pious man, who has resolved to leave the people suffused by hatred unto God”, Adesina concluded.

It is now getting to three months since President Buhari returned to London for medical follow-up. Amid the persistent and widespread clamour for transparency, many will wonder why Adesina, who has been part of the conspiracy of silence, will not simply respect the wishes of the people and the standards of openness and accountability, by providing accurate information on the true state of health of the president, for which he is receiving treatment funded by the people.

"She Aborted Our Baby!" – Vera Sidika’s Ex-Nigerian Lover Reveals Messy Details

Ex-boyfriend to Kenyan socialite, Vera Sidika, OriYomi Johnson has come forward to allege that the socialite aborted their baby leading to their messy breakup.

Recall that the Nigerian businessman based in Dubai had been all over the Kenyan socialite’s social media page until recently when she took to her social media page to confirm their breakup.

In a new interview granted, OriYomi Johnson opened up on the messy details surrounding his relationship with the Kenyan socialite.

Speaking on how he came about meeting Vera Sidika, the Nigerian businessman revealed that he met her after he requested for her professional escort services.

He further noted that they had on several occasions had unprotected sex.

OriYomi during the interview claimed the socialite got pregnant by him but aborted the fetus on grounds that she suffered miscarriage.
Speaking to Heads Up as published by Ghafla, OriYomi said: “I met Vera for the first time in early September 2016. I contacted her about her services as an escort and she told me that she charges Kes 500,000. We spent five days together and later, we kept in touch.

“We decided to start dating and things were all good until last November when I bumped into her phone only to find out she was chatting with clients from Nigeria and negotiating prices for her services. She also had pictures of herself with a Kenyan politician.

“Drama began in May when we had an argument and she went to Nigeria claiming she was going to abort my baby there. I begged her not to do it, but she went ahead. I was angry and I cut off communication with her. I was shocked when she later claimed she had suffered a miscarriage and that I beat her up. I know my truth and I have never laid my hands on Vera.”

Vera Sidika however denied the accusations stating that she never got pregnant for the Nigerian businessman based in Dubai. She further revealed that she is on a five-year birth control procedure which puts the doubts of pregnancy away.

She said: “My ex is obsessed with me and that is why he has not moved on. I have not aborted any child. I have an implant for five years, so I cannot get pregnant.”

I Couldn’t Stop Robbery Because Of My Ailing Mother - Suspect

A notorious armed robber suspect in Rivers State, Ogadinma Amadi, has said that he became an unrepentant criminal because he was looking for money for the treatment of his mother currently suffering from stroke.

Amadi, explained that though he had denounced cultism, he could not stop armed robbery because of his sick mother.

The suspect was one of the seven persons paraded by the Rumuolumeni Police Division in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, for their involvement in various offences, including stealing and armed robbery. A native of Owerri, Imo State, the suspect, was described by the police as a serial armed robber.

Amadi added that he had decided to seek the assistance of a pastor to deliver him from the spirit of armed robbery. “Yes! I used to be a cultist, but I have been able to leave cultism. I was into armed robbery before I was arrested by the police.

I was not able to stop armed robbery because I needed money to get my mother treated. My mother has stroke.

“If I am freed, I will stop armed robbery. My aim is to meet a pastor, who will show me the way after delivering me from the spirit of stealing,” Amadi stressed.

The suspect was said to have attacked a businessman with a machete before he (businessman) was rushed to a hospital.

Speaking on Amadi’s capture, the Divisional Police Officer of Rumuolumeni Police Division, Mr. Kingsley Chukwueggu, said the suspect was arrested along Mgbodohia-Nkpo road in Rumuoloumeni on July 5, 2017.

Chukwueggu, who described the suspect as a serial armed robber and habitual criminal, recalled that Amadi was always inflicting machete cut injuries on his victims before taking away their belongings.

He explained that the suspect had stolen generators from many residents of Obio/Akpor before he was finally caught, adding that his accomplice, one Ikechukwu Chukwu, who usually helped the suspect to dispose stolen generators, was also arrested.

“Ogadinma Amadi was first arrested for cultism on February 2, 2014, and charged to court. He was released and on the 16th of July, 2014, he was arrested again for armed robbery.

“After he regained freedom, this time around, he went for armed robbery and was caught during their operation. Before his final arrest, he almost killed a man, who went into coma for several days,” the DPO said.

He, however, promised that Amadi would be charged to court after the end of further investigation.

