Popular Child Actress, Keke Palmer tells the story of how she was sexually abused as a child

Remember Keke Palmer, that popular witty American child actress? Yes, her! She’s all grown up now and more matured that you used to know her.

She recently spilled lots of details on growing up in her upcoming book, I Don’t Belong to You: Quiet the Noise and Find Your Voice.

This she revealed in a Facebook Live chat where she talked about how difficult her childhood was especially because people thought the world was handed to her as child actress.

“So many people watch my career and sit back and think they can’t do the things I can do because they think I came from a privileged lifestyle,” said the 23-year-old, before adding that she’s “been through some sh–t. Some real sh–t.” And then the star hinted on the type of challenges she’d faced as a child.

“I have experienced abuse, sexual abuse. I have experienced turmoil in my family,” she said, noting that it took family bond to get her through many difficulties people never knew she had been through. Here’s what she said, plus her response to fans on Instagram: “I decided to write a book because I felt like so much of my life was similar to others. So many people watch my career and sit back and think they can’t do the things I can do because they think I came from a privileged lifestyle. I’m trying to let y’all know immediately, I’ve been through some sh–t. Some real sh–t, ya’ll. I didn’t come from glitter and glow. It really was Godsent how everything happened for [me and my family]. When we got [to California], the first couple of weeks, I got a Kmart commercial. People really thought I was born into this industry.

They felt like it was handed to me. But that was the gag, and that’s the gag that my family, we all have. At the end of the day, it wasn’t handed to me. At the end of the day, the cards were against me. At the end of the day, I did grow up on Section 8. At the end of the day, I have experienced abuse, sexual abuse. I have experienced turmoil in my family. We have a strong bond but we’ve been through some sh–t.

The point is not to hide those things, because when we hide those things we stop other people from being able to envision that life for themselves. Somebody may have gotten abused, somebody may have been put down, somebody mama wasn’t in their life, somebody daddy wasn’t in their life – whatever it could have been. If they don’t see that anybody else has gone through that, and people keep acting as though they live these perfect lives, then it really doesn’t allow other people to be inspired and motivated to go beyond their current realities.

It leaves them in a position of thinking they’re not good enough or this life wasn’t offered to them to be good. The reality is it doesn’t matter where you’re from, it doesn’t matter who you are, it doesn’t matter what your daddy did to you or what your mama did to you, it matters what you do with yourself. And that is the reality.”

Identical twins who share boyfriend reveal they now plan to marry him

Two identical twins who share a bed with their joint boyfriend have now revealed they both plan to marry him.

Anna and Lucy DeCinque, from Perth, Australia, both plan to tie the knot with boyfriend Ben Byrne having met him on Facebook five years ago.The 30-year-old sisters say they plan to travel to Tucson, Arizona, to say their three-way vows.

Arizona's constitution bans polygamy but lists no punishment - meaning many travel for wedding services which are described as 'spiritual' rather than legal unions.

According to UK Mirror, announcing their intentions on YouTube, the pair said:
"We’ve been with him for five years so he’s twinning and winning… We do want to marry the same man and his name is Ben.And now we've been thinking, how is that going to work? Many debate is it possible? Can it really work? I don't really know.
"We've actually heard in Tucson [America] you can get married."
he twins baffled ITV's This Morning hosts Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby as they bluntly admitted they sleep with him at the same time earlier this year.
They said:
"We're in the mood at the same time. He's a lucky guy, He needs double the energy, he gets double the love and double the attention."
"We're not hurting anyone and it makes us happy.
"We're always going to be together. Because we're with each other 24/7 of our lives it's so much easier to share a boyfriend."

These six Nigerian stars failed to shine in 2016

Some stars came into the Nigerian music scene and like meteorite, they were up in the sky, shining like light and having so many fans endeared to their heats.  But in 2016, it was as if their light started dwindling. When so many thought they might have been cooking something in the studio hoping such would be released before the end of the year, these stars lived on past glory while new acts sprang up and some of their contemporaries shone brighter.

Saturday Beats brings some of the artistes whose light didn’t shine so brightly in 2016

  • Omawumi

Not just a few believed Omawunmi would excel going by her performance during the Idols reality show that shot her into limelight in 2007. She has cemented her name as an achiever and force to be reckoned with in the Nigerian entertainment scene. Her sophomore album, ‘Lasso of Truth,’ which was released in 2015 was said to be a commercial success. Omawumi managed to break that jinx where just male artistes had held sway in the music scene for a long time.
But fast forward to 2016, not much was heard from the singer musically. Thank God for social media anyway, but for Instagram where the babe would always post one or two stuff, her presence would have dwindled considerably.
Yes, she managed to release a song with Grammy Award winner, Angelique Kidjo but did it have a very positive impact in her career in 2016? No!
Anyway, fans still love her and hope that not only would she change her hairstyle in 2017, she would also come up with better and bigger hits.

