A woman has pleaded guilty and begged for forgiveness after she admitted to severing her husband's manhood while he was sleeping.
The woman identified as Angel Mutuku was charged before a Mombasa court on Monday, where she admitted causing bodily harm contrary to section 251 of the penal code. The prosecution revealed that Mutuku assaulted her husband Stephen Ochieng Oyuga in Magongo area of Kenya on February 16, according to Nairobi Wire.
Mr. Oyuga is currently admitted at Bomu Medical Centre, where he is receiving treatment. According to Changamwe police statement, trouble started at 5:30 am, when the wife slapped her husband in the back, accusing him of sleeping for too long.
“The complaint was asleep at around 05:30 hrs when his wife slapped him on the back and started accusing him of sleeping for too long,” reads the police statement in part.
The angry husband reiterated by slapping her back, for ‘waking him roughly’.
Ms Mutuku then went to the kitchen and came back with a small kitchen knife which she used to commit the deed. She then left the house for her place of work, leaving her husband writhing in pain.
According to the report, she also called Oyuga’s brother to take him to hospital.
The trial magistrate directed that she be detained until Wednesday when prosecution is expected to read facts of the case and possibly prefer fresh charges against her.
