This is MTN's reaction to 08030004900 killer number

08030004900 killer number
There have been allegations that MTN numbers, 08030004900 and 08066699666, belong to some serial killers, which they have been using to take peoples lives when calls are received through them.

There are also claims that when calls are received through them, the receiver jumps into the Lagos Lagoon.
A message on WhatsApp read: “08030004600 and 08066699666: Warning: Do not pick any of these numbers. They are severe killer numbers, which was reported to have been killing people across the country. SAVE LIVES!”

What to do when in abusive relationship –Joke Silva, actress

Image result for joke silva

Ageless beauty and mother of three, Joke Silva has come a long way. For the past 32 years, she has been married to veteran actor, Olu Jacobs and their marriage stands as one of the most successful in an industry where marriages crash regularly.
Entertainer caught up with the founder of Lufodo Acting Academy during the press conference to unveil Light in The Dark, a movie which addresses domestic violence last week in Lagos, and the actress opened up on her current project as well as how to handle an abusive relationship among others.
What is the secret of your ageless looks?
(Laughter) I think it is always keeping busy. And talking about being busy, I am working on a production called ‘Heartbeat The Musical’ which is part of the Lagos @ 50 celebrations. It is happening on the 25th, 26th and 27th of May at Terra Culture. I am always working, whether it is putting together a show or getting Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts on track. I think it helps you not to be focused on those things that may not be too right with your life.  Maybe your account could be in the red but because you are working you don’t have time to start thinking about that, so I think when you are not thinking too much about things that are not so important but focusing on the things that are right, it helps the wrinkles not appearing. But for us as black people, we don’t wrinkle easily.
How does Heartbeat The Musical fit into Lagos @ 50?
Heartbeat The Musical is a story about Lagos. And it tells the story of how everybody comes from everywhere to Lagos. For most people, Lagos is the London, the New York; the Mecca of their dreams, the land that flows with milk and honey and the streets paved with gold. So, everybody comes to Lagos for their own share of the Lagos dream and then some of them fall through the cracks in this incredible and bustling sea of humanity, and then you find a young person who says ‘wait a minute, these politicians should do this and that but they are not doing it, come on let us put them right’.  And then, they get violent but violence is not the answer to such things. But in going through that method, people never remember that there will always be collateral damage and your loved ones could be the ones that will be the collateral damage. It is in experiencing such, that the young man realises there has to be another way to effect the change; there must be another way to get the leaders have a paradigm shift and think about the populace, there must be another way to get the populace to have a paradigm shift and think about the nation. That is what Heartbeat The Musical is all about. It is a story of hope and we are talking about the heartbeat of Nigeria, which is Lagos. Lagos is Nigeria in microcosm. It was written by Tosin Osundeko. When we showed it in November and December, one of the constant comments we kept getting was that ‘is there hope?’ And for me that is key. Once we have hope, once we believe that it is possible, there is nothing we can’t achieve.
Let’s talk about Light in The Dark. Why did you take up the script?
Wow! That was because of the depth of the script. I like when we celebrate the human spirit; I am talking about the resilience of the human spirit, the ability to conquer situations. That is what Light in The Dark does.
A while ago, you and your husband celebrated 32 years of marriage. What advice do you have for couples regarding break-ups?
People say marriages are breaking here and there, fine. But the reason marriages are breaking up in Nollywood is because we are out there in the public domain. There are so many marriages breaking up among lawyers, bankers and doctors, and when you compare that to the number of marriages breaking up in Nollywood, you find that it is a very small percentage. The fact is that social media is now our reality and it is having a lot of effect on the industry. So, when people say to me, ‘what advise are you giving younger people?’ My dear, that is what Light in The Dark is also about. The issue is that if someone is experiencing violence, male or female, leave the marriage. Leave it because when you die the other person continues living. For me, whether the abuse is emotional or physical, please leave; and let each party get counseling, then you can come back together if counseling works, but if not, don’t come back.
So, when people talk about ‘advice’ I don’t know what advice to give because I am not walking with their shoes, honestly. You tell somebody ‘have patience.’ What if that person has been having patience, patience and patience? Did I have patience in mine? Yes. Did I lose my temper? Actually, I think my son will say that I have a very short fuse. So, I think what is key to any marriage is grace. Pray for the Lord to be the third person in your marriage. Pray for his grace to have wisdom, staying power, grace to have listening anointing. It is not just listening to what is being said but to everything, the body language, the way things are said. The grace to have respect for each other is key. The grace to want to have what is best for your partner is important. If you want your partner to succeed, if that is your focus, then you too will succeed. And it is a two-way traffic. It is not the woman continuously wanting the husband to succeed or the husband wanting the  wife to succeed alone; it has to be simultaneous. If the two of you are working together, the sky is the limit.