I Want To Attend Rallies, Grant Press Interviews, Nnamdi Kanu Fights Bail Conditions

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mr. Namdi Kanu, has filed a motion to fight the bail conditions granted to him by the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Kanu asked the court, where he is being prosecuted along with others on treasonable felony charges, to vary the conditions of the bail which it had granted him.

Justice Binta Nyako, had in her ruling delivered on April 25, 2017, granted bail to Kanu, but dismissed the separate bail applications filed by his co-defendants – the National Coordinator of IPOB, Mr. Chidiebere Onwudiwe; an IPOB member, Benjamin Madubugwu; and a former field maintenance engineer seconded to MTN, David Nwawuisi.

Recently, after the court delivered its ruling on the defendants’ bail applications, the prosecuting counsel, Mr. Magaji Labaran, amended the charges to include another co-defendant, Bright Chimezie.

In his application filed on July 1, 2017, Kanu maintained that parts of the bail conditions prohibiting him from being seen in a crowd exceeding 10 persons, granting press interviews and holding or attending rallies, violated his constitutional rights.

His lawyer, Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor,  stated in the motion that the undesirable bail terms and conditions were contained in paragraphs 2(vii) and (viii) of the court’s ruling, granting bail to his client on April 25.

Anchored on Sections 6(6), 36(5), 39, 40, and 42 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), as well as Section 165 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015, the motion is therefore, seeking, “An order of this honourable court varying the bail conditions given to the first defendant/applicant on April 25, 2017, by outrightly (sic) vacating paragraph 2(vii) and (viii) in the said order, which stipulates ‘that the first defendant should not be seen in a crowd exceeding 10 people; and that the defendant should not grant any interviews, hold or attend any rallies, respectively.”

Ejiofor argued that the bail conditions were excessive, while maintaining that by virtue of Section 36(5) of the 1999 Constitution, his client was presumed innocent.

He contended that the part of the condition barring him from being seen in a crowd exceeding 10 people contradicted his client’s right to freedom of association, and peaceful assembly, as guaranteed by Section 40 of the Constitution.

He added that the part of the conditions barring Kanu from granting press interviews constituted an infringement of the defendant’s right to freedom of expression provided under Section 39 of the Constitution.

The lawyer stated, “Section 36(5) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as (amended) presume as innocent citizens charged with criminal offence until guilt is proved.

“Paragraph 2(vii) in the order, which stipulates that the first defendant/applicant cannot be seen in a crowd exceeding 10 people, contradicts the applicant’s right to freedom of association, and peaceful assembly granted by Section 40 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, (as amended).

“Section 39 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as (amended) provides for citizens’ rights to freedom of expression and press.

“The bail conditions granted the first defendant/applicant, particularly conditions in paragraph 2(vii) and (viii) in the said order, clearly discriminated against the first defendant/applicant, and subjected him to certain disabilities and restrictions.”

In breach of the bail conditions being challenged by Kanu, the IPOB leader had granted press interviews and even recently led and addressed rallies of huge crowds against the holding of governorship election in Anambra State.

The charges against the defendants included conspiracy and treasonable felony by allegedly conspiring among themselves to broadcast on Radio Biafra agitation for the secession of Republic of Biafra from Nigeria.

They were also accused of improper importation of goods and illegal possession of firearms.

Among the charges was also publication of defamatory matter by allegedly referring to the then President-elect, Maj-Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and now President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as “a paedophile, a terrorist,  an idiot, and an embodiment of evil” in a radio broadcast on April 28, 2015.

The trial has been adjourned until October 17.

The prosecution has yet to file its response to the motion.

Husband Beats Wife To Death In Ogun

A 40-year-old man, Femi Adebowale, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for beating his wife, Kuburat, 37, to death. The incident happened on Monday at their residence in Agbado area of the state.

According to a statement yesterday by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on the day of the incident, the deceased had asked her husband for the money she would spend on her younger brother’s naming ceremony.

Femi gave her N10,000 but the deceased insisted that the money was not enough, which led to a fight
that resulted in her death, the statement said.

Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested following a complaint from the deceased’s younger brother, Shakiru Alao, who reported at Agbado Division that his elder sister had been beaten to death by the husband over allegation of adultery.

Oyeyemi added, “In the suspect’s statement, he alleged that the deceased had been involving in act of infidelity for quite some time to the extent that she was dating their next door neighbour.

Meanwhile the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the case should be transferred to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and possible prosecution of the suspect.

