SHOCKER!! Gunmen In Military Uniform Kidnap Three Lagos Estate Landlords

SHOCKER!! Gunmen In Military Uniform Kidnap Three Lagos Estate Landlords

There is tension in New Haven Estate, Igbelaju, in the Iba area of Lagos State, after some gunmen in military uniform abducted three landlords in the estate.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the gunmen attacked the estate on Saturday and on Monday.

Two of the landlords were reportedly abducted while going to their workplaces.

It was gathered that in the attack on Saturday, a woman, identified only as Mrs. Nwoche, was abducted from her residence and had yet to be released.

Our correspondent learnt that as residents grappled with the shock, the gunmen on Monday at about 11am, reportedly waylaid two other landlords driving out of the estate and ordered them to the creek at gunpoint.

While one of the victims was identified only as Mr. Chima, the name of the other had yet to be ascertained.

The matter was said to have been reported at the Ojo Police Division, which sent operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, to comb the area.
When PUNCH Metro visited the area on Wednesday, it was gathered that the three landlords had yet to be found.

Although most of the estate residents were unwilling to comment on the incident, a commercial motorcyclist, who gave his name only as Ebuka, showed our correspondent the narrow bushy path through which the gunmen reportedly sneaked into the estate.

He said, “I did not witness the Saturday incident because it was around 9pm and people only heard some gunshots and ran inside their houses. The gunmen went away with a woman who stayed in a luxury apartment. She has yet to return.

“On Monday, the hoodlums came out in the morning. You would think they were soldiers who came to inspect the area. I saw them in military uniform standing near the plank bridge and holding a rifle.

“I was passing by with a passenger, but I saw that one of them held a pump-action rifle. Seconds later, they stopped two men who were driving out of the estate. The men were in different Sport Utility Vehicles, but were behind each other.

“They ordered them to come out and follow them. That was how they led the victims away into the swamp. We have yet to see either of them. Everyone is afraid. We suspect that the hoodlums are the militants who escaped from the military bombardments of the creeks.”

A worker on a building site, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “I was going to the site when I saw the soldiers standing by the bridge. They looked as if they had come to make an arrest.

“No one knew they were kidnappers. The family members of the victims have not been contacted. They are still in the dark. Some residents have fled from the estate for fear of abduction.

“Policemen in three vans came after the incident to patrol the area. Theyhave been patrolling the estate since Monday, but the abducted landlords have yet to return.”

Our correspondent observed an armoured tank belonging to the RRS driving into the swamp as he was leaving the estate.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the attack. She said operatives of the command were already on a rescue mission.

She said, “The command received the report that some men in military camouflage came under the guise of making an arrest and whisked away a landlord.

“Effort is on to ensure his release and subsequent arrest of the suspects.”

Innoson motors may sack workers over forex scarcity

Innoson motors may sack workers over forex scarcity

Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), an indigenous auto company, may soon be forced to cut its workforce over the persistent forex scarcity.

According to Innocent Chukwuma, chief executive officer of Nigeria’s major domestic vehicle assembly firm, the company is unable to purchase imported components, hence its flagship white buses will have no engine for now.

According to Reuters, Innoson is struggling to survive over its inability to secure the needed parts from Japan, China and Germany.

“We are waiting for the imported items for which there is a forex issue,” Chukwuma was quoted to have said while disclosing that production has also stopped.

In spite of the dour situation of things, he expressed confidence in the ability of the federal government to come to the rescue of the car manufacturing company.

“I believe they are doing something but if they can’t do anything we’ll lay off some workers,” Chukwuma added.

Innoson’s product line includes heavy duty vehicles, middle and high-level buses.

APC must win Ondo governorship election – Tinubu

APC must win Ondo governorship election – Tinubu

Ahmed Bola Tinubu

Ahead of the upcoming Ondo State Governorship election, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ahmed Bola Tinubu has declared that the party “must win” the poll.

In a statement he released yesterday, the former Lagos State governor urged aspirants to work towards a common goal, stressing that they all know what is at stake.

Tinubu said all those participating in the party’s Saturday’s primary election stood the chance of winning, but that a “champion” would emerge in the end and they are expected to rally round the winner.

The statement reads in part, “The APC must win the coming election and restore democracy and the virtues of public service to the seat of governance in the state. This is what the people desire and deserve. They have waited patiently. Now is the time to answer their call. This is our duty as a party and as people who care about their fellow man.

“The APC must go into the governorship as united in focus and purpose. All else is secondary to this objective. The journey to reestablishing governance for the people and for posterity begins with the primary this Saturday.

“Our mission is too important and too humane to allow ourselves to be divided or sidetracked. We must remember what is truly at stake.