  • Waje

And like her bestfriend Omawumi, Waje was almost pushed to the background this year.
Save for ‘The Voice Nigeria’ which kind of kept her busy as a judge in the reality show, Waje’s impact in the music scene was almost insignificant.
Waje has been  busier on social media than in the studio this year. Yes, fans got to know more about her grown up daughter and her cool dresses which she proudly showed off every now and then. And of course, she also proudly showed off her figure as she transformed from a plus-sized babe to a much trimmer lady.
The last time Waje released her self-titled album was in May 2013. The album was critically acclaimed but ever since then, she has been releasing single tracks.
This year, the music diva has been able to release only one track which she titled ‘Ominiknowest.’
It was once reported that the singer planned to take a four year break from music. So the question is, has she started the hiatus?

  • Chidinma

Chidinma ‘Miss Kedike’ Ekile is a typical example of the expression that great things come in small packages.
The Project Fame winner started strong after the competition winning any award that she was nominated for. One of such milestone awards is the Kora and she was the first female musician to get to the number one spot on the MTV Base top ten countdown. With her trailblazing success, she won the admiration of many as several celebrities have openly confessed that they have a crush on the petite damsel.
The girl didn’t allow her small frame to deter her from conquering the music industry. But that was long ago.
This year, Chidinma was busier arousing people’s curiosity as to whether she is dating artiste, Flavour or not especially when she deleted all the pictures on her social media page save for hers and Flavour’s.
It seems that the star is fast fizzling out of the industry. Not much has been heard from the singer musically this year. Her recent song, ‘Fall in Love,’ which she released some weeks ago does not have the same buzz that always characterises songs.
So many fans expect Chidinma to wake up in 2017.

  • D’banj

‘Oh, how the mighty has fallen’ would certainly be the expression on so many peoples’ minds especially when they think of the self-acclaimed entertainer and Kokomaster, D’banj.
With his ‘nothing-dey-happen’ attitude since he broke up from his partner and friend Don Jazzy, D’banj has yet to make any strong impact musically.
But thank God for his song ‘Emergency’ which was released early in the year, it was a good work and so many people felt D’banj had finally survived the break-up.
Alas, his ‘Focus,’ ‘If no be God,’ ‘Breaking New’ and ‘Gifted’ didn’t make any impact at all. D’banj needs to step up his game in 2017, otherwise his career would land in Emergency Room!

  • Iyanya

Well, thank God for ‘Krukere,’ nobody would have known Iyanya apart from the fact that he was a sensation at the then Project Fame competition.
Another thing that stood him out is his sexy body which makes ladies- old and young – go wild! But how has that affected his career in 2016?
His controversial exit from Ubi Franklin’s Triple M Records made more headlines than the release of his following songs, ‘Type of woman,’ ‘Nothing Mega,’ ‘Yoga song,’ ‘Sukumma,’ ‘Why,’ and ‘Heartbeat.’ Just a handful of people would have ‘felt’ the songs.
With his new marriage to Don Jazzy’s Mavin, who knows, 2017 might be a better year as hopefully, the ace producer would give Iyanya his Midas Touch.

  • Wande Coal

It seems Wande Coal found his sound late this year with the new song, ‘Iskaba,’ which he released few weeks ago. Before then, nothing much was heard from the young man. His first album, ‘Mushin to Mo’hit’ was a collector’s item but his sophomore album, ‘Wanted,’ which was released in 2015 was not really wanted by a lot of people as many have described the album as a flop.
Hopefully 2017 would be better for the dreadlock wearing singer.
List was compiled by 'Nonye Ben-Nwankwo and Ademola Olonilua of Punch. Do you agree?

My husband’s house was bewitched, pastor’s late wife says in ‘message from grave’

A 42-year-old woman, Omolade Omoniyi, who is now late, has revealed in a video released by her family how she believed the house of her husband, a pastor with the Christ Apostolic Church, Onigbogbo, Atan Ota, Ogun State, Pastor Olusegun Omoniyi, was bewitched, making her sick till she died.
The release of the video is coming more than 10 months after she died following what her family termed “mysterious attacks” which had forced her to flee her matrimonial home.
The deceased woman’s family told Saturday PUNCH that the video, which is one of many that were recorded few days before Omolade died, was shot in order to get her personal accounts on record.

