Soldiers have caused serious commotion in some Bayelsa communities after they stormed the areas to unleash mayhem.
Pure commotion took over three Bayelsa Communities of Peremabiri, Akamabugo and Tikogbene in Southern Ijaw local government council area of the state yesterday after armed soldiers invaded the areas.
According to Leadership, the armed soldiers allegedly ended up destroying over 43 houses and carting away three speed boats.
One of the communities, Peremabiri, is the country home of a frontline former militant leader, Comrade Eris Paul popularly known along the creeks and waterways as General Ogunboss.
The other two communities are neighbours to Peremabiri.
Leadership reports that the military invasion, according to concerned indigenes of Peremabiri Community, was allegedly coordinated by loyalists of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
According to eyewitnesses, though the soldiers, numbering over 50, claimed they were in search of suspected members of the new militant group, the Niger Delta Avengers, the soldiers beat up two youth leaders, Pastor Lucky and Bernard Ogunawei, to a state of coma.