Ministry Workers, Properties Thrown Out Over N7m Debt

Properties worth millions of naira were yesterday thrown out of offices in Calabar as a court bailiff carried out an eviction order in the Cross River State Office of the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.

Apart from properties, at least 40 workers were also ejected from their offices in the complex while it was raining, following N7m rent that the owner of the building was allegedly being owed. The building is along Parliamentary Road in the state capital.

Some confused workers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the situation as a disgrace to the ministry.

Items such as office furniture, television sets, printers, computers, air conditioners, documents and other vital office equipment were left unprotected in the rain.

An unidentified bailiff from a magistrate’s court in Calabar, who carried out the exercise as early as 8am, said the court order was carried out because of the failure of the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja to pay rents over the years.

The bailiff carried out the eviction order in the presence of security agents despite the downpour.

He said, “We never anticipated that there would be rainfall. We had no option but to carry out the court order because the tenants defaulted. They could not dispute the fact that they owed over N7m rent for some years now and they have not shown any seriousness in offsetting the bill; that was why this order was sought.”

Efforts to speak with the coordinator in charge of the state office of the ministry, Mr. Francis Ukpo, were unsuccessful as he was said to have gone to the federal secretariat along the Murtala Mohammed Highway to secure another office accommodation.

But an aggrieved member of staff, who was drenched, lamented that running costs for state offices were being paid into private accounts instead of the office account.

“There are a lot of sharp practices taking place in the ministry. We have been having issues in the running of state offices lately. You cannot imagine that running costs for state offices are being paid into private accounts. Who knows if such frauds led to the ministry’s inability to pay rents? This is a disgrace and some properties will surely get damaged in this rain,” he said.

'My Marriage To Chris Attoh Is Fine' - Damilola Adegbite

Married to Ghanaian actor, Chris Attoh, delectable Damilola Adegbite has granted an interview to put a stop to her rumoured breakup marriage saying everything is under control. According to Damilola they were rumours and nothing more. It will be recalled that Damilola herself sparked off the rumours when she refused to wish herself and husband well on the day of their anniversary, what she usually does and even though her husband kept posting photos of them, she made no reaction. What
she told saturday beats below...

“Part of the price that we pay for being famous is the rumour they peddle against us. Some people believe that they have an opinion about your personal life and anyone can just say anything that they like at any time. I don’t know where the rumour of my marriage crisis emanated from; neither do I know how it started but we don’t pay attention to things like that. We are used to such talks and we have been in this industry for years, so you can throw anything you want at me or talk about my career. I don’t know where that came from but my marriage is fine.

“People react to things differently but I laughed when I saw the news. From my post on Instagram, people could see that I was having a ball with the rumour. I probably had a bowl of popcorn in my hand as I was reading the comments and we laughed about it. You just need to understand that in this industry, the more you look, the less you see. Sometimes, the things you think you know are not true and vice versa. People just need to realise that everybody has their personal lives and we would rather keep it that way,” she said.

Photos: Ibadan Communities Where People Live In Fear Of ‘Military’ Bullets

Adeolu Olutayo was happy to move into his own house in Idi-Omo area of Ibadan about 10 years ago. It was one of the best moments of his life.

Although, the 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Odogbo, was some 15 minutes’ drive from his neighbourhoood, he never gave it any thought.

Then two months into the blissful feeling of being his own landlord, Olutayo heard an announcement on radio that a shooting practice would start in the barracks. He still did not bother about the news, thinking it was strictly a military business that had nothing to do with the public.

But Olutayo’s perception quickly changed when a stray bullet from the military barracks almost hit a labourer he had employed to fix some things in his house.

He has been living in fear since he moved into the house, even though, a decade has passed. According to him, many of those who built houses in the area were not aware that they would be exposing themselves to stray bullets before moving in.

“The villagers, who are the land owners, have always known about it but they don’t tell those who come to buy land here in order to keep the value of the land high. I moved into my house in November 2007, but two months later, there was an announcement that a shooting practice would start in the barracks.

“We did not know the implication of the announcement until bullets nearly hit a labourer in my house. At the time, the community was just growing, so there were few houses here.

“By the time the exercise was repeated six months later, more houses had been hit by bullets. Many people on motorcycles, vehicles and at bus stops were also hit by bullets. Owners of the houses affected picked the bullets and visited the then General Officer Commanding in the barracks and he came to inspect the damage.

“A lawyer we engaged was able to persuade the army to stop the shooting practice at the cantonment and later, we heard that it had been taken to a location in Abeokuta. A fence was also erected to demarcate the cantonment from the civilian community,” he said.