“The process leading up to the primary has been robust and energetic. We have the good fortune of having numerous renown and able party members seek the nomination. This has led to keen competition. During such tight competition, tensions always mount and often-harsh things are spoken.

“But this back and forth, this committed dialogue, is an integral part of the democratic process. And it is this process that we have enshrined and shall cherish in this party.”

Sheriff vows not to recognize Markafi, says “no Caretaker Committee in PDP constitution”

Sheriff vows not to recognize Markafi, says “no Caretaker Committee in PDP constitution”

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, factional National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, yesterday said there is nothing like caretaker committee for the party at the national level.

Sheriff, in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Mallam Inuwa Bwala, insisted that the Caretaker Committee-led by “Senator Ahmed Makarfi is an illegal body and cannot organise the convention of the party.”

While faulting the BoT’s position granting recognition to the caretaker committee, Sheriff maintained that, “there is no provision for a caretaker at the national level in the PDP constitution.

“A competent court has pronounced it (the caretaker committee) as illegal, while affirming Sheriff as the chairman.

“Because of these, references should not even be made to the caretaker committee in looking for solutions to the PDP crisis.”

The former Borno state governor accused the BoT of taking sides in the party crisis, which he said involved two sides within the same party.

Sheriff said as much as he respected the BoT members, “most of whom are very credible Nigerians”, they should not allow themselves to be dragged into fighting a war which would benefit individuals.

Stop dragging RCCG into your unholy, dirty politics – Pastor Ize-Iyamu warns Oshiomhole

Stop dragging RCCG into your unholy, dirty politics – Pastor Ize-Iyamu warns Oshiomhole

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate in the upcoming governorship election in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has admonished the state Governor, Adams Oshiomole and his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, against dragging the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, into what he described as “their dirty and unholy politics.”

Obaseki said this while reacting to a statement credited to Osiomhole’s Chief Press Secretary, Peter Okhiria, saying he converted a church building to campaign office.

Oshiomhole’s Chief Press Secretary, was alleged to have accused the RCCG Edo Region 13 headquarters, Trinity Sanctuary, in Benin City, Edo State, of converting the church building into the campaign office of Pastor Ize-Iyamu.

Ize-Iyamu is a senior pastor with one of the zonal headquarters based in Benin.

Speaking through his campaign organisation, Ize- Iyamu said, ‘’Governor Adams Oshiomhole and his puppet APC candidate, Godwin Obaseki, should not drag RCCG into their dirty, unholy politics.

“The allegation is a cheap blackmail from those who want to bring the name of the church into disrepute, and they will surely fail.”

Ize-Iyamu, however, said Christian leaders cannot sit back and allow the state continue to wallow in untold hardship and deteriorating socio-political, cultural and economic institutions caused by the ‘’unholy and anti-people” policies of Oshiomhole/APC-led government.

Speaking further, Ize-Iyamu said, ‘’Why can’t pastors be part of our efforts to rescue Edo State? Just yesterday, three more pensioners in Edo state died while others are presently languishing in penury and different ailments following the long wait for their arrears of pension and gratuities after retirement from active service.”

Niger to build 70 Health Centres in 10 months, plans 24-hour medical services

Sani Bello

The Niger State government is to build 70 new Primary Healthcare Centres this fiscal year under its Primary Healthcare Under one Roof (PHCUOR) programme, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has disclosed.

The centres form the first phase of the 274 of such centres to offer 24 hours comprehensive medical service in each of the wards in the state.

Sani Bello disclosed this while commissioning one of the four MTN Foundation Maternal Ward Support Projects in the state at General Hospital, Lapai, headquarters of Lapai Local Government area of the state.

“In the next one year, at least 70 PHCOUR service facilities would be rolled out across Niger State through massive renovation, equipping and manpower improvement,” Sani Bello disclosed.

He said the neglect of the Primary Healthcare over the years informed the resolve of his administration to give priority attention to this level of healthcare delivery with a view to reducing significantly maternal and childhood mortality in the state.

The governor further said that in order to meet the need of qualitative primary healthcare delivery in the state, his administration recently carried out free eye surgeries to 500 people and general surgeries for 2500 people in all the 25 local government areas of the state.

Sani Bello assured that his administration was committed to providing qualitative, comprehensive and affordable healthcare, hence the holistic attention given to the manpower and welfare need of the sector as well as the massive infrastructural improvement of various hospitals in the state.

The governor, however, said that government’s efforts at transforming the healthcare sector would require private sector and public spirited individual partnership.

Commending MTN Foundation, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mustapha Jibril said his ministry and the donor had engaged in mutually beneficial partnership in the last three years.

He said that General Hospitals in Lapai, New Bussa, Mokwa and Suleja were benefiting from the Maternal Ward Support Project in the state.