“I was scared my 2nd class degree would mean nothing” – RMD talks about Genesis of movie career

Richard Mofe-Damijo aka RMD is thankful. Last night, the legendary actor stepped out for the premiere of Omoni Oboli’s Okafor’s Law which he featured in, and also the final episode of the series Hush where he played a major role.

Afterwards, the legendary actor took to his Instagram to look back at how far he has come and also thank loyal fans who have followed his journey since he graduated from the university. “What can be more for an actor than to rule TV land and moviedom in one night? It can only be God,” he said.

“This is me saying thank you to all my fans for keeping faith with me since that day in late June 1983 when I graduated from the University of Benin not sure if a 2nd class upper division degree would mean anything later to me.”

RMD has starred in over a hundred movies. At a time, when he took a break from the industry and strayed into politics; his contributions stood out among his peers. When he returned, he continued from where he stopped as though he never left. Unlike many acts like Nnenna Nwabueze-Okonta who played ‘Merit’ in the classic, Living in Bondage, who still struggle to get back to the spotlight. Now, the actor is looking back and he has his fans to thank for their tenacious belief in him. “Many waters under the bridge later I am still here. It’s just so humbling. I am encouraged to keep going. I know together we can conquer more territories,” he said.

Read his full note:

Today is one of those moments an actor lives for and I am eternally thankful and grateful to God and everyone that has contributed to my being an actor today. On television tonight at 8pm on 151 Africa magic showcase the grand finale of arguably Africa's No 1 telenovela or tv series HUSH is showing. Then nation wide Okafor's Law, perhaps Nigeria's most controversial movie to date is showing after much brouhaha. What can be more for an actor than to rule TV land and moviedom in one night? It can only be God. This is me saying thank you to all my fans for keeping faith with me since that day in late June 1983 when I graduated from the University of Benin not sure if a 2nd class upper division degree would mean anything later to me. Many waters under the bridge later I am still here. It's just so humbling. I am encouraged to keep going. I know together we can conquer more territories.

I dreamt I’d become rich by raping toddler –Man who defiled seven-month-old step daughter

Image result for Man who defiled seven-month-old step daughter
At 57 years old, Magaji Dansale, found himself in police custody for no other reason than allegation of raping his seven-month-old step-daughter.
But when he was brought before journalists by the Katsina State Police Command on Friday, the reason he gave for raping the toddler was shocking.

Dansale said he violated the baby girl because of his desperation to become rich in life.
The petty trader told journalists at the police headquarters in Katsina where he and some other suspects were paraded, that he had several dreams in which he became rich once he had sexual intercourse with a toddler.
The father of six said in Hausa, “I had sexual intercourse with the baby girl because I saw it in several dreams I had that it was the way for me to become successful in life. I dreamt that all my suffering in life would end. This is why I did it.
“I truly believed that if I had sexual intercourse with her, all my predicaments would vanish. I would not have to run around to make ends meet anymore.”
Dansale said he married the mother of the baby girl following the death of his first wife who had six children for him.
He however kept mum when asked whether he was remorseful for his action.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Usman Abdullahi, said Dansale would be charged to court soon.
The child is still on admission at the Turai Umar Yar’Aadua Maternity and Children Hospital, Katsina, where she is receiving treatment.
She was admitted to hospital on Wednesday after a referral from General Hospital, Malumfashi, where doctors confirmed that she had suffered critical injury due to the rape.
The victim’s biological father, Ibrahim Nuhu, told journalists at the premises of the hospital in Katsina on Thursday that he had separated from the victim’s mother before she married Dansale. He explained that the incident occurred at Dangaski village in the Musawa Local Government Area of the state.
Ibrahim who also spoke in Hausa, said sometime last week, the baby’s mother approached him, complaining that the baby had pile which made her to bleed heavily through her private part and anus.
He said he then took the child to the General Hospital, Malumfashi where the doctors there insisted that the police must be involved as it was a rape case which had severely injured her and not piles as claimed by the mother.
The baby was consequently referred to the Turai Umar Yar’Adua Maternity and Children Hospital, Katsina, for further treatment while the police were called in.
The baby’s mother told journalists on Thursday, that sometime last week, she woke up from an unusual long sleep to find traces of blood and liquid in the baby’s private parts.
According to her, she assumed that the baby had piles. She added that the following day she made the observation, the suspect gave her some clothes to wash, among which was a trousers stained with blood and semen.
Dansale was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.

