The Republic of Korea, through its agency, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has handed over a modern Integrated Rice Milling facility in Bida to the Niger State Government.
The handover, ceremony which took place in Bida, yesterday, was attended by his HRH Yahaya Abubakar, Etsu Nupe of Bida, the Governor of the state, Abubakar Sani Bello, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, Mr Noh Kyu-duk, Country Director of KOICA, Mrs Sook Hyun Park, Commissioner for Agriculture, Abdullahi Aliyu and other high level dignitaries.
According to Mrs Park, KOICA’s Country Director, the project started in 2008, and has the capacity of processing 1.5 tonnes of rice per hour (1.5t/h) with parboiling, drying, sorting and packaging facilities and can be increased to 3.0t/h.