Alleged abuse of office: CSNAC charges Buhari to sack Chief of Staff

Alleged abuse of office: CSNAC charges Buhari to sack Chief of Staff

Abba Kyari

The Civil Society Network Against Corruption, CSNAC, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sack his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, for alleged abuse of office.

In a petition sent to President Buhari and signed by the coalition’s Chairman, Olanrewaju Suraju, the group said the several cases of abuse by Kyari should be curbed as it conflicted with the current government’s anti-corruption drive.

The group took the cue of its petition from the report of August 16, 2016 by Saharareporters, an online newspaper, where it was alleged how Kyari is using his office in the Presidency to further his personal interests.

The petition reads: “The letter received by Saharareporters reportedly showed how Mr. Kyari prospects on behalf of Valiant Offshore Contractors Limited, a private business that is being fronted by the major owner of SeaWolf Oilfield Services Limited (single biggest debtor of the Asset Management Company of Nigeria (AMCON)); owned by Nigerian businessmen Uwamu Adolor, Okulola Remi (who is close to former President Olusegun Obasanjo), Rasheed Mahey Rafindadi, Wessels Alwyn, Odunlami Remi, Waziri Ibrahim Dahiru and Oduntan Adetunji.

“Sequel to the N160 billion debt owed to the First Bank of Nigeria by that Seawolf Limited, two of its oil rigs were seized by AMCON and parked at Lagos Marina.

Despite this situation, Mr. Kyari was alleged to have deployed his influence and exalted office in representing the company as a Special Purpose Vehicle to immediately commence businesses with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) where he is also a board member.

“Thus, Mr. Kyari is clearly abusing his membership of the NNPC board to take advantage for personal interest. He is alleged to be piling enormous pressure on AMCON to give Seawolf a clean bill of health in order for the company, a major debtor of the Nigerian Government, to resume business as a drilling services company with the NNPC without meeting its debt obligation to AMCON.”

We are not involved in the struggle for Biafra – Ohanaeze Youths

We are not involved in the struggle for Biafra – Ohanaeze Youths

Socio-political group, the Ohaneze Youth Council, OYC, has declared that it is not involved in pro-Biafra agitation and was not mobilising Igbos for anybody.

This was as it denied responsibility for the crises currently rocking the pro-Biafra group, Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, which had led to the emergence of two splinter groups, Reformed Indigenous People of Biafra, RE-IPOB, and the Re-branded Indigenous People of Biafra, TRIPOB.

Insinuations in certain quarters fingered some top officials of OYC as being responsible for the crises.

But the group in a statement said that neither the entire body nor its President General, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro are responsible for the crises.

The statement which was signed by chairman of all the chairmen of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth wing, Mazi Okemiri Alex, described the report linking OYC to IPOB crises as a “naked lie.”

The statement reads, “The attention of the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide is drawn to a publication in some media which claimed that the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro is behind the break away faction of IPOB called TRIPOB.

“This is a naked lie. Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide has nothing to do with TRIPOB neither is it involved in the crisis rocking IPOB. We warned one Elliot Uko and the spokesperson of IPOB Clifford Iroanya to stop blackmailing the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide or we will declare them enemies of Igbo.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide is the apex Igbo Youth body and does not involve itself in any pro-Biafra agitation and is not mobilizing for anybody including President Buhari on October 1, 2016, but will be at the forefront of calling for the release of all Biafran detainees.

“We believe in restructuring of the country according to 2014 Constitutional conference and call on President Buhari to look into it. We advise IPOB to please, not involve Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth council worldwide in their propaganda.”

Budget padding: Jibrin drags Dogara, others before Buhari’s committee on corruption

Budget padding: Jibrin drags Dogara, others before Buhari’s committee on corruption

A former Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has met with the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption over alleged corrupt practices involving some principal officers on the budget process.

He told newsmen after the meeting on Wednesday in Abuja that he took his allegations against Speaker Yakubu Dogara, his deputy Yusuf Lasun, Miniority leader, Leo Ogor, among others to the committee to ensure that justice was done.

He said: “Most importantly, to ensure that a very comprehensive reform is carried out in the House of Representatives, clean up the budgeting system and the activities of the house in terms of oversight and investigation.

“Beyond the House, the country will be the biggest beneficiary and the winner at the end of the day.”

Jibrin pointed out that he made several revelations in response to questions raised by the committee members, adding that “I have expected that they will resign and submit themselves to investigations.

“Of course, the Leader of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, has led by example by submitting himself to the police for investigation.”

Jibrin said he wanted Nigerians to understand that the whole thing was not only about Dogara, “but about changing the system and reforming the House of Representatives.

“If some members of the House or Nigerians feel that Dogara should continue to call himself the number four citizen of this country, so be it.

“I have done my own part of it, I have exposed corruption.

