It’s always good to be alert whenever yiur at the zoo or any wildlife park or the price of carelessness, can be very costly. Luckily, in this instance, no life was lost after a dangerous cub being walked by a zoo keeper in the public space in front of curious onlookers, became distracted by a child and attacked the boy in the Russian city of Vladimir, 120 miles east of Moscow.
The lion is seen playing with its keeper but sped off towards the direction of the boy then grabs him with its mouth. It took the intervention of the zoo keeper to ward off the cub after hitting it several times.
The incident is being investigated by the Russian Investigative Committee with reports indicating that, “keeping the animal on a long leash, the woman took the feline for a walk out from the portable zoo area not taking into account the basic safety rules”. However, the zoo workers claim the cub was just playing.
A worker said: “Actually, there was no aggression on the part of the lion cub.
“Faina [the lion cub] was just playing. The evidence to this is that the boy’s coat was just slightly damaged.
“The boy’s mum, after she calmed down, also said that nothing serious had happened and decided not to call the police.”