Our children are still expecting their dad’s return' - Wife of murdered Jumia delivery man

Blessing, wife of late Chukwuma Eleje, a delivery agent with Jumia, an online marketing store, who was murdered and thrown into a septic tank, has said that their four children were still expecting the return of their father.

Mrs. Eleje, recalled how her husband promised the children that he was coming back home after the day’s work with a lot of goodies for them, lamenting that her 38-year-old husband was no more.

It will be recalled that Chukwuma was killed by three assailants at Shell Location, Mgbuoba, Off Ada George Road, Port Harcourt, where he had gone to deliver two phones.

The suspected killers, Sodienye Mbatumukeke, Excel Naabe and Joy Eluwa, had since been arrested by operatives of the Rivers State Police Command. But the widow, who spoke on a Port Harcourt-based radio station, Nigeria Info, explained that the
deceased was just an ordinary man with four children.

Wondering how she would cope, Mrs. Eleje added that her husband had promised to pay their rent before he was murdered.
“He left for work telling us that he would be back. He promised the children by telling them he would buy a lot of goodies for them. Up till now, they are believing that their daddy is coming back.
“How will I cope with school fees? Our rent has expired and the landlord gave us one week and now the one week has expired.
“Now, I am hearing my husband is dead; how am I going to cope? He was just an ordinary man with a wife and four children,” she cried.
On how, she got the news of her husband’s death, the widow explained that people were gathering at her compound and were telling her “sorry”, adding that she did not understand what they meant by that until it became clear that she had lost her spouse
“I did not know that the news had spread everywhere. My family and I were not aware until when I saw people gathering in my house telling me sorry. I was surprised, I didn’t understand why they were telling me sorry,” she said.

Saturday daily devotional by Pastor E. A. Adeboye (Open Heavens 1 April 2017) – The Healing Name

Topic: The Healing Name [Saturday 1, April 2017]

Memorise: And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; - Mark 16:17

Read: Acts 3:1-9 (KJV)

1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3 Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

4 And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5 And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

Bible in One Year: Leviticus 1-3, Jeremiah 5:18-6:5

MESSAGE:

There are many great things the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ can do in our lives, one of which is healing. It is unfortunate that many believers today, like Gehazi of old, prefer financial and material gains to the power in the Name of Jesus. They trade the precious Name of Jesus Christ for the ephemeral things of life. It is also highly regrettable that this divinely exalted Name, which God the Father gave to His Son, is being despised by many today. Philippians 2:9-10 says this about the Name:

9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;”

Here’s good news for you: every kind of sickness in this world is included among the things that bow at the mention of the Name of Jesus.

Today’s Bible reading shows us one of the reasons why we need to give pre-eminence to the Name of Jesus Christ. Peter and John, two of the Lord’s apostles, were entering the temple at the hour of prayer, and a lame man (who was born lame) looked up to them for alms. Although they had no money, but because they knew and cherished the Name, they used its healing power to give what money could not buy to this man. In Acts 3:6b, Peter said:

“Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

The result of this effective use of the Healing Name is that a lame man, who never walked all his life, began to walk and to leap! I therefore command every storm raging in your life to be still in Jesus’ Name. Have doctors written off your case? I command that sickness to leave you alone right now in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

Beloved of God, I am introducing the Healing Name to you today, and that Name is Jesus. If you have not encountered the owner of that Name, may I introduce Him to you as the Saviour of the spirit, soul and body. Through His Name, He can deliver your ailing body from the grip of any terminal disease. All you need to do is to accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour. Believe He can heal you, and He will surely heal you by His Name.

Prayer Point: Jesus the Healer, I believe in Your Healing Name; please have mercy on me and heal me today through Your Name.