“I have submitted petitions to the anti-corruption agencies, which is within my control and in the control of other members of the National Assembly that believes in this course.”

APGA raises alarm over fake logo

APGA raises alarm over fake logo

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has raised an alarm over what it described as a deliberate plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to truncate and discredit the electoral process.

In a statement by the Director General of the Osaro Onaiwu Campaign Organization, Mr. Patrick Anethua, the party alleged that some members of the APC have printed and distributed some documents showing parties’ initials, and logos to confuse voters.

Anethua said the identical logos were been circulated to confuse APGA members and supporters on poll day.

He said: “ This is furtherance of the overwhelming popularity and support being enjoyed by APGA in Edo state who currently have the favour of the electorates.

“The original logo of the CPP is the human palm and that of the APGA is the cock.

FG approves more external borrowing in a bid to turn ailing economy around

FG approves more external borrowing in a bid to turn ailing economy around

Mrs. Kemi Adeosun

The Federal Executive Council, FEC yesterday, approved external three-year rolling borrowing plan. According to Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, the borrowing plan, which will be transmitted to the National Assembly for its approval, will be concessional loans with interest rates at 1.25 percent, with four to seven year moratorium, 20 years to pay.

The Minister disclosed that the borrowings would come from agencies such as the World Bank, African Development Bank, China EXIM Bank, and other development agencies like Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Eurobonds.

The declaration followed on the heels of the submission by the National Bureau of Statistics that the economy was technically in a recession.

But at the end of the Federal Executive Council Meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, admitted that though it was the worst possible economic season for Nigeria, the government was not confused about what to do in order to salvage the situation in the interest of Nigerians. Adeosun said, “It’s the worst possible time for us.

Are we confused? Absolutely not. How are we going to get ourselves out of this recession? One, we must make sure that we diversify our economy.” She cited the case of the Ministry of Solid Minerals, which had already procured a World Bank loan of $150million to enable it to strengthen its capacity and generate revenue from the sector.

Education Minister, Adamu Adamu, on his part, revealed that FEC approved contracts for the construction International House for the University of Ibadan (UI), which is a post-graduate hall, at the cost of N1.302 billion with a completion period of 44 weeks.

Also approved was contract for the reconstruction of the University of Lagos (UNILAG.) new library at the cost of N1.935 billion.

PDP calls for Buhari’s immediate resignation

PDP calls for Buhari’s immediate resignation

Muhammadu Buhari

The Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday railed against President Muhammadu Buhari, accusing his administration of incompetence, and saying he should step down after the nation slipped into economic recession.

“We join all well meaning Nigerians to call on Mr. Buhari to resign if he is unable to reverse the disastrous economic decline he has brought on Nigerians,” the party said hours after figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics confirmed that Nigeria had slipped into recession.

The NBS said Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product contracted by 2.06 per cent, marking the first major recession in 29 years for Africa’s largest economy.

Analysts have long predicted that Nigeria’s economy was heading for a recession amid a shrinking naira and diminishing revenues occasioned by low crude prices.

The downward spiral has led to an increase in the number of Nigerians struggling to eke out a living, fueling fears of an outbreak of social unrest.

Behavioural economic experts and religious leaders recently raised concerns about the dangers of leaving the country’s expanding youth population without means of livelihood for too long.

The PDP in its statement Wednesday saw the crisis as a direct consequence of Mr. Buhari’s “ineptitude and incompetent” approach to economic management which were a rehash of the “archaic and incoherent economic policies” he similarly pursued as the head of a military junta between 1983 and 1985.

“Nothing better showcases the absolute ineptitude and incompetence of the Muhammadu Buhari administration than the GDP, Inflation and unemployment figures released by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics today,” the PDP said in a statement signed by Deji Adeyanju, its director of new media.

“The result of these indices is that Nigeria is in its worst economic state for 29 years —dating back to 1987 when the nation had to take harsh steps to recover from President Buhari’s policies of 1984-85.”

“As with 1984-85, companies are fleeing our shores in droves. Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) recently stated that 272 companies have shut down in the past one year,” Mr. Adeyanju said.

Mr. Adeyanju also quoted key aspects of the detailed data as released by the NBS on Wednesday and compared them with what they were before his party was voted out in 2015 after a 16-year streak.

“Portfolio investment declined to an estimated $245.3m in Q2 2016. This represents a 9.5% from $271.0m in Q1 2016 & is a far cry from $2.81bn in Q2 2015,” Mr. Adeyanju said. “A total of 4,580,602 people have lost their jobs since May 29, 2015.”

The Buhari administration, in a statement Wednesday afternoon, acknowledged the gloomy economic data, but assured of improvements in an apparent bid to assuage the fears of Nigerians.

