Nigeria’s number one ponzi scheme, Mavrodi Mondial Moneybox (MMM) might have finally crashed as purported in the media.
The scheme resumed in January after a temporary freeze but many participants say they are unable to withdraw funds from the scheme.
A participant may “withdraw” funds by requesting “help” from MMM which then matches him with another participant who is mandated to pay the person seeking help. It seems no one wants to “provide help” anymore after MMM unfroze in January.
Nigerians who criticise the scheme have gone on Twitter, with the hashtag #MMMgone, to mourn and gloat at the “demise” of MMM.