However, last week, the problem returned and the residents of the communities around the cantonment started losing sleep over the issue again.

“There was calm until last week when the shooting began again. Two people have been victims in one week. On Tuesday, bullets rained on my roof again,” Olutayo added with palpable fear.

Showing our correspondent two expended bullets that had hit his house, Olutayo said he had offered praises to God daily for sparing his young family, that include three underage children.

On July 12, 2017, a private school in Ajobo village, which adjoins Idi-Omo, was forced to close down when bullets pierced through the roof and the ceiling of one of the classrooms, hitting a four-year-old pupil of nursery one in the head.

At the time of the incident, the pupils in the school were taking their third term examination and according to their teachers, some of them fled in all directions in panic. Like the belief of every other person in the community, the management of the school was of the opinion that the bullet was fired from the shooting range of the Army cantonment not far away from the community. Their conviction was based on regular incidents of stray bullets flying into the community whenever the army is holding range classification to train its soldiers.

Three other piercings were noticed on the walls of the school, while three bullets were found on the ground and kept as evidence. Luckily, the pupil escaped death with perhaps an indelible scar after spending about a week in hospital.

One of the school’s senior members of staff, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “The children were taking their third term examination when a bullet hit a nursery one pupil in his class. It hit his head and he was covered in blood. We rushed him to the military hospital where he received treatment.

“The shot was fired from the shooting range of the cantonment. We are aware that the shooting classification was going on when it happened. We are also aware that for a few years, such exercise was done somewhere else when residents complained that bullets from the military premises were hitting several people during the exercise.”

Ajobo is one of the four communities affected by stray bullets allegedly fired from the cantonment’s shooting range and indeed, the pupil was not the first or the last victim of the military exercise. Other communities adjoining the cantonment are Omilabu, Idi-Omo and Bola. In fact, almost every house owner in these communities is in possession of expended bullets that had at one time or the other hit his or her house.

Five days after bullets strayed into the school, a woman was hit in the stomach by another stray bullet in Omilabu community. She had returned from work and was at the backyard of her house when the bullet pierced her tummy.

Like the pupil, she was rushed to the military hospital in the cantonment, which also happens to be the nearest health facility that can handle such cases. Therefore, the military hospital has become a rescue home to stray bullet victims in the affected communities; but according to the residents, victims are also taken to the hospital to establish proof that bullets from the cantonment are threats to their lives.

Punch correspondent, who visited the communities while the shooting practice was going on, observed that in some of the houses allegedly hit by bullets, there were holes in the roofs and on the walls.

Holes had also been created in haphazard fashion in the roof of a mosque beside the house of the woman recently hit by a stray bullet, while a house that had yet to be occupied some metres away, had its windows shattered.

Asked if the community leaders approached the military authority to complain about the latest development, Olutayo said a meeting was held on Tuesday where the representatives of the cantonment said it was impossible for bullets to stray from the barracks into the communities.

Another residence of Omilabu, Alhaja Amudat Aiki, said the norm in the area is that when residents hear the sound of gunshots from the barracks, they know it is time to find a secure abode for fear of being hit.

“When we hear the sound of gunshots, we position ourselves strategically to be safe. If you are driving and you hear the sound, you must park and find a secure place if you don’t want to be hit. Many bullets have dropped on many beds, so we live in fear. There are completed houses that are not occupied because owners care for their safety. Some residents have also packed out of the community,” she said.

Punch correspondent also learnt that the school where a two-year-old pupil was hit by a bullet had been temporarily shut down after the military announced that it was extending the shooting exercise by a few more days.

One of the school’s teachers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, recalled the events of the sad day a pupil was almost killed by a stray bullet.

Describing the event as traumatic for the little kids, the teacher recalled shielding pupils in her classroom from any bullet that might be coming in.

“There was chaos and fear everywhere; I had to use my body to protect the children, even though, I had no bulletproof myself. But I figured that I was the best chance they had to survive should any stray bullet be heading for them. Parents ran to the school to fetch their children.

“After the incident, the military authorities stopped the shooting exercise and the school sent messages to parents that it was safe to bring their children to school the following Monday.

“That Monday, by 9am, we heard the soldiers had started their shooting practice again, so the school authorities quickly sent messages to the parents to pick up their children. Since then, the school has been shut and will only open when its authorities are sure that pupils will not be in danger,” the source said.