“The just released GDP figures for the 2016 second quarter by the National Bureau of Statistics while confirming a temporary decline, has (sic) also indicated an (sic) hopeful expectation in the country’s economic trajectory,” the State House said in a statement signed by Laolu Akande.
The administration attributed the negative results to the activities of oil vandals and said other aspects of the economy were yielding intended results, indicating that Mr. Buhari might not be ready to accept growing calls for a new policy direction.

“A close look at the data shows that this outcome was mostly due to a sharp contraction in the oil sector due to huge losses of crude oil production as a result of vandalisation and sabotage.

“However, the rest of the Q2 data is beginning to tell a different story. There was growth in the agricultural and solid minerals sectors which are the areas in which the Federal Government has placed particular priority,” Mr. Akande said.

But the PDP, in its statement, said it was unimpressed by the administration’s explanations, saying it had observed a worrisome trend in the polity.

“Our dismay is worsened by the fact that every sphere of the Nigerian socio-political space (ranging from the conduct of elections, human rights, respect for the rule of law, security, technology, health etc) is negatively affected by the Buhari administration,” Mr. Adeyanju said.

Return my son’s corpse to me, Oduah’s ex-hubby demands

Stella Oduah

Lt. Col. Satchie Emmanuel Etoromi (Rtd.), the bereaved father of late Maxwell Etoromi, has pleaded with his ex-wife, Senator Stella Oduah, to give his son’s corpse to him for him to be properly buried.

Etoromi, in a letter he dispatched to the traditional ruler of Akili Ozizor, Ogbaru in Anambra state, Igwe D.O Oduah, said the former Minister of Aviation, who had been in custody of their son, did not tell him of his death, adding that he only read about it from the social media.

He, however, pleaded with the royal father to prevail on his ex-wife to release his son’s corpse to him so he could be buried in Warri, his paternal home.

“I am surprised to see in the internet stories that my son Maxwell Omabuwa Temisaren Obiechina Wereyesigha Toritseju Chinedu Etoromi who Stella delivered for us on 14th March 1988 at 05.00 hour in St Mary`s Hospital Ugboroke Warri is dead.

“Up till now Stella has not told me my son died in her custody. There is rumour that my son will be buried in Akili Ozizor.  That is not acceptable at all. My son must be brought to me in Warri for internment.

“Stella should also bring back Eyituoyo Felix Kenneth Oritsetimeyin Ikechukwu Etoromi who was delivered on 1st August 1989 at 0 5.30 hour in St Mary`s Hospital Ugboroke Warri whom she took away from our home over twenty years ago,” the letter also read.

Okupe: The PDP currently being paddled is heading for the rocks

Okupe: The PDP currently being paddled is heading for the rocks

Doyin Okupe, senior special assistant to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) being paddled by its board of trustees (BoT) is heading for the rocks.

Reacting to the recommendations of the party’s BoT towards resolving the PDP crisis, Okupe said the board lacked the wherewithal to restore sanity to the opposition party.

He said its decisions had shown that the party is bereft of “real politicians”.

“Once again the leadership of the PDP as represented by the highly esteemed members of the BoT has manifested an inexplicable and tragic error of judgement in handling the current crisis in the party,” he wrote on Facebook.

“This sad commentary from the BoT is a sign of the total absence of real politicians in our political framework. Politicians with deftness, sagacity, skillful capabilities have become rare in our parties and political institutions.

“What we now have is a demoralising relic of the fake creations and impostors who have cornered the political arena in the last two decades.

“Politicians who cannot talk with one another or to the electorate; politicians who do not negotiate or mediate; politicians who must win and be on the winning side always; politicians who will talk from both sides of their mouths and whose positions change as frequently as the availability of financial sponsors for different reasons and rationale; politicians who do not stand for anything.

“Our governors have failed us; our institutional leaders have failed us; our structures can no longer sustain us, but the Almighty God, who was with this party at the beginning, before greed, arrogance, complacency, and political folly and carelessness derailed us, is still alive to lift us out of this self-created political dungeon.”

He accused the board of taking signs with a faction of the party, wondering the role it has played in the forthcoming Edo and Ondo governorship elections.

“The BoT is the conscience of the party, and the ultimate mediator in all internal squabbles. Now, the same BoT publicly takes a stand with one side in a crisis clearly bereft of any solution,” he said.

“After two unsuccessful conventions, with members of the BoT fully participating in all and even as major contender for political offices, the BoT chairman gleefully announces plans and venue of another convention without paying due attention to the insurmountable problems which caused the previous two to fail.

“The next two gubernatorial elections are few weeks away, and we have two candidates in each state, yet our leaders are comfortable taking sides.

“The more I look at this the more I am convinced that the boat being paddled by these our leaders is heading for the rocks. No wonder chief do-or-die and Bode George are singing to high heavens that the current national chairman, Senator Sheriff is the best thing that ever happened to PDP.

