My Marriage Was Dissolved Illegally –Emeka Ike

Even as Emeka Ike’s marriage to his ex wife, Suzanne, was dissolved by the court not too long ago, Emeka said it was a “Kangaroo judgment”, as he didn’t sign any document and neither he nor his lawyer was in court.

Emeka said he would only sign the necessary documents if his estranged wife would debunk the stories of domestic violence against her.

“The court dissolved my marriage illegally; I want people to get it right. For you to dissolve a marriage, the man and his lawyer must be present in court to sign some documents. Ask them, was
either my lawyer or myself present in court on that day?

Is it possible to say the marriage has been dissolved? My wife says that I am a wife beater but the same woman two years ago in church during counselling, wrote it down that I am a caring man who is selfless and loves his family.

She wrote that I love her and my lawyer still has the written note. She made this statement at The Redeemed Assemblies of God church in Magodo, Lagos. Can I possess all these and still beat my wife? Six months  later, she began to sing another tune and I know she was advised by some people that it was the only way to leave the marriage.

“The reason why I have not signed the papers is because of the blackmail involved and my name that has been tarnished. She is spoiling my name; I would fight to clear myself of being called a wife beater with everything I have. I hate being referred to as a wife beater because I am not one. Any man that does that does not deserve to be called a father or a man because you are stronger than the woman,” he said.

“This is the story of my life. This is a woman whom I brought out of a one room apartment she was living with her mother, the other room was covered with zinc but I built a two-bedroomed apartment for them. I went to her village and built a three-bedroomed apartment for her. I trained her from secondary school to Master’s degree level. Is this how she is supposed to pay me back?

No one is looking at all this but they would go online to say that I am bitter. Some men suffer like me but they died for nothing. That is why I dedicated my award to all the men that lost their lives to the women they loved,” he said.

Also, recently, a picture of the actor and a lady surfaced online and so many believed the lady with him is the new love in his life.

But in the chat with Saturday Beats, Emeka said the lady is “just a friend”.

50 Cent Compares Wendy Williams To The Beast After She Attacks His Parenting

It's war between 50 Cent and Wendy Williams. The two let leash on one another on social media after chatshow host Wendy told the hip-hop star to 'get a life'. Her comments were sparked by his plans to throw a 'child support release party' on his son's 21st birthday.

In response 50 Cent, real name Curtis James Jackson III, took to Instagram, sharing a picture of Wendy on the beach in her bikini - and calling her 'ugly'.

Wendy Williams just told me to get my life together,' he wrote, adding the shorthand for 'shake my
head'.

He then referred to DailyMail.com's revelation that Wendy's husband Kevin Hunter has had a secret ten-year affair with a 32-year-old massage therapist.

'Your husband is not a bad man. he deserve a side chick for talking to you, you ugly motherf*****. Focus on your own s*** b****. Oh yeah we in club LUST tonight your invited.LOL #50centralbet.'
And 50 still wasn't done. He then shared a picture of Wendy, comparing it to one of Ron Perlman dressed as Vincent, the 1980s TV series Beauty And The Beast.

'Yeah b****, you f***ing around in the wrong section. Every time you call me, I'm a show up. #50centralbet.'

The row was sparked when 50 Cent shared his plans for his party when his son Marquise turns 21 on October 13.

Marquise responded by taking a shot at 50’s new sketch comedy show, writing: 'Damn, only if your new TV show was this funny!'

The two have long had a strained relationship.

Wendy quickly weighed into the family row on her TV show.

'He is Petty Spaghetti,' she said of 50. 'He's got real petty ways about him. I don't really understand it because he's got enough money to take care and support and whatnot.'

UNILAG Lecturer Stabs Postgraduate Student

A postgraduate student of the University of Lagos, Jimi Fatunbi, has been allegedly injured by two lecturers at the university campus.

Fatunbi told Saturday Punch on Friday how he was slapped and stabbed by the lecturers at about midnight on Wednesday.

He identified the lecturers as Dr.Babawale Taiwo and Dr. Israel Abiala, who lecture at the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics; and Arts and Social Sciences Education respectively.

It was gathered that the incident happened at the UNILAG’s Faculty of Education roundabout.

Fatunbi, studying for masters in English Language, is a resident of the Henry Carr Postgraduate Hall.

He explained that the incident, which started out as a conversation turned bloody when he alighted from his vehicle to complain about how one of the lecturers banged on the body of his car.

