Mel B has reportedly been ordered to pay her estranged husband Stephen Belafonte £30,500 (that' the amount Mirror.co.uk puts theirs). And following the ruling by a judge in Los Angeles, the Spice Girl's family vented their anger at the "disgusting" ruling and yes, half of Nigerian women are angry too, lol!
After news that Wannabe singer, 42, is supposedly being ordered to pay the "emergency spousal support" broke, her mother, Andrea Brown, took to Twitter to give her verdict on the latest twist in the divorce drama.
Venting her frustrations at the news of the ruling, Andrea slammed the judge's decision.
"This would never happen in England disgusted with this news," she wrote above a retweeted link to the article.
And her followers were equally outraged by the news, as they tweeted their outrage to Anrdrea. But, despite the news, Andrea said there was a silver lining to her daughter's split and the ensuing drama.
"Have 2 b thankful my daughter alive after 10yrs of worry she's finely safe#more important than money [sic]," she tweeted a few hours later.
The money is expected to cover Stephen's basic amenities including food, housing and phone bills.
The order also supposedly includes a separate one-time £106,813 payment for his legal fees.
It's been reported that a Los Angeles judge granted Stephen’s request for the money to tide him over until the couple reach a final divorce settlement.