“I appeal to all ordinary men and women and people, like me who have devoted the last 16/17odd years to nurturing the PDP in various capacities and states to come together quickly, take our destinies in our hands and decide what we shall do with PDP.

“Let all men who fear God, and of good will link up and team together for this salvage mission. Our people and followers deserve it and our nascent democracy needs it. Our nation will prosper once again with this political platform.”

Dilma Rousseff, president of Brazil, impeached for budget ‘padding’

Dilma Rousseff, president of Brazil, impeached for budget ‘padding’

President Dilma Rousseff

Brazil’s Senate has voted to remove President Dilma Rousseff from office for manipulating the budget, similar to allegations of budget padding at the Nigerian lower chamber.

Rousseff is said to have manipulated the country’s budget to make her look good in an election year, by signing six decrees that increased — padded the 2015 federal spending in non-compliance with the annual budget law and without approval of the congress.

The vote puts an end to her party’s 13 years in power, despite her denial of all the allegations against her.

According to BBC, 51 senators voted in favour of her impeachment and 20 against, meeting the two-thirds majority needed to remove her from the presidency.

Acting President Michel Temer will serve out Rousseff’s term, which ends on January 1, 2019.

Now if you are a man of 31-40, 51-60 and above, and you experience

If any of these situations relates to you, and you are on this page right now, congratulations! Because I can confidently assure that you‘ve, at last, come to the solution you’ve being looking for ever since.

I am telling you this from research backed experience and the results and testimonies gotten from more than 300 men who at one point in their lives have struggled with various kinds of sexual dysfunctions.

What is Sexual Dysfunction?

Sexual dysfunction refers to a problem occurring during any phase of the sexual response cycle that prevents the individual or couple from experiencing satisfaction from the sexual activity.

The sexual response cycle traditionally includes excitement, plateau, orgasm, and resolution. Desire and arousal are both part of the excitement phase of the sexual response.

When Your Sexual Glands Function Well, You as a Man are at Your Best – Vital, Healthy and Capable of Sexual Pleasure.

What Are The Types Of Sexual Dysfunction?

Sexual dysfunction generally is classified into four categories:

Desire disorders: lack of sexual desire or interest in sex

Arousal disorders: inability to become physically aroused or excited during sexual activity (weak erection)

Orgasm disorders: delay or absence of orgasm (climax)

Pain disorders: pain during intercourse

What Are The Symptoms Of Sexual Dysfunction?

In men:

Inability to achieve or maintain an erection suitable for intercourse (erectile dysfunction)

Absent or delayed ejaculation despite adequate sexual stimulation (retarded ejaculation)

Inability to control the timing of ejaculation (early or premature ejaculation)

Weakness after ejaculation, (inability to go for more than one round of sex)

One thing you should understand from the above is you are not actually suffering from erectile dysfunction, retarded ejaculation or premature ejaculation.

The problem you actually haveis Sexual Dysfunction. Weak erection, premature ejaculation, and others are just the signs/symptoms that you are suffering from something called sexual dysfunction.

Now tell me how the problem will not persist if you continue aiming to resolve the symptoms (premature ejaculation, retarded ejaculation, erectile dysfunction and inability to go for more than a round of sex) when the actual problem (Sexual Dysfunction) remains.

This is analogous to having your kitchen soaked with water running from a tap. Instead of switching off the tap and then mop your kitchen dry, you are mopping the water on the kitchen floor while the tap remains opened.

You will agree with me that no matter how faster you mop the water on the floor it will continue flowing until you turn off the tab which is the source of the problem.

Your Sexual Problem Is A Wake-Up Call To Get Informed, Take Offensive Action And Find A New Path.

September 1 Solar Eclipse: Don’t watch eclipse with naked eyes, Official warns

September 1 Solar Eclipse: Don’t watch eclipse with naked eyes, Official warns

An educationist, Mr Olajide Olunoiki, on Wednesday warned Lagos residents to avoid watching the annular eclipse of the sun with naked eyes on Thursday.

Olunoiki, a Director in the Lagos State Ministry of Education, told newsmen that sighting the eclipse was injurious to naked eyes.

He said that solar eclipse glasses should be worn to observe the image.

Solar eclipses occur when the moon comes between the earth and the sun, lining up with the sun as seen by spectators on Earth. In a total solar eclipse, the moon lines up perfectly with the sun and blocks out all light. But in an annular eclipse, the moon does not completely cover the sun.

He said that parents must ensure children are kept indoors from sighting the eclipse with naked eyes.

“Eclipse is injurious to naked eyes, we strongly advice that parents should keep their children and wards from observing the eclipse without solar eye filters.

