APC is ready for Yahaya Bello Inauguration
John Odigie-Oyegun, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress on Monday, January 26, stated that the party is ready for the inauguration of Yahaya Bello as governor of Kogi state, despite the insistence of his deputy, James Abiodun Faleke, not to attend the ceremony.
The APC chief made this disclosure at the APC national secretariat saying that the party will be take necessary as event arises but refused to disclose during the press briefing.
He said: “As a party, we have prepared for every possible contingency in the Kogi situation. So, whatever happens in the next few hours, we are ready for it. There is no question and doubt about that.
“I don’t want to go into the details of what will likely happen. That is still between INEC and legal authorities. But just rest confidently, it is sometimes good to be expecting what will happen, keep your gun powder dry and watch.”
Faleke who was the deputy governorship candidate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu, had rejected the same position under Bello saying that he was the governor-elect.
Odigie-Oyegun also confirmed the emergence of Barrister Sharon Ikeazor as the party’s candidate in the forthcoming Anambra Central Senatorial district re-run poll, adding that the candidate emerged through ‘due processes.