He said, “I went to take my car from Elkanemi hall, where it was initially parked, to Henry Carr. While I was reversing at Elkanemi Park, I discovered that a vehicle was behind me and the occupants (lecturers) of the vehicle said I was obstructing them.

“Dr. Taiwo started banging on my car. I felt he wanted to damage my car and I stopped. I came down to ask him what was actually wrong.

“I felt that if I was indeed obstructing, since I was moving away, there was no need for the attack.

“He said I had committed an offence and he needed to deal with me, being a lecturer. So, before I knew it, his colleague, Abiala came down from the same car and started manhandling me. In the process, one of them stabbed me in the face.

“I was shouting until students came around. I eventually called my hall executives and I was taken to the university’s Medical Centre for treatment.”

He said the lecturers were interrogated by the university’s security officials after they were informed of the situation.

When Punch correspondent visited the university campus on Friday, security officials at the Alpha Base (the university’s security house) confirmed that the case had been reported.

When contacted on the telephone, the Public Relations Officer of UNILAG, Toyin Adebule, also confirmed the incident, saying the management had been notified.

He said, “I have confirmed it myself. There is one Dr.Taiwo involved and the case was reported at our security post. The attention of the management has been drawn to the case and we are taking action. It is still under investigation.

“The dean and head of department where he works have been informed and the university has requested that the lecturer should come for questioning. We don’t condone indiscipline, hooliganism and violence from anybody at any level.

“The university is taking up the matter seriously and we will never leave any stone unturned until we get to the root of the matter. It could be cultism, money or anything. We want to know what caused the matter and we will get back to you. We have asked the security to go after him.”

Nigerian Troops Fighting Boko Haram Who Are Owed Two Months Allowances Cry Out

Nigerian troops fighting Boko Haram insurgents in North-east Nigeria have complained that they have not received their allowances in the last two months.

Some of the soldiers who disclosed this to Premium Times in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital on Friday said the situation was causing them hunger and deflating their morale.

The soldiers whose identity cannot be revealed because they are not allowed to talk to journalists, said they are paid N30, 000 monthly as operation allowance and ration cash allowance (RCA).

“We are being forced to reach out to the media, not because we want to indict anybody, but to cry out
and let the world, especially Nigerian government, know that we are dying of hunger here due to unpaid allowances”, said a ranked soldier who spoke to Premium Times reporter on phone.

“We that are under Operation Lafiya Dole are supposed to be paid special allowances of N1, 000 daily which amounts to N30, 000 or N31, 000 monthly as the case may be. But in the last two months now, nothing has been done in that regard.

“Also our RCA which takes care of the feeding of soldiers have also been defaulted, and this has left us in very dire situation with little or no morale to continue fighting.”

Officials at the Military Command and Control Centre, Maiduguri, confirmed the development but partly blamed it on the inefficiency in the banking system.

The aggrieved soldiers said they could not understand why they should be owed allowances since August even though those in authority knew how important the stipend is to them.

Another soldier of the junior rank cadre told Premium Times that the monthly stipend ought to be N45, 000, but the authorities deduct N15, 000 for common pool feeding for the troops especially those on the frontline.

“In the past, they used to pay it regularly. But now we are being owed for two months and we are already in the middle of October”, he said.

“The allowance generally, is N45, 000 that is supposed to be given. But they are removing N15, 000 for feeding, then they would pay N20, 000 into soldiers account and N10, 000 would be paid cash directly to soldiers.

“September was the second month that we have not been paid and you should know that it is affecting our morale because if you are working and what is due to you is being owed, it certainly affects your attitude to work. So we beg whoever that is holding this money back to kindly help us out”.

When Premium Times contacted the headquarters of the Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri with the soldiers’ complaints, the Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Onyeman Nwachukwu, a colonel, responded in a brief text message that the Command was not unaware of the challenges the troops are facing.

Resident Doctors Give 10-Day Strike Notice At UCH

Barely one month after their nationwide strike, the resident doctors at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, on Friday, gave the hospital management  another 10-day strike notice to protest unpaid salaries.

Segun Olaopa, the President of the UCH branch of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), disclosed this development at a news briefing.

Mr. Olaopa said the association’s dialogue with the hospital management on many occasions had yet
to yield any positive result.

“It has become imperative to draw the attention of the press to the brewing issues in UCH. These issues if not addressed, may impact negatively on the existing industrial harmony at the hospital.

