All Progressives Congress gubernatorial candidate in Ondo, Rotimi Akeredolu has made peace with the State Party Chairman, Isaac Kekemeke who was alleged to have collaborated with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to impose a gubernatorial aspirant, Segun Abraham on the party towards the primary election.
Rotimi Akeredolu has been surreptititiously making reconciliatory progress with aggrieved party chieftains following the controversy of the All Progressives Congress primary election which he won with a slim victory of 34 votes.
He met with the Ondo State Chairman - Isaac Kekemeke of the All Progressives Congress and other local Government chairmen in the South-western state. The meeting at Kekemeke's house ended with the aggrieved groups reaching a consensus.
The details of the meeting are currently sketchy. Rumours also have it that the crack within the APC at the national level may soon become history as a reconciliatory committee has been stealthily innaugurated.
Akeredolu also known as Aketi shared his words on his Facebook page after the meeting:
"For me, the lives of the people of Ondo State must transcend above party issues. I met with the party Chairman today, D.I. Kekemeke , with the Local Government Chairmen present, at his home to resolve all lingering divisions. It was resolved by all that we must work together and move forward as a party.
"The chairman made it clear that he harbours no plans to leave the party as he has no other party to go to. Mr. Chairman assured us of his desire to do everything within his power to mend fences at the national level. Present at our meeting was Engr. Adetimehin, vice Chairman of the APC in Ondo and other supporters.
"I previously noted on here that primaries have a tendency to raise dust but once that is over, the dust must settle and everyone must close ranks. This is the beauty of democracy and we have espoused these principles. I appreciate the reception giving me by the party Chair and I look forward to bringing Ondo State to a new level of governance never seen before.
"It is time to think ANew and act ANew because changing the lives of our people is a goal worthy of our best efforts."