A leader in one of the communities, who also preferred anonymity, said the military only made attempt to cover up for what he described as crime against people living in the communities each time the leaders had meetings with representatives of the cantonment. He said a similar thing happened on Tuesday after a woman was hit in the stomach by a bullet.

He said, “We have not been able to meet the GOC and I don’t know why he has chosen to ignore us. This is an issue that has to do with the lives of people. You can hear the gun shots even as we speak. We were at the range during the meeting we had with them on Tuesday and we told them that the bullets were fired from the cantonment. But we were told that the bullets from the guns they were using could not travel as far as the community. That is the theory but the truth is that our lives are threatened.

“When we visited the range, we saw clearly that when the target board is raised and a bullet misses, it will likely stray into the communities. From a higher position where we stood, we could clearly view the communities. The representative of the army said it was possible that saboteurs were trying to discredit the military. We showed them the same kind of bullets fired into the communities at the time of the shooting practice but they said they were not their bullets. I will like the military to engage a ballistic expert to examine the bullets.”

Bullets not from shooting exercise –Military

When asked about the coincidence in the time of the shooting exercise and the time that bullets strayed into the communities, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations at the division, Col. Ezindu Idima, said enough security measures had been put in place at the shooting range to ensure safety of the lives of people living close to the cantonment.

According to him, there is no agreement between the military and the communities to stop using the range as being speculated, stressing that the range was not used for a period of time because of other reasons and not because of any agreement between the communities and the military. Idima insisted that the weapons being used by the soldiers at the range had no capacity to go beyond the cantonment.

“Leaders of the communities visited the cantonment on Tuesday and we took them to the field so that they could see what we were doing and understand our position on this issue. They were able to see the security measures installed by the Nigerian Army to prevent bullets from straying into their communities.

“There is considerable distance of about three kilometres between the place we use and the next community, while the effective range of the weapon we use is about 400 metres. In other words, this is the range it can travel to have effect on humans. While they were with us, we fired shots at the target board and asked them to call people in the community to ascertain if bullets actually strayed into the communities but nothing happened.”

Idima also disputed claims that the bullets found in the communities were from the cantonment.

“The war heads they brought were probably fired many years ago. They are not fresh. We use AK 47 guns and any ballistic expert will tell you that the war heads are not from us. There is the probability that someone is cashing in on our activity to cause rancour. None of our bullets hit a pupil or any woman recently. People should realise that if we do not train, we cannot defend the nation effectively. The Nigerian Army takes safety seriously. When we stopped using the range, it was not because of any agreement with the communities,” Ezindu said.

O.J. Simpson has been moved to a special housing area in Lovelock Correctional Center to protect him from inmates possibly looking to harm him in order to make a name for themselves, TMZ Sports has learned.

After Simpson was granted parole during Thursday's hearing, Simpson was moved out of the general population and into confined housing, a rep for the prison says.

There's no specific threat tho on O.J.'s life but several inmates in the prison have life sentences "and nothing to lose" and may be "opportunists" looking to hurt or kill Simpson before he leaves to raise
their own profile.

The prison rep said O.J. did not request the special protection but explained, "It's in the best interest of O.J. and the prison to make sure that he's safe and comes out in one piece."

O.J. is expected to be released on October 1.

"I Have Been Through Depression & It Didn't Win" -Tboss Says In Reaction To Chester Bennington's Death Through Sucide

Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington sadly committed suicide at his home in LA yesterday. BBN's Tboss reacted to the sad news via her Instagram page today, revealing that she once suffered from depression but overcame. According to her;

The news of the untimely demise of Chester Bennington hit me really hard because I have been a super fan since forever, his voice & songs really touched my soul & helped get me through a lot. That's why I'm pained that he didn't have anybody to help get him through his own pain. Confession Confession- Yes I have been through depression & ?? it didn't win. Confession Confession- it's really only just a bad patch not a bad life. Yes you will eventually get out of it. Confession Confession- I'm way much stronger that even I give myself credit for, at this point I don't even get hurt by people's words! I just be looking at you like- See this one trying to take away my smile?. Hissss abeg abeg??‍??. How??? People need to realize that being mean to others honestly doesn't profit them in any way! It's not gonna make you richer, prettier or a better person so be kind to each other, we r all dealing with our demons- Don't be the reason a person's demon finally wins the battle. #liveandletlive #letloverule #bekindtooneanother #smile #jesusdontlikeugly #putGodfirst Bottomline- I love Peaches & I'm a juicy one- Deal with it.
