IG user @hair_aholic took to her page to show off her amazing body transformation and also reflect on her amazing 2-years weight loss journey. She wrote;
"Reflecting on my weight loss journey being that next week I turn the page in my book & start a new chapter. Here are some pictures to sum up my over 2 year weight loss progress. I wanted to take a min to say thank you to each & everyone of my supporters ? you guys don't understand how much you play apart of my continued success... I post everything not just to motivate you all but also for accountability ?? that is the reason I started sharing so that so many ppl would be watching it
wouldn't be acceptable to fail (that probably sounds crazy) but seriously for me it's so much easier to fail in private than in public so I wanted to be as LOUD as I could I wanted the naysayers I wanted ppl to wait on my down fall because it only kept me going harder it only kept me pushing on the days I wanted to give up I knew someone was waiting for that & sometimes that pushes you more than you can push yourself. I don't share many before and after pics anymore because I've done it for almost 2 years now so I honestly don't even really think of it anymore but since I'm beginning this new chapter I wanted to remind myself of what it took to get here".

Egyptian Court Upholds Ex-President Morsi's Life Sentence

An Egyptian court has upheld a life sentence for ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi on charges of harming national security by leaking secret state documents to Qatar while he was in office.

Morsi, democratically elected after Egypt's 2011 revolution, was removed from his position in mid-2013 by a coup led by Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the army chief of the time. Morsi was immediately arrested after the coup and Sisi has been the president of the country since 2013.

The court also confirmed death sentences against three defendants in the same case.  There have been
no explanations yet for the rulings and they cannot be appealed.

In 2014, Egypt charged Morsi and nine others with endangering national security by leaking state secrets and sensitive documents to Qatar.

Morsi is already serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted for the killing of protesters during demonstrations in 2012.

Since toppling Morsi, Sisi has clamped down on dissent. Mass trials have been held for thousands of supporters of Muslim Brotherhood, which Morsi was a member of, and hundreds have received death sentences or lengthy prison terms.

Hate Speech, Quit Notices Will Hurt The Nation, Remi Tinubu Begs

The lawmaker representing Lagos Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Oluremi Tinubu, has said that hate speech and quit notices will only hurt the nation.

The senator spoke at a town hall meeting with her constituents on Friday at Arcade Hall, Eko Club, Surulere, Lagos.

She described Nigeria as a complex country, but noted that her greatness lies in the diversity of the different groups that make up the country.

A coalition of northern groups, popularly called Arewa Youths, had earlier issued an ultimatum to
Igbo in the North to leave the North by October 1, 2017, but following widespread condemnation, the group later rescinded the quit notice.

Tinubu commended the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, one of the member groups that formed the coalition, for prevailing on the youth to withdraw their call.

“I also appeal to others to follow suit and take back any statements capable of leading to hostilities and apprehension,” she said.

The town hall meeting, with the theme, “Embracing our Complexity and Diversity,” is the 23rd of its kind.

She called on Nigerians to re-evaluate themselves and those around them to adequately benefit from the diversity of ideas and experiences.

According to her, other states have a lot to learn from Lagos State.

She said that Lagos “with all the different ethnicities that make up Nigeria residing within her boundaries, has proven that it is possible to coexist peacefully.”

Madonna Hasn't Ruled Out Adopting More Kids

In an upcoming interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Madonna opens up about motherhood, adoption and the children's hospital she helped build in Malawi.

The 59-year-old songstress traveled with the CBS team to the African country to tour the hospital she helped build, the country's first.

The hospital is a culmination of her many visits to the small African country; visits which also inspired her to adopt four children, Mercy James, 11, David Banda, 11, Stelle, aged five, and Estere,
aged five, from the nation.

When asked if the singer would consider adopting more children, she was noncommittal in her answer.

'Who knows? Yeah, I – I never say never. You never know what surprise awaits you around the corner,' she admitted.

As her mother passed away when she was only five years old, she revealed that her own motherhood has been a form of therapy for her.

'Yeah. I get to become the mom I never had. So, yeah, it's a very healing experience,' she explained.

I Need To Marry A Man With 'Bad Boy' Character – Curvy Actress, Didi Ekanem

One man’s meat is another man’s poison. While some ladies would rather settle for a gentle, loving and kindhearted man, fast rising actress, Didi Ekanem wants a ‘bad boy’ for a life partner.