“This is because children are very curious and it is advisable to get them the eye filters before the eclipse or keep them away during the eclipse time. “There is no cure to injured eyes and it is sinister,’’ he said.

“If you don’t want to go out, stay indoors tomorrow.

“The working class should also avoid looking at the eclipse without the solar glasses for those who can afford it,’’ he said. Olunoiki said the level of obscurity in Lagos will be 65.8 per cent with Abuja and Brass having the highest obscurity at 76 per cent.

“Akwa Ibom will experience 74.5 per cent obscurity; it varies from state to state. “Obscurity is the level of darkness that will occur during the eclipse and we appeal that children should be guided.

“I don’t advice putting water in a bowl to observe the eclipse. “According to data, it will be close to three hours of image movement.

“The solar eclipse glasses are said to filter the rays from the sun and the annular solar eclipse is expected to last between 7.14 a.m. to 9.50 a.m.,’’ Olunoiki said.

Rev. Joseph Tofiji-Bankole, the Chaplain of Legem Nursery and Primary School, Ikate, Surulere, told pressmen that the his organisation was only supporting the campaign by the government for eye protection during the eclipse.

“Without the eclipse eye glasses, it is a bad thing to view the eclipse unprotected. “When people view the eclipse without the glasses, they may not know the harm it has caused to their eyes until a week or two after,’’ he said.

He said that children should be protected from the effects because they were curious and did not know the implication of viewing the eclipse with naked eyes.

“We ask that children be educated on the use of eclipse eye glasses to view the eclipse and learn something from it.

“It may lead to interest in science and astronomy,’’ he said adding that the last eclipse happened in 2006 and that the producers of the glasses in France were also spreading the message.

A pair of solar eclipse eye glasses costs about N400.

Chelsea and PSG agree £32m fee for David Luiz

Chelsea and PSG agree £32m fee for David Luiz

David Luiz

Chelsea are now close to sealing the return of central defender David Luiz after agreeing a fee of around £32million with Paris Saint-Germain.

Personal terms are not thought to be an issue, which leaves very little to be done to get the deal over the line ahead of tonight’s deadline.

Luiz is expected to arrive in London to take a medical, although the move could even be confirmed before that takes place.

Head coach Antonio Conte this afternoon gave the green light on the Luiz deal and negotiations progressed quickly from there.

Chelsea have also been talking to Valencia about taking Aymen Abdennour on loan for the rest of the season.

But it seems any temporary deal for Abdennour will be put on ice in anticipation of Luiz moving back to Stamford Bridge.

There is hunger in the land, listen to our cries - Fayose tells Buhari

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the cries of Nigerians and stop seeing those with different opinion from his as threats to his government.

The governor said that, “there is hunger in the land, Nigerians are hungry, they are suffering and the president should rather listen to those who are more knowledgeable than him in terms of management of the country’s economy instead of seeing them as threats.”

He added that the reactions of the president and his men to divergent opinions had become predictable.

“This style of sending the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, Department of State Services and other agencies of the federal government against anyone that offers suggestions on how to rescue the country from total collapse is not in the best interest of Nigeria and its suffering masses.

Aliko Dangote's net worth depreciates by 35%

Richest man in Africa and Chairman, Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has lost $5.4 billion in its fortune since this year, according to data compiled by Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Using an average exchange rate of N250 to a dollar, Dangote’s $5.4 billion loss translates to about N1.35 trillion.

The Bloomberg Billionaires Index blamed the sharp drop in Dangote’s networth on the slump in commodities prices and the devaluation of the naira in June by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

The report put Dangote’s net worth at $9.9 billion, a 35 per cent drop since January 2016.

However, the report stated that Africa’s second-wealthiest person, South African Christo Wiese, trails Dangote by $2.8 billion with his fortune climbing 12 per cent this year on the index.

Nigerian inflation accelerated to the highest rate in almost 11 years in July, complicating the task of the central bank in an economy which is at risk of contracting this year.

See What Is Happening to Robbers Who Spent Six Hours in Victim’s House (Photo)

See What Is Happening to Robbers Who Spent Six Hours in Victim’s House (Photo)

The Anti-Robbery Squad of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, has arrested a four-man gang that had allegedly been terrorising residents of the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

Punch Metro learnt that the suspects – Akin Ayotunde, Isaac Ogbonna, Sola Dede and Sodiq Lawal – specialized in lurking around houses at night and switching off their victims’ generators before attacking them.

They, however, met their Waterloo last Thursday when they were arrested after invading the apartment of one Bello Hakeem in the Igbe area.

Punch was told that the suspects spent six hours in the victim’s duplex and went away with his car, generator, money, phones, Automated Teller Machine cards, modems, laptops and cash.

They also stole his wife’s jewellery and withdrew N100,000 using one of the ATM cards.

