Man who allegedly killed his wife dies in Lagos hospital

The 50-year-old man, James Kafaru Esougi, who killed his wife, Roselyn Esougi, in her sleep in Lagos State, is reportedly dead.

The Nation is reporting that Esougo died on Friday morning at the Police Hospital, Ikeja, where he has been on admission since May 26.

Esougo had allegedly slit the throat of his wife, Roselyn at their residence, 8 Araromi Street, Oshodi area of the state on the said day.

Recall that the suspect was said to have ingested a poisonous chemical after allegedly slashing his wife’s throat.

Following his mental state after having ingested the unknown substance, police investigation had all along been fruitless.

The police command’s spokesperson, Dolapo Badmos, a Superintendent (SP), who confirmed the death, said the deceased never recovered from the alleged poison.

Badmos said, “I confirmed that the man died this morning at the hospital.


“He has been on admission since then. He did not recover from the poisonous substance he took. He was also not taking his medications.

“All attempt to rescue him so that investigations can be conducted failed,” the PPRO stated.
