Ex-Ministers confess how they shared N1.1bn during 2015 general election

Two ex-ministers that served under the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Arch Musa Sada from Katsina State and Asabe Asmau Ahmed from Niger State have revealed how they handled their share of the N23.29 billion campaign fund.

The duo received the money from former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke through Fidelity Bank ahead of last year’s presidential poll.

Vanguard reports that they were among others who admitted collecting N1.1 billion for the purpose of disbursing to politicians in their respective states to influence the outcome of the election.

While Arch Musa Sada told EFCC investigators that he collected the sum of N700 million and handed over to the state’s finance commissioner on the instruction of Governor Ibrahim Shema, Asabe Asmau disclosed that she kept N105 million for herself and handed over the balance to the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

EFCC reportedly asked them to refund the monies since it was taken from public accounts.

The duo are expected to be charged to court soon.
