Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has warned the public to avoid being deceived by fraudsters after fake Facebook and Twitter accounts were opened in his name.

It reads in part:
“I have been directed to inform the public that the governor has not opened any Facebook or Twitter account.”
“This announcement is imperative in view of the fake social media accounts in the name of Governor Bello opened by unscrupulous individuals to defraud the public.”
“As an IT-compliant governor, Alhaji Bello will use the social media for information and social activities in his drive for a better Kogi State. Official accounts will be made public when launched.”
Bello was sworn in on January 27, 2016.
