Corruption in House of Reps surpasses that in the Executive and Judiciary combined – Jibrin

Abdulmumin Jibrin

A former Chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has declared that graft in the Green Chamber under the leadership of Speaker, Yakubu Dogara is more than corruption in the executive and judiciary combined.

He made the statement in a series of tweets on Sunday when he reviewed the anti-corruption campaign, which he launched against the Speaker, and three other principals of the legislature.

He noted that the review marked the 30th day of his sack as the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation.

He wrote, “720 hours of fervent struggle to exterminate corruption in the House.

“And wipe out corruption in the House of Representatives. It was a month of startling revelations. 30 days of threats and intimidations.

“30 DAYS OF THE DOGARA-GATE SCANDAL: today marks one month since we commence the struggle to expose budget fraud.

“My resolve to champion this cause was borne out of patriotism and desire to compliment the present administration’s anti-corruption war.

“But the systemic corruption in the House especially under the corrupt leadership of Yakubu Dogara, is second to known.

“Although it is a trite that corruption has eaten deep into the nation’s fabric that can stand the test of truth.

“Everyday the reason for “sacking” me continues to change.

“During this period, they have struggled to settle on one single allegation against me or a single reason for sacking me sponsored by the corrupt speaker Dogara and his cabal, while ignoring all the allegations raised against them from the legislation font.

“We have remained resolute and steadfast despite the blackmail, propaganda and campaign.

“I have stated severally that Speaker Dogara and other accused Principal Officers have completely lost moral ground to continue.

“The truth remains that Speaker Dogara, Lasun, Doguwa, Ogor and others committed monumental fraud in the 2016 budget.

“I dare say that corruption in the House of Representatives today is more than that of the Executive and Judiciary combined.

“The truth is that corruption has become the biggest business in the House today under Speaker Dogara and his cohorts.”
