Airport Cleaner Denies Receiving N12m Cash Gift From TREM Church

Airport cleaner, Josephine Agwu says she didn't receive N12million from TREM church last Sunday when she was hosted by the Presiding Bishop and general overseer of the church, Dr Mike Okonkwo.

"I was at TREM for the Easter service but it is not true they gave me N12 million. I got a call from TREM asking me to come for their service. It is a lie that I was given N12m. I did not even see the report" she told Encomium magazine.

But she refused to say how much was given to her, only saying that of all that was offered to her, prayer was the most important to her "Prayer matters most. That is the most important thing to me. Any other thing might follow. That prayer is the most important" she said.

I Will Drag Oba Of Lagos To ICC Says Josef Onoh's Son

Son of late former governor of old Anambra state Chief C.C Onoh and former member of the Enugu state House of state, Dr Josef Onoh has vowed to drag the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu before the International Criminal Court of Justice over the anti-Igbo comments he made during his meeting with some Igbo leaders resident in Lagos last Sunday.

Speaking with Vanguard, Dr Josef Onoh said

"Let it be known that whether Oba Akiolu's threat comes to fruition or not, I have concluded to take him to the ICC where he will keep company with the like Charles Taylor and answer to human right charges that will be preferred against him" he said.

Many of the politicians we know as AGIP - any government in power - have started praising the candidate of the APC, Muhammadu Buhari for defeating incumbent president Goodluck Jonathan.

One of them is the chairman of Board of Trustees of the PDP, Chief Tony Anenih. He has said that with the election of General Buhari during the March 28 election, there was hope that the administration of the new President-elect would take Nigeria to greater heights.

Anenih in a statement titled, "Marching on with Hope", urged those who might still be aggrieved

by the outcome of the March 28 Presidential Election to emulate the selflessness and magnanimity of President Goodluck Jonathan who conceded victory.
Anenih, congratulated Buhari on his victory and hailed Jonathan's statesmanship in conceding defeat.

"I congratulate the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on his victory. Nigerians are expecting great things from him; it is my hope that he will take this great country to greater heights in the journey towards our manifest destiny."

"The presidential poll, in which the incumbent President lost to the opposition, has become a source of pride to Nigeria. It has portrayed to the world that democracy in Nigeria compares to the best anywhere."

The party took to Twitter this afternoon to condemn the comments made by the Oba of Lagos to Igbos on Sunday April 5th.

Dame Abimbola Fashola says she met her husband, the Governor of Lagos state, Babatunde Fashola at a party after his father introduced her to him. She shared their love story with City People magazine;

Independent National Electoral Commission has issued a press statement to clarify on the ongoing rumour of whether card readers will be used in the upcoming Governorship election. Statement below:

The Independent National Electoral Commission wishes to inform all Nigerians that Card Readers will be used for the April 11, 2015 Elections.

1. The provision of the Guidelines for the conduct of the 2015 General Elections which outlined what is to be done if a Card Reader fails and cannot be replaced by the Commission within a specified time frame (i.e. Reschedule the election to the next day) will be enforced.

2. The relaxation of the Guideline on 28^thMarch 2015 was only with respect to the Presidential and National Assembly elections held on that date.

3. The Commission has reviewed the operation of the Card Reader in the 28^th March Elections, identified the challenges and has taken adequate measures to address them.

The deputy governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Ahmad Mahmud has been expelled from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for alleged anti-party activities. His expulsion comes ahead of his rumored defection to APC today. A statement signed by Alhaji Ibrahim Kafinta, PDP chairman of Galagamma ward in Gumel, Jigawa, revealed that the decision to expel Mahmud was taken during a stakeholders meeting held in his ward.

According to the statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Dutse, the chairman alleged that the deputy governor had sabotaged PDP during the recent National Assembly election. He said that the Gumel Local Government headquarters of the party had endorsed the expulsion. Efforts by NAN to get the comments of the deputy governor on the matter was futile as he neither picked calls nor replied a text message sent to him.

Buhari's Sister Opens Up On Their Childhood Years

Celebrations of Muhammadu Buhari's victory at the presidential elections are still ongoing in his country home in Daura, Katsina state. The excited All Progressives Congress supporters were seen rolling drums with victory songs when the Vanguard corresponded arrived in Daura to visit Buhari's family.

His sister Hajia Rekiya Adamu gently agreed to speak with the journalist and recall interesting facts from her brother's past. In particular, the octogenarian disclosed how Buhari was raised, shed light on his childhood years and relationship with the community members. Haija described him as an intelligent and trustworthy man who always finds time to take care of his family.

Hajia, now that your only blood brother has emerged as Nigeria's President-elect, what do you have to say about his upbringing?
Buhari, since he was a boy has always been a calm person. He doesn't talk so much and he avoids trouble with others. He is very caring, he is very close to his relations, he is such a person that doesn't like to break family ties. He tries as much as he can to link up with others anywhere. He lived with me before when he was schooling in Katsina. I was married then and every one was amazed by his conduct because no one ever reported him to me. He is intelligent and I remember during his childhood he was outstanding. He has no enemy. Even now, go around Daura town, he has no enemy. His attitude has endeared him to all.

How close is he to the family, having been such a public figure?
I'm his only elder sister, he always visits me. Even during tight schedule especially during election campaign, he always found time to see me. I mean he would sneak in to see everybody. Anything that I or any distant relation needs, he never hesitates to provide. He tries his best to make the family happy.

