Leicester Star Riyad Mahrez Is PFA Player Of The Year And He Is The First African To Win It

Riyad Mahrez has been announced the PFA Player of the Year thus making him the first African player to pick up the award. Mahrez was named as PFA Player of the Year at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on Sunday night.

Truthfully, the Algerian has been in sensational form this season banging in 17 times with 11 assists in the Premier League; more goals and assists combined than any other player in the league.

Riyad Mahrez was also on point against Swansea in a 4-0 thrashing at the King Power stadium. To win the award, Mahrez saw off competition from team-mate Jamie Vardy and Tottenham star Harry Kane. Also on the six-man shortlist were, Mesut Ozil, West Ham’s Dimitri Payet and N’Golo Kante.
