Awka-Etiti community in Idemmili South Local Government Area of Anambra State has been thrown into confusion as two persons claim the traditional stool of the town.
Chief Chuma Angus Ojukwu and Chief Michael Chidozie Ezeudenna claim they are the traditional rulers of the town.
Ojukwu, it was gathered, was crowned on November 5, 2016 by the kingmakers of the community, whereas the state Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, issued certificate of recognition to Ezeudeme.
Speaking to newsmen, Ojukwu accused the governor of instigating communal crisis in Awka-Etiti by issuing certificate of recognition to Ezeudenna who, he alleged, was not crowned by the Ozo titled men as was required by the custom of the community.
Ojukwu said he had gone to the governor on October 31, 2016 with a letter to intimate him of his November 5 coronation by the kingmakers.
He claimed the governor acknowledged receipt of the letter and expressed surprise that the governor still issued a certificate of recognition to a person who was not crowned.
Ojukwu threatened to drag the governor to court on the matter.