In this interview, the bootilicious role interpreter reveals reasons behind her decision. She also talks about her career and aspirations.

How would you describe the year 2017 career wise?

The year has been great so far; full of positive energy. Career wise, it has been a bit slow but surely
we will get there.

Have the new faces relegated you to the background?

Of course, no. It is because I am venturing into other personal things.

New things like..?

New things like fashion designing. I’ve just started a clothing line called ODÓT. It’s basically business.

What does ODOT mean?

ODÓT, which is actually abbreviated from Odotukpono, my native name. It means ‘I deserve honour’. ‘I’m worth it’.

It seems most actresses are going into fashion business, why did you join the trend?

I didn’t join any trend. I have always had love for fashion and beauty even before I became an actor. Growing up, before I went out, I’d dress up and UnCloth about 20 times until I find the perfect outfit for whatever event I was going for. It was a ritual and it continued till date. So, it’s only normal that I’m into fashion business today.

Do you have a range of clothes for ODOT, maybe just dresses, tops or natives?

I can’t say I have any particular type of clothes for ODÓT. All what I can say is that I am very particular about class and decency in creating ODÓT clothing.

Do you also intend going into movie production?

Talking about movie production, I can’t say anything about that for now.

I see the way you flaunt what you got on social media, most especially Instagram, do you often receive negative comments? If you do, how do you handle them?

I actually don’t pay attention to negative comments. But do you mean flaunting my clothes? It’s important I do that for the growth of my business.

Not clothes actually but your backside…

Oh that! Do you call it flaunting? For real? I don’t think so…

You know some men drool over big backsides; can you recall any embarrassing moment concerning this?

Please can we not talk about ass? Thank you.

What makes Didi. a unique actress?

The fact that my talent is unique. Everyone is blessed with different and unique talents.

Would you say you are fulfilled as an actress?

How can I be fulfilled when I’ve barely started? I am not fulfilled o, still hungry for more.

At what stage would you be fulfilled?

Emm… when I would have gotten that international recognition and probably break a record as the first Nigerian to win an Oscar for a role in a Hollywood movie.

What are the fond memories of your growing up days?

Growing up, I used to dance in my house and my dad would spray me money, while my siblings would cheer me up (Laughs). I was a fire dancer growing up.

Why didn’t you push the dancing talent in you?

I couldn’t, because at some point, I outgrew the energy.

How challenging was it for you at the beginning?

It wasn’t so challenging because I had done stage acting at the University of Port Harcourt for one year, prior to starting my acting career.

Were you at any point sexually harassed?

I wasn’t and never still. I had the right platform from Royal Arts Academy. That made it easy for me.

Have you always wanted to be an actress?

Yes, I have always wanted to be an actress. I knew it from my excessive watching of Nollywood movies during holidays. Everyday, my dad used to give me money back then, to rent movies… and everyone in my neighbourhood knew I was obsessed with movies. So, later when they started watching my movies, it was normal to them.

If you aren’t in the entertainment industry what else would you have been doing?

I haven’t actually thought of what else I could have done aside entertainment, because right from time, entertainment had always been on my mind; even though, my daddy wanted to force law on me at some point.

What kind of role will Didi reject playing?

It’s certainly going to be nude role. Over-exposing roles aren’t for me.

Can you date or marry an entertainer?

I can’t say who I can marry or who I can’t marry. Whoever God says is mine, is mine, be he an entertainer, engineer, doctor or pastor. My kind of man must be God-fearing. He must be respectful and caring, with a little bad boy character, obviously not a bore, a man that can love me right.

What does love mean to you?

To me, love means respect, care, understanding, patience, tolerance and trust.

Where do you see Didi and your fashion brand in five years?

In five years, I would have built a fashion and beauty empire, by the grace of God. Also, I would have won all the Best Actress awards there are to win.

Python Dance: Adeyemo Akintunde, US-Based Military Colonel Advises Nigerians (Pic)

Adeyemo Akintunde is thinking about life.
Yesterday at 2:32pm · Lansing, MI, United States. He wrote:

Re: "Operation Python Dance"

Here in the United States, I've worked with some top military brass (my boss in this picture is a colonel and counsel to General Vadnais of the United States Army).