“Please for God’s sake, don’t let me die. Take me to wherever you know I will get help.  I have been calling you (her husband), but you ignored my calls. Everybody help me to beg him. I have taken three pints of blood, but I excreted them all away. Help me, I don’t want to die,” she said in one part of the video.
She reportedly died the following day after that particular video.
The video clip, which also captured the final moments of Omolade on the sick bed at the Safeway Hospital, Sango, where she was receiving treatment, showed the 42-year-old begging her husband for a solution to her predicament.
The PUNCH had reported how Olusegun lamented that he was abducted from church by some OPC members, who were allegedly hired by members of his wife’s family.
He had said after being tortured and blindfolded, he was taken to a hideout where his estranged wife was being treated for a strange illness he claimed struck her seven months after she left their matrimonial home.
The cleric said he was made to clean his wife’s faeces on the hospital bed and beaten until the police came to his rescue. He also alleged that a day after his wife died, he was attacked again and forced to sleep on the corpse.
Olusegun had told our correspondent that his late wife separated from him and took away all her property over their childlessness despite being married for 16 years. He also accused his wife’s family of being the brains behind the trouble in their union.
The late wife’s family had declined comment at the time, but last week Saturday, during a chat with our correspondent, Omolade’s family showed our correspondent few recorded interview sessions they had with her before her demise.
Responding to a question on why she left her matrimonial home, Omolade explained that she was a proprietress of a school in the Alaba area, where she stayed from Monday to Friday to ease transport cost.
She said she always returned home for the weekend.
She said, “I, however, observed that anytime I go home for weekend, I get sick. The sickness would continue till Monday when I have to leave for work. Once I step out of the house for work, I would be relieved. This had happened many times.
“On a particular weekend that I was supposed to return home, I decided to stay back at school and see if I would fall sick again. Surprisingly, nothing happened to me.
“I then called my husband’s attention to it. I begged him that he should find a solution to the problem, but he said he was praying for me and all would be well. At another time, he dismissed it and said I was lying.”
Omolade said few weeks later, her husband called and apologised to her for not caring about her health, promising to change.
She explained that the following week Friday, she was returning from work when she felt a sharp pain in the neck as she approached home.
“By Saturday morning, my condition had become worse and I could not eat. On Sunday morning, when some people brought church’s instruments, I suddenly collapsed. I was revived and I put myself together, wore my clothes and entered the church so that our members would not be wondering why I didn’t attend Sunday service.
“After the service, I went on a visit to a church elder’s wife. As soon as I got to their house, I became relieved,” she added.
The deceased said in the video that the church elder’s wife queried her for moving her things from the house, saying Olusegun reported her to the family.
She denied packing out of the house, saying she always took the plates and clothes she would use during her stay at the school.
“Why will I divorce my husband after all our struggles together to the point of building our own house and after all my contributions? I told her the only issue we had was my husband’s uncaring attitude, especially when I became sick.  He would sometime say I was lying. Whereas, if he was the one that was sick, I could kill myself over his health.
“There was a time he was sick and things were hard for us.  I had to go under the bridge at Sango to beg people for money, just to raise money for his medications. But in my case, he never cared about me and this was what happened when we lost two children in a single day,” she added.
She said after another attack on a Friday, a friend at her school advised her to leave the house for the meantime.
Omolade said she left the house with a lump in her breast, which she developed after another attack.
She said after leaving the house for the school, her husband started shunning her calls and at a point, stopped taking the calls, querying her for leaving the house.
The last moment of Omolade captured in another clip, showed her appealing to her husband in the presence of some family members, friends and a doctor.
Olusegun had been “forced” into the hospital to see his wife on the day.
Pastor Stephen Oyesola, the younger brother of the deceased, who forced Olusegun to the hospital, denied hiring OPC members.
He said, “Nobody kidnapped or abducted him. On January 7, we invited him to come and see his wife, but he refused. On February 4, the supreme council of CAC and top CAC elders at Ibadan mediated and asked him to take care of the sick woman so that she would not die. He also refused.
“I was later called to donate blood for my sister, which I did. But she excreted it. She was in pain and was crying that she wanted to see her husband.
“A brother, two friends and myself, went to bring him from the house. We never used any OPC member and we never beat or tortured him. By this time, my sister’s stomach, legs and hands were swollen. The police later came in to take him away. My sister died 12am the following day.”
Stephen added that during the plan for his sister’s burial, the family was surprised when Olusegun’s insisted she would not be buried on the land they alleged co-owned.
He said after much argument, the pastor agreed after saying she contributed only N50,000 to the land.
“We were in a vehicle en route to the place at Atan Ota, when he started making a fake call for people to dig the grave. We had not gone far when the police came again and removed him from our midst. We had to abort the burial plan because it was already late,” he added.
He said the corpse was later deposited in a mortuary and buried at the Itele cemetery the following day.
When our Punch reached out to Olusegun on the video concerning his late wife, he denied that she was ever sick in his house.
He said, “My wife was never sick in my house. Actually, for the past three years, she had a painless lump on her breast. She was fine and did all her normal work. I, however, suggested to her to go to the hospital concerning the lump so it could be removed, but she said since it was not paining her, I should leave it.  I also called one of her relatives in Owo, who said I was being heartless for wanting them to remove the lump, which had been there for three years. I then stopped talking about it.
“I had gone for a pastors’ conference when she brought some of her relatives to the house. They broke down the door and took away all her property. She later told me her relatives advised her to abandon me over our childlessness.
“I was not the one that was not reachable on the phone, it was she. At a point, nobody even knew her location. When I was called that she was sick, I was surprised and couldn’t believe it.”
Olusegun, who insisted that he was tortured by his wife’s relatives until he was rescued by the police, showed copies of his medical report.
A report from the General Hospital, Sango-Ota, issued on February 8, 2016 by one Dr. Oyejoko S.A., said, “Case of gang beating and blunt injuries.”
The outpatient card read, “Was beaten thoroughly by a group of people. He sustained multiple injuries.