Among his siblings, how do they see him?
We were 24 in the family, all others have died remaining Buhari and me. They used to call him Akali during his childhood. That is the name our parents and relatives call him. I cannot recall why they called him that, because I was small then but I know that is the name we called him. We also call him Leko because he was born after twins.

How did your parents regard him?
They held him in high esteem. He returned when he was held in prison when our mother died, they really loved him and showed all of us love and care.

Now that he is the incoming president how do you see his victory?
It's blessing to Nigeria because he had held that position before, but as a military man. He is honest and trustworthy and these attributes are still his hallmark. We pray God to see him through this national assignment. We call on Nigerians to give him the needed support to enable him transform the country.

Meanwhile President Goodluck Jonathan and the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday met behind closed doors at the presidential villa in Abuja, for the first time since the polls result announcement by the INEC. The two were believed to have discussed the hand-over transition ceremony. However, no official comments were provided about the meeting.

The two Al-Jazeerha journalists, Ahmed Idris and Ali Mustafa who were detained in their hotel in Maiduguri, by the Nigerian military over allegations of loitering, have regained their freedom.

According to Borno state government's news platform, KSM News, the journalists were this morning allowed to leave the hotel where they have been detained since March 24th and have been moved to the state government lodge on the advice of Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima.

According to Reuters, France's lower house of parliament on Friday passed a measure, banning excessively thin fashion models and exposing modeling agencies and the fashion houses that hire them to possible fines and even jail. The measure is part of a wider crack-down on anorexia backed by President Francois Hollande's government. Lawmakers during the night approved a separate measure making it illegal to condone anorexia, a move targeting Internet sites that encourage dangerous weight loss.

Ikechukwu Arthur Anoke, a Nigerian resident in Kenya, is the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the party that produced Nigeria's President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari in East Africa. He was the brain behind the party's campaigns in Kenya and other countries in the region.

Ikechukwu, was the one who placed a congratulatory advert on Kenya's newspaper, The Sun congratulating Buhari on behalf of all Nigerians living in East Africa, that contributed to the success of the presidential election is a Political science graduate from Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria.

Ikechukwu is the CEO of Mtech communication in Kenya. He has a management company, Taurus, which played a lead role in mobilizing Nigerian artistes to perform at top functions in East Africa.

May D Has Never Laid His Hands On A Woman Before

I'm sure most of you will find this laughable. Is May D's manager saying the story and pictures Adebola his babymama slammed on the internet were all lies? Including those pictures showing how they battered her? Hahaha such liars.

So his manager, Oreoluwa Akinbode who says anything he says can be taken to be that of May D has told Punch that May D has never laid his hands on any woman, and he is far from being a woman beater. Here's the exact words he said to a reporter of the national newspaper;

"The truth is that the news has been out for a while and I haven't spoken to anybody about it and May D has not either. When we read the news, we were shocked because it is false. We have spoken to our lawyers and our PR team and they have something they are working on. We want anything that would come out to be the official statement of the company. We don't want to release individual responses.

Aside from being his manager, May D is also my cousin. Anything I say can be considered to be a statement from both his management and brother. That is why I am skeptical about going into details. "Anything that will come out will be from our lawyers or PR team. We want it to be official. Funny enough, you do not need to hear from May D before you know that he does not beat women not to talk about the mother of his child. If you followed the news, a lot of people replied on May D's behalf that it is not possible without us saying anything.

Anybody that knows him one on one knows that he is not capable of such. She is still the mother of his son and because of that, we have to be cautious. We need to think of the family and that is why we need to be reasonable at this point. I don't know why his baby mama would put out such a story about him. It is a personal relationship between them," he said.

Presidency To Investigate Audio Leak Of Jonathan's Congratulatory Phone Call To Buhari

When we all heard the audio of president Jonathan's congratulatory phone call to Gen Buhari on March 31st, some of you thought it was leaked by the presidency to make Pres. Jonathan look good but according to new reports, the presidency is embarrassed by the leak and has commenced a discreet investigation into how the phone conversation was leaked.

The presidency is now trying to find out if the leak came from them or from Gen. Buhari's camp. A source told Saturday Sun; "Definitely, unauthorised release of a raw recording of the President's telephone conversation, if from our (Presidency's) end is a security breach that cannot go without being investigated," the source said.

The source said if they find out the audio, which went viral two days ago, was from the Presidency, then further investigation would be conducted to fish out those behind it in order to mete out appropriate punishment.

According to a report by Vanguard, 10 Lagos governorship candidates have stepped down to declare support for Akinwunmi Ambode, who is running under APC in the forthcoming April 11th governorship election in the state.

The 10 governorship aspirants released a statement today saying they have shelved their individual ambitions to be the governor of Lagos State to support the candidature of Ambode. They said;

"Without mincing words, we collectively as candidates of various political parties, have decided to join hands together with Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode of APC to give Lagosians a deserving government at this time. We unanimously give our unwavering solidarity to work together with Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode of the APC come 11th April 2015, slated by the Independent National Electoral Commission for gubernatorial election. We enjoin all our teeming supporters across the state to take this declaration and sound it loud and clear that Akinwunmi Ambode, is the candidate to take Lagos to the next level."
