Euro 2016: Iceland freeze England out

Iceland produced one of the shocks of the 2016 European Championship, beating England 2-1 to qualify for the quarter-finals.

The Three Lions took an early lead, after the referee pointed to the spot, following a tackle on Raheem Sterling inside the area. Captain Wayne Rooney stepped up and scored the penalty.

However, Iceland, coached by former Super Eagles coach, Lars Largeback reacted immediately.

Two minutes later, Ragnar Sigurdsson made it 1-1. In the 19th minute, Kolbeinn Sigthorsson scored to give the tiny nation the lead, which they held onto despite late pressure.

They will now play hosts France in the last eight.
