Abike-Dabiri sues bank, newspaper for alleged N122m debt
Ex-member of the House of Representatives, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, on Thursday, filed a libel suit in Lagos, against one of the new generation banks and a national daily, for allegedly publishing her name in the list of chronic debtors.
In an advertisement published by the bank in compliance with the Central Bank directive that bad debtors be exposed and shamed, it was said that Abike-Dabiri and a company identified as Thriller Endeavours owed it a chronic debt of N122 million.
Tweeting via her twitter handle @abikedabiri, she said: “Just finished filing a suit against Diamond bank and Punch for labeling me a debtor .To claim damages, a retraction and an apology”
