Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 300th goal of his Real Madrid career to see off Rayo Vallecano and remain four points behind Barcelona

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 300th goal for Real Madrid against Rayo Vallecano. Portugal striker, Cristiano Ronaldo has become the club's third highest goal scorer after claiming his  300th goal in just 288 appearances for European champions, Real Madrid.

The former Manchester United striker, who had scored five goals in the 9 -1 win for the club last week, achieved the milestone by netting a headed goal in the 68th minute as the Spanish club saw off  Rayo Vallecano 2 - 0 on their own patch.

The three-time Ballon d'Or winner is now edging closer than ever to surpassing Real Madrid legends, Alfredo Di Stefano's who is on 308 goals and Raul Gonzalez who has a total of 323 goals for the club.