Military strategists don't like war/conflicts, but they've no choice. In any military operation, things can get ugly very fast.

When I (as a law clerk to the General Counsel) participated in "Operation Northern Strike" scenario, Captain Ryan tasked me to review a pocket-size rule of engagement for soldiers, so I included all statutory and humanitarian laws in it.

During the simulation exercise, we got some feedbacks from foot soldiers and their leaders: JAG (acronym for military lawyers) officers are unrealistic, they said.

When real hostilities begin or any military operation is initiated, and a soldier faces an imminent threat to his life, he doesn't revert to a pocket-size manual on the rule of engagement (he doesn't call the Commander-in-Chief); his first instinct goes to his basic training: And that can mean anything, depending on individual soldiers.

Does a soldier face the risk of being tried in a military court, for violations of human rights? Yes, but guess who will judge him? A soldier (or soldiers) who had been in his shoes. With all the atrocities committed in Iraq, Israel, and Afghanistan, how many soldiers are in prison?

My point is this: Don't mess with soldiers with guns and bullets. Let's embrace peace, for "dead men tell no tales."

Akintunde F. Adeyemo.

'Irrespective of whatever provocation, Nigerians must never turn on each other' - GEJ reacts to recent acts of violence in the South East

Below is what he wrote on his Facebook page...
"The reports I have received about recent developments in the country lead me to appeal to all men of good will to use whatever influence they have to push for peaceful coexistence and restraint on all sides. Perhaps it is time for the Council of State to intervene and offer its wise counsel. Irrespective of whatever provocation, Nigerians must never turn on each other. Even in the face of difficult circumstances, we must have
faith that God in His infinite wisdom will guide us to finding a way out that is fair and just to all concerned. In as much as there may be a need to enforce order, there is a greater need to reinforce our humanity and treat Nigerian citizens humanely whether they be from the North or South. Nothing justifies the desecration and destruction of religious places of worship or a police station. But even more so, nothing justifies the endangering of human life. Let us exchange ideas instead of exchanging insults and threats. Nigeria is going through tough times because God wants us to grow through tough times. We must be resolute as a people even as we know that it is impossible to deny the brotherhood of all Nigerians after over a century of a shared commonwealth. GEJ".

‘I could buy an ass like your wife did - Wendy Williams blast TI for shaming her surgically enhanced body

Talk show host, Wendy Williams has clapped back at rapper T.I for throwing a subliminal jab at her surgically enhanced body.
Last week, the rapper took to Instagram to shame the 53-year-old host by posting photos of her in a black bikini, which shows her surgically enhanced assets.
He wrote: Ok now as much shit as this sister talk about people... (Myself included) I know what y'all
expect. But I'm not gon do the obvious & fye her ass up. NOPE!!! I'm gon be respectful because regardless of her flaws she's still a independent black business woman that's had to fight her way through life to get where she is. JUST LIKE THE PEOPLE SHE JUDGES DAILY!!! But I'm gon try something new & different this time. Let's see if the power of mercy moves her heart to not be so malicious & vindictive in the future when she's speaking on the lives of other strangers when they're going through their own PERSONAL tough times. That's my approach... let's see. ?

Reacting to his rant, she told the New York Daily News in an interview:
“I was just in Barbados with my husband on vacation. The paparazzi caught me. T.I. referenced my lack of behind,” she said.
“I wanted to say ‘I could buy one like your wife and so many people have done,’” Williams added. “I could buy one any day. It’s flat.”
Just so you know, T.I's  wife, Tameka “Tinya” Harris” has been honest about getting butt enhancements during an appearance on the Wendy Williams Show, where she also opened about the drama between her, T.I and his side chick Berniece Burgos.

500 Policemen Deployed To Aba To Restore Peace

The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Ibrahim Idris, has deployed over 500 Police Mobile Force men to Aba to restore peace in the troubled city.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Operations, Taiwo Lakanu, disclosed this on Friday during a duty tour to Aba, at the Aba Police Area Command.

He said that the I-G directed that peace should be restored to Abia, hence the deployment of the mobile policemen who had assumed duty in Aba.

“You can see that we have emplaced security and that the whole place is quiet and our men are on
patrol.

