18-year-old Nigeria starlet, Kelechi Iheanacho on Monday made it to the Manchester City subs’ bench in the team’s first match of the new EPL season against West Bromwich Albion.
City No 72 Iheanacho has enjoyed another superb run in City’s pre-season build-up and it has been known for a while now that he will feature for the club’s main squad this season after he was granted his work permit.
The chances of the 18-year-old forward has been further boosted with the departure of Jovetic and Edin Dzeko from The Etihad.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini has always rated the Nigeria U20 star as the future of the club.
However Ihenacho was not used for the match, leaving established stars, Vincent Kompany and Yaya Toure to inspire a 3-0 victory over West Brom.
