We must support Buhari for change - Ngige

Former Governor of Anambra State, Senator Chris Ngige on Sunday said the change Nigerians expect will fully take root when each of us plays his part in supporting President Muhammadu Buhari to deliver on his campaign promises.

Ngige said this in a Sallah message to Muslim faithful as part of the Eid-El-fitir celebrations.

He said the Eid-El-Fitir celebrations provide a unique opportunity for sober reflections and spiritual rejuvenation which Nigerians must take full advantage of.

While congratulating our Muslim brothers and sisters for the successful completion of the mandatory month-long fasting period, he urged that we all imbibe the lessons of selflessness, dedication to the service of God and humanity, as well as sacrifice which the Holy month teaches.

Ngige said, "This is the time for all of us to unite irrespective of our ethnic, political or religious affiliation, to rebuild our nation in order to attain our God given potential.

"We must, at all times, bear in mind, that like President Muhammadu Buhari always says, "We have no other country to call our own; we must say here and salvage it together."

"Our challenge as a nation requires a collective approach because those we have entrusted with leadership positions cannot do it alone without our support. We must therefore; rise up to the challenge to support the APC led Federal Government, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari."

He stressed that the change we all hoped and prayed for is here. The former governor explained that all Nigerians must now be prepared to play their individual and collective roles to ensure that words translate into action for Nigeria to attain its full potential.

"I have no doubt in my mind that the process of healing Nigeria's wounds has begun. We should therefore, take advantage of the times and make the best of this rare opportunity for growth." He said.