“For now we are still monitoring. So, for now there is no problem. We are on top of the situation. We are working in tandem with other agencies and they are cooperating with us,” he said.

Peace is gradually returning to the commercial city which was embroiled in a clash between soldiers and IPOB members in Aba.

Mama Taraba Apologises Over Atiku Statement

As a result of her public support for Nigeria’s former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar who she claimed is her godfather, Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajia Aisha Alhassan, who was summoned by her party, APC, over her political allegiance ahead of the 2019 presidential elections, reportedly apologized to the party over her comment which the party said were not well-thought out.

Confirming the essence of the meeting, spokesman of the party, Bolaji Abdullahi, said;

“Yes, the party invited her and she has come. When she came, we asked her to explain to us what truly transpired and in what context she said what she said and she did offer these explanations. Now,
having offered her explanations, we acknowledged that as a member of this party, she is entitled to her opinion and she is entitled to her choice.

However, as a senior member of this party, her statements represent an act of indiscretion because with the kind of position she occupies even within the party, she is a party leader in her own right, what she said was not what she was supposed to say at the time that she said it.

She ought to have exercised greater judgement than she did. She acknowledged that yes, maybe she ought not to have…maybe the timing was wrong and she apologised that if she had put the party in any difficult position, she apologised.”

Global Hunger Rises, Conflicts, Climate Fingered

Global hunger levels have risen for the first time in more than a decade, now affecting 11 percent of the world’s population, as conflict, climate change and economic woes bite, U.N. agencies said on Friday.

Last year, 815 million people were hungry - 38 million more than in 2015 - the five agencies said in the first global assessment since governments set an international target to eliminate hunger and malnutrition by 2030, as one of a set of so-called Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The number of hungry began to rise in 2014, but this is the first time in more then a decade that the
proportion of the global population going hungry has risen.

About 489 million of the hungry are living in countries affected by conflict.

“Over the past decade, conflicts have risen dramatically in number and become more complex and intractable in nature,” the heads of five U.N. agencies said in The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2017 report.

“This has set off alarm bells we cannot afford to ignore: we will not end hunger and all forms of malnutrition by 2030 unless we address all the factors that undermine food security and nutrition,” they said.

Famine struck parts of South Sudan earlier this year, and there is a high risk that it could return there - and develop in other countries affected by conflict: northeast Nigeria, Somalia and Yemen, the agencies said.

David Beasley, the head of the World Food Program (WFP) described the latest figures as “an indictment on humanity”.

Lagos Government Arrests Five For Urinating Openly On The Streets

In its efforts to rid the environment of all infractions, the Lagos State Government has arrested five individuals for urinating openly on the streets of Lagos.

The five persons, Bokovou Ettiene, Ajetunmobi James, Adeuga Adetola, Emmanuel Adekola and Ishola Akanbi,  were arrested by the Special Adviser to the Governor on the Environment, Mr. Babatunde Hunpe during his sanitation inspection tour of some Local Government Areas in the State on Thursday.

The Special Adviser, who was on tour of  Yaba, Mushin, Ojuwoye , Ojuelegba and Ojota areas of the
State to ascertain the performance of the sanitation intervention initiative inaugurated to cart away refuse on the street of Lagos,  reiterated the commitment of government to rid the State of all infractions, among which were open urination and defection.

Hunpe, while addressing the arrested people, warned them to desist from such act, stressing that it was mandatory for all petrol stations and eateries in the state to make their toilets available to members of the public whom he urged to always avail such facilities for their convenience, in addition to the public toilets in the state.

“There is no excuse for open urination and defecation as we have public toilets all over the state, while eateries and filling stations are compelled by law to keep their toilets neat and make them available to members of the public”, he said.

Upon obtaining the commitment of the apprehended quintet, who pledged to henceforth champion the ‘no open urination” cause of the Lagos State Government, Hunpe warned them against such acts in the future, stressing that government would not hesitate to bring the law to bear on anyone who is caught in the act henceforth.

He decried the practice of open defecation and urination, stressing that the effects on the environment and the wellness of the people were too serious to be ignored.

His words “Not only do they pollute the underground water, they contaminate agricultural produce, aid the spread of diseases and incapacitate the workforce.”
