A distressed man has shown the horrifying picture of his daughter who was shot dead by the cousin for refusing to marry him.
A Kurdish father living in Germany has called for justice after his daughter was gunned down after refusing an arranged marriage, The Mirror reports.
It was gathered that the woman simply identified as Shilan who was gunned down had been given out to marry his cousin while she was just three.
As she grew older, she relocated to Germany with her family and swore over her dead body not to marry her cousin. She studied Property Management in the university and her confidence and determination not to follow their tradition sparked outrage among her family members.
The 21-year-old girl was shot in the head at a wedding in Hannover as her devastated family watched on.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for her cousin Sefin N. (German law prohibits publishing his full name). Sefin was recognized by dozens of guests at the wedding who said he shot the girl.
According to the victim's father identified as Ghazi, 50, he revealed that his brothers decided her daughter should marry his brother's son Numan while he was on an aid mission in Iraq and when he returned she begged him to stop the wedding from going ahead.
He said the killing of his daughter was a vengeance because she refused to marry the cousin.
He wrote on Facebook: "With great sadness, pain and a bleeding heart, I announce the death of my beloved daughter Shilan."
He said she was the victim of "an insidious betrayal, customs and traditions", and added: "It is a crime against an innocent person.
"We live here in Europe!"
