The supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the Benu South rerun have marked the end of the APC era by burning the brooms.
The activists played down the possibilities of the APC to take over Benue South by setting brooms ablaze in Otukpo.
David Mark campaign team, led by Chief, Mrs Enewa Helen Mark recently visited Allan Akpa council ward in Otukpo local government area.
They reiterated their support for former Senate president in the upcoming poll. The supporters also used the avenue to get some defectors led by the former chieftains of APC in Akpa, Hon Johnson Adakole Agaba, Hon Simon Okekpe V/chairman APC/Community leader Allan ward, Hon Sunday Egbe Chairman/Community leader Omebe Otobi ward and a host of others.
Adakole Elijah, David Mark’s spokesperson, thanked them for shunning darkness for light.
The rerun poll scheduled for February 20, is between Mark of the PDP and Daniel Onjeh of the APC. This followed the annulment of the former Senate president’s election by the Court of Appeal sitting in Makurdi, Benue state in November last year.
It has been widely speculated that Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, and former Senate minority leader, George Akume, both APC chieftains are two of the strong backers of the APC candidate.