“These issues include: non-payment of our September salary, 28 per cent shortfall in August salary, 2016 shortfalls of 11 months till date and work overload due to management’s refusal to employ new residents.

“Presently, the number of residents stands at 525; this has reduced to 454, as some of them have completed their residency. By this October, 40 among us will also finish the residency.

“The implication of this is that the remaining few residents are given work overload and this should not be; management should employ more residents to make the workload easy and to achieve maximum productivity.

“Resident doctors’ accommodations need to be rehabilitated. The conditions of those flats are nothing to write home about.

“We implore management to do the needful in order to avert another strike,” he said.

The association  went on a 10-day national industrial strike, which was suspended on Sept. 14.

Part of the outcome of the dialogue, which led to the suspension of the strike was  that  government would release money to pay the doctors’ backlog of salaries.

Pregnant Ladies Fight Soon As They Knew They Were Both Impregnanted By SAME Man

Two pregnant love rivals were filmed fighting over their cheating boyfriend - after discovering he was the father of both of their unborn children, it has been reported.

The two unnamed women came to blows while arguing in the street and exchanging heated words.

The man, dressed in a motorbike helmet, tried to separate them. According to local reports, the man has fathered both of their unborn children.

Local media reported that the man was hugging his girlfriend in the street when his secret lover
stormed up to them.

She confronted the pair and revealed she, too, is pregnant with his child – brandishing a mobile phone and referring to text messages between herself and the man.

The woman claims that he has not responded since she told him she was pregnant.

This sparked a furious row between the women, and the girlfriend of the man tells her to have some "respect" as he has chosen to live with her.

The girlfriend said: "You are going to have a child with and I have child with him. And so?

"Will not you respect us? He lives with me, and he already told you that he will answer you. And so what?"

Police finally arrived on the scene and appeared to try and control the young women.

The motorcyclist, still wearing a helmet, seemed to be more concerned about protecting his identity than ensuring the two pregnant women do not harm one another.

The incident occurred in Valledupar in the north eastern Colombian department of Cesar.

TV Viewers Shocked As Woman Reveals She Sleeps With Her 39-Year-Old Teddy Bear

This Morning viewers have mocked a woman who sleeps with her 39-year-old teddy bear. Hannah Ebelthit, 41, shares her bed with her despairing husband and the bizarre looking Paddington Bear.

However, the most shocking part of the story was the 'disturbing' appearance of the bear that looked like a 'dirty sponge'.

Hannah, who is obsessed with her cuddly toy, revealed that her husband Wesley believes it is a "health hazard" and is worried about sleeping with it every night.

The original Paddington Bear, which she's had since the 1970s, is so old that after years of wear and
tear the toy now simply resembles a piece of foam.

Hannah said: "He's always been there, just degraded over the years. Smell, memory, comfort. Having your childhood toy its always been there, been a part of you. It's seen me through having children, leaving home, it's always been there."

She revealed that son Theo doesn’t have many toys but Sam is more like her and "takes comfort" from knowing mummy has her toys.

Eamonn Holmes picked up her bear and compared it to a brand new one, with a stark contrast.

He referred to her bear as a "fillet of fish" that you would pick up at the chip shop.

They were joined by psychologist Bruce Hood, who explained why adults turn to comfort toys.

He said: "We're not sure exactly why it happens but it's a common aspect for Western children. We think it might be to do with sleeping practices . Being separated causes a degree of anxiety so they need to self soothe. What starts off as a simple aid to sleeping becomes like a living thing. This doesn’t really go away."

Hannah admitted that she would be "pretty devastated" if her bear was taken away and compared it to losing a memorable photo album.

I Will Definitely Wed My Babymama - D'Prince

Unlike so many celebs who don’t eventually tie the knots with the women that had babies for them outside marriage, Mavin Record artiste, D’Prince, has said he would eventually get married to his baby mama.

I definitely have plans to get married to the mother of my child and as we speak, we are dating; we are in a relationship.

I cannot say when I would get married because it is private information. The day I get married, no one would know. The reason why I am famous is because of my music and not my relationship life or
family, so I want that to be my focus.

What if my partner does not want to be in the limelight? I have to respect that. I don’t expose my private life,” D’Prince said,

The singer who has been away from the spotlight for some years said he had to take time off to raise his baby who is already two years old.

“I would not say that I disappeared from the entertainment scene. I have been up and about and beside, I have a baby and I had to travel to set up my house in America.