Hakeem told a Punch correspondent that around 11.09pm on Tuesday, he observed that his generator suddenly went off and he asked two of his children to go outside and fix the problem.

“About five minutes after they left, they were forced back into the house by four men, who were armed with knives.

“They ordered us to cooperate with them. They searched the house and made away with three laptops, six phones, three ATM cards, a new 3.5KVA generator, one 75alms battery, two modems, jewellery, cash, and my Toyota Corolla.

They held my family hostage for six hours before leaving at about 6am the next day,” he added.

Hakeem, an environmental scientist, said he reported the incident at the Ijede Police Station, adding that the suspects were able to withdraw N100,000 from his First Bank account before he deactivated all the stolen ATM cards.

He said two days after the incident, a friend called him that a car that looked like his own had been put up for sale.
He said operatives from the SCIID, Yaba, were alerted and the suspects were rounded up.

The four suspects, who confessed to the crime, said they operated with knives to avoid bloodshed.

The gang leader, Ayotunde, 27, said, “I used to sell garri with my grandma in a market before a former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, demolished shops in the market. I tried another job, but it didn’t work.

“I then sold the idea of robbing houses to my friends and we agreed to use only knives and not guns. We always lurk around developing areas in Ikorodu at night, look for any house that had its generator on, scale the fence and put off the generator.

When the occupants of the house come out to check the generator, we attack. We made N60,000 from our first operation in March.

“I was arrested when the man whom I had given the man’s car to called me that he had found a buyer. He said the buyer had paid N700,000 for the vehicle and that I should come for my share. We agreed to meet at a restaurant in Ojota. But on getting there, I discovered that it was a set up and I was arrested.”

Ogbonna, 23, an indigene of Ebonyi State, said he was looking for money for the treatment of his elder sister when he was invited to join the gang.

“My sister needed blood transfusion and I had to look for money by all means. I got N25,000 from the operation,” he added.

Anambra Rice Storms Local Markets with a Relatively Low Price...See Impressive Figure

Anambra State is one of the Nigerian states that have proved true federalism is realistic and practicable in Nigeria with a self-sustaining and viable local economy

Governor Willie Obiano's People's Democratic Party-led government has successfully produced tonnes of rice for commercial consumption in support of the #BuyNaijaToGrowTheNaira campaign aimed at developing the ailing economy of Nigeria, improving the value of the naira, creating jobs and other economic benefits accrued to a favourable balance of payment.

A Twitter user, May Ubeku announced that the local rice which has been tested for an outstanding quality and taste costs an affordable sum of N9,000 per bag which is a far cry from imported rice which costs a whooping sum of N25,000 and above.

The rice is currently available in Onitsha for wholesale and retail. Nigerians have been urged to patronise local products to encourage the growth and development of local industries.

Niger, Kebbi, Kaduna, Lagos and Anambra States have been championing the cause of local rice production since the emergence of President Muhammadu Buhari who placed a partial ban on the importation of rice which costs Nigeria a gargantuan sum of N365 billion in a year, according to statistics from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

It’s official – Nigeria in worst economic recession in 29 years

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has confirmed that Nigeria is in its worst economic recession in 29 years.

According to the NBS gross domestic product (GDP) report for the second quarter of 2016, Nigeria’s economy contracted by 2.06 percent to record its lowest growth rate in three decades.

In the first quarter of 2016, the NBS said the economy shrank by 0.36 percent to hit its lowest point in 25 years.

According to World Bank data, the last time Nigeria had this magnitude of economic decline was under the regime of Ibrahim Babangida, when the economy recorded consecutive decline of 0.51 percent and 0.82 percent in first and second quarters of 1987.

“In the Second Quarter of 2016, the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) declined by -2.06% (year-onyear) in real terms,” the NBS revealed.

“This was lower by 1.70% points from the growth rate of –0.36% recorded in the preceding quarter, and also lower by 4.41% points from the growth rate of 2.35% recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2015.

“Quarter on quarter, real GDP increased by 0.82% During the quarter, nominal GDP was N23,483,954.78 million (in nominal terms) at basic prices. This was 2.73% higher than the Second Quarter 2015 value of N22,859,153.01 million. This growth was lower than the rate recorded in the Second Quarter of 2015 by 2.44% points.”

OIL DOWN, AGRICULTURE UP

The oil sector experience a decline of 17.48 percent, while the agricultural sector grew by 13.24 percent within the quarter.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) had initially predicted that the Nigerian economy will shrink by 1.8 percent in 2016.

With the current results from the NBS, Nigeria is beating the IMF set bar at an aggregate GDP of 1.21 percent.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the head of the nation’s economic team, has said there is no cause for alarm, as his office and the Buhari-led administration are working to make the second half of 2016 better for Nigeria.
