A blogger, Emmanuel Ojo, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command.
Ojo- who is being detained at the Command’s headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta- is in trouble for penning a story about the alleged involvement of the Olufunso Amosun, in money laundering.
Shortly after the story filtered into the public domain, Mrs Amosun denied being involved in money laundering as well as being detained by the police in London.
Police spokesperson in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed Ojo’s arrest, saying that the Command received a complaint from the state government about the blogger.
He said: “We received a complaint from the state government on the suspect, and he was arrested. Presently, he is with us at Eleweran. We are still conducting our investigations. If he is found wanting, he will be charged to court accordingly.”
Meanwhile, Secretary to the State Government, Taiwo Adeoluwa, insists that Governor Ibikunle Amosun, had nothing to do with the arrest of the blogger.
“The government reported the matter formally to the police and the state Director, Department of Security Services.
“The report by the blogger on the First lady is false and calculated to rubbish her image. The governor just arrived from the holy pilgrimage on Sunday; so he did not order the arrest of the blogger.”
