Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu wants President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint more people from the South- East into key positions in his government.
The Deputy Senate President while speaking at a luncheon organised by the Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to mark his one year in office urged the President give equal treatment to every region.
The lawmaker, however, warned that any attempt to favour a section of the country above the other posed a threat to the unity of the country.
He said, “I believe that Nigeria will remain united on the condition that everybody is treated equally.
“Now, politics is gone, the administration should focus more on governance and ensure equity in distribution of appointments and infrastructure.
“We want to see more of governance in the south-east and the south-south. The people want to see more appointments in the south-east.”
