Paris attacks mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud 'dead' during a police raid

The man believed to be behind the Paris terror attacks reportedly died in a police morning raid, sources suggest.

Abdelhamid Abaaoud, 27, had been holed up in a flat in Saint-Denis, in the north of the city, but is believed to have been killed during a stand-off, according to senior intelligence officials. One woman was also killed after detonating her suicide belt and five people were arrested.

A Paris prosecutor said the suspected mastermind, and an accomplice in the Paris attacks, are not among those arrested. Four police officers were also injured in dramatic scenes in the French capital. Abaaoud, from Belgium, was named as the man behind the massacre of at least 129 people.

Highway sweeper thrown off Third Mainland Bridge by speeding vehicle, dies

A highway sweeper under the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), on Wednesday, lost her life when a vehicle knocked her off the Third Mainland Bridge to the ground.

A correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) who was at the scene of the accident reported that the sweeper was hit when the vehicle had a burst tyre.

NAN reported that the accident occurred at about 11.00 a.m. behind Kam Salem House, the Police Headquarters annex at Obalende.

The driver of the vehicle, a military personnel, was said to be speeding when his tyre burst and the vehicle somersaulted.

The victim, according to eyewitnesses, was thrown over the bridge by the vehicle and landed on the ground.

The military personnel, who was also unconsciouss, was taken to the Military Hospital in Ikoyi in a tricycle, popularly known as `Keke Marwa’ by his colleagues.

The victim, who was identified as Bisi by her colleagues, was said to be a dutiful worker who loved her job with passion in spite of the salary she earned.

An official of Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA), who spoke anonymously, confirmed to NAN that the driver of the car was on speed when the tyre burst.

In what has now been described as the worst attack in French history since world war II, last night will be remembered for years to come, as Gun men numbering about eight carried out deadly coordinated attacks in six locations across the capital city of France.

Many news agencies put the death toll at between 120 and 153 casualties.

About 4 people were killed outside a stadium where the French and German team had a soccer game. In the course of the game, two explosions were heard. It was also said that the French president, Francois Hollander and German Foreign Minister were present in stadium when the bombs went off. The French president was evacuated and was taken to the interior ministry which is said to be near the Stade De France stadium.

About 19 people were reportedly killed in a local Cambodian restaurant, Le Petit, with Ak47 weilding terrorists screaming "Allahu Akbar" and opened fire.

Many eye witnesses at the theatre reported that about Four men attacked the hall, shooting at the crowd for 10 - 15 minutes. The gun men wore no masks and heard shouting "This is for Syria" and " Allah Akbar (God is great in Arabic)".

Two of the terrorists blew themselves up in the stadium and one at the restaurant. It was also learnt that the four gunmen who attacked the Baltacan Theatre where the casualty is highest all blew themselves up.

The American band, Eagles of Death metal are still searching for their crew members and some of their band crews have not been accounted for.

After he was evacuated from the Stadium, Francois Hollande declared a state of emergency in a national broadcast. This is the first declaration of state of emergency since world war II. He also announced the closure of all France's borders. additional 1,500 army re-inforcements were deployed to Paris to assist the security operatives over there.

Apple apologises after it's staff kicked out African school boys over fear they might steal something

Following the backlash they received after a group of black Maribyrnong College students uploaded a video of them being denied entry into one of their stores in Melbourne, Australia, on Facebook, the Tech giant, which many people on social media accused of racially profiling its customers, issued a statement on Friday, November 13, from its head office in the US, apologizing for the incident.

"We've looked into the details of the situation and we apologise to the customers involved," the statement said. "We will continue to do everything in our power to ensure all our customers are treated the way they should be. We believe in equality for everyone, regardless of race, age, gender, gender identity, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. That applies throughout our company, around the world with no exceptions."

In the video, a staff member can be heard saying:

"These guys [security guards] are just a bit worried about your presence in our store. They're just worried you might steal something."