I was also recording album and even though this is my second album, it feels like my first. To be frank, I actually needed a quiet time to work on my music because a lot has been happening in the industry.  Also, scarcity also increases the demand for a commodity.

“Fatherhood has been awesome. Being a father has actually changed my life and because I have a child, I can say I am in a better place now. I wish this feeling of peace, settlement and vision for everyone.

A lot of test and challenges have come my way but being able to overcome them has really made me fulfilled. Initially when my child was born, I was in shock because I did not believe that I had become a father. But apart from that, there was nothing scary. When I knew I was having a baby, I was scared because I did not know what the future would hold.”

2 Nigerians Nabbed In Bangkok For Romance Scams

Two Nigerian nationals were arrested by The Immigration Bureau (IB) on Thursday, in Bangkok for allegedly running romance scams.

The suspects, Lawrence Osita Nwaenyi, 32, and Peter Stanley Chukwuebuka, 33, were arrested at a condominium in Prawet district.

According to IB acting commissioner Suthipong Wongpin, the duo allegedly used social media and
chat programmes to trick unsuspecting women into wiring money to them.

Pol Lt Gen Suthipong Wongpin said the suspects had opened Facebook pages using false identities. They posed as rich Europeans and approached and befriended female Facebook users.

If the women agreed to a chat, the suspects would make romantic overtures and express interest in investing in businesses with the victims.

In most cases, the IB acting commissioner said, the suspects told the victims they had gifts for them, sending them photoshopped pictures to make the scam look believable.

Other gang members would then call the victims, pretending to be either customs or embassy officials, to seek a fee for the delivery of gifts.

Many victims fell for the trick and wired money to the suspects' accounts.

The gang ceased contact with victims who became suspicious and would move on to find other people to hoodwink online.

Pol Lt Gen Suthipong said the two Nigerians spent most of their day working on the computer in their rented condo.

Police raided the room and caught the men red-handed as they were communicating with their victims, using chatting apps.

Police have charged Mr Osita with staying illegally in the kingdom and Mr Chukwuebuka with overstaying his visa.

They are reviewing evidence gathered from the condo to identify the victims, who will be interviewed later.

Rats’ Invasion: President Buhari Yet To Use Office 7 Weeks After

Almost two months after he returned to the country from his medical trip to London, United Kingdom, President Muhammadu Buhari has yet to return to his office inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

But the Presidency says the situation has not in any way hindered the President from performing his duties.

Buhari, who arrived the country on August 19 to a wild jubilation by Nigerians after spending over 100 days abroad, has been operating from an office located inside his official residence and another
one located inside the Presidential Banquet Hall.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, had said the President’s office needed renovation because of its devastation by rodents during his long period of absence.

“Following the three-month period of disuse, rodents have caused a lot of damage to the furniture and the air conditioning units,” he had said, explaining that it was impossible for the President to operate from the office in that condition.

Although he said he could not tell when the renovation would be completed, the presidential spokesperson had stated that the maintenance company had been asked to speed up its pace of work.

However, 56 days after the President’s return to the country, he has yet to resume in his office.

His residence and the Presidential Banquet Hall, where he operates from are less than five minutes’ walk from his office.

The President has been hosting meetings and other events in the two venues.

This week alone, he held separate meetings with some state governors and the nation’s security chiefs at the venues.

Governors that met Buhari during the week included Ibrahim Geidam of Yobe State;  Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State; Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State and Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.

The President has also been attending weekly meetings of the Federal Executive Council inside the Council Chambers located less than 50 metres to his office.

Buhari has also been joining Muslim faithful for Juma’at service inside a mosque located behind the Council Chambers.

When contacted on Friday, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said where Buhari has been operating from are also offices.

Adesina said the most important thing is that the President is working.

The presidential spokesman was, however, silent on when Buhari will resume in his main office.

“Office na office. He (the President) uses one now, and the work goes on,” he simply said.

Punch correspondent had sought to know from him the stage of the renovation in the President’s office; if there is any truth in the claim that Buhari does not plan to return to his office anytime soon; and when exactly he would return.

Man Wrongly Imprisoned For 23 Years For Double Murder, Finally Set Free

After being wrongly imprisoned for a double-murder for the past 23 years, Lamonte McIntyre walked out of Wyandotte County Courthouse a free man Friday to cheers from family, friends, and supporters.

On Friday afternoon, just two days into what was expected to be a week-long hearing to consider McIntyre’s exoneration, the Wyandotte County Dustrict Attorney Mark Dupree Sr., shocked the courtroom, when he said the county would no longer contest the facts of McIntyre’s innocence.

The courtroom erupted in simultaneous shock and joy.  Lamonte McIntyre, wrongfully convicted in
1994 for a double-murder he never committed, wept at the defense table.

McIntyre, arrested at age 17, had spent the past 23 years behind bars as part of two life sentences on two counts of murder.

He is now 41. When McIntyre stepped from the north side of the Wyandotte County Courthouse and detention center on Friday afternoon, just before 4 p.m., his mother ran and then walked toward her son as he was swarmed by media.

“I’m all right. I’m happy, you know,” McIntyre said to reporters. “I’m here thanking God. I’m thanking everybody who supported me and been here for me. It feels good. I feel good. I’m happy.”

Then he saw his mother.

“This is what I’m waiting on right here,” he said, embracing his mother, Rosie McIntyre, who muttered, “Oh, my Lord.” He hugged his brother and others.

“We’re here. So that means support and love is active,” McIntyre continued. “I’m glad that everyone showed up out here to experience it with me. I appreciate it a great deal.”

Asked what he might want to do in his first few moments of freedom, McIntyre joked: “I thought I wanted to eat something, but my nerves are so shot I can’t even eat right now.

“I think I’m just going to take a bath and just chill for a minute, let it all soak in, I think. But whatever I’m going to do, I’m going to enjoy it. I’m excited. On the inside, I’m bubbling over. I feel emotional. It’s been a long time coming.”

Nelly's Rape Accuser Drops Case

A woman who accused the multiplatinum rapper Nelly of raping her on his tour bus after a concert last weekend in Auburn, Wash., has told the local police that she will not testify against him and wishes to end the investigation, her lawyer said Friday.

“We do not live in a society where a 21 year old college student can feel safe enough to pursue criminal charges against a celebrity for an alleged rape,” Karen Koehler, the lawyer for the accuser, wrote in an open letter that she posted on Twitter.

She said the woman had made her desire to “put a halt to the criminal investigation” known to the
Auburn Police Department and the King County Prosecutor’s Office on Friday afternoon.

“She will not testify further in a criminal proceeding against him,” Ms. Koehler wrote.

Cmdr. Steve Stocker of the Auburn Police Department said that the investigation was proceeding as of Friday afternoon. “We’re not going to just halt the investigation,” he said. “We’re still investigating the case, and it’s probably going to be referred to the prosecutor’s office sometime next week.”

Scott Rosenblum, a lawyer for Nelly, said in a statement that the accuser’s desire to end the investigation was “welcome news.”

“This is simply not enough,” he added. “This type of reckless allegation is an affront to women who are real victims of sexual assault. I am suggesting that Nelly seeks a public apology. I am further suggesting that Nelly considers whatever legal options are available to him.”

In her letter on Friday, Ms. Koehler, the lawyer for the accuser, said: “Every step of the way since the time she called 911, she wishes she had not. Not because what happened didn’t occur exactly the way she described it. Not because she did not want the police to charge the celebrity with alleged rape.

“She wishes she had not called 911 because she believes the system is going to fail her.”

Citing harassment online and by the news media, Ms. Koehler added: “She cannot handle this. She is about to break. She wants to close the door. She wants this to end.”

The guardians became apprehensive when it was 4pm and she had not returned home. Record of the school reportedly revealed that she was absent that day.

Ajarat said the girl had been living with them since she was four years old, adding that she was surprised by her disappearance. She said it was the first time she would leave home without returning.

''But a cobbler around here told us that he fixed her torn sandal that morning. The cobbler said she seemed to be in a hurry as she told him that somebody was waiting for her''.

The girl was rescued last Saturday while living with a guard identified as John who is her lover in the Agbara area of Ogun State. John was apprehended along with a cobbler, Moses who hooked the girl up with John.

One of the guardians, Alhaji Rauf Adetona, said Ajibade confessed that it was the cobbler who hooked her up with John, adding that she spent four days with the lover.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed John and Moses’ arrest.

The girl has been reunited with her guardians and the suspects arrested and they will be arraigned for abduction.

***The questions many have been asking now is,"where did she spend the remaining three days if she only spent four days with them but was missing for 7 days?. Just recently, another young girl was declared missing, only for her to be found having a blast with some men.Not to talk of another underage Nigerian girl found with a boyfriend inside a hotel room sometimes back.
