An Indonesian woman was hospitalised after a Sharia court inflicted her with 100 lashes because she dared to be near a man who was not her husband.
Dressed in a Burberry-style headscarf, the 30-year-old can be seen kneeling on a public stage in Banda Aceh in front of a huge crowd.
According to the barbaric Islamic law, which rules over the region, she was guilty of adultery for
merely being in the presence of a man who she was not married to.
The woman, who was identified only as Mazidah, collapsed from her injuries inflicted by a masked enforcer and had to be taken to hospital.
The barbaric public lashings, which occurred yesterday in Banda Aceh came from the only province in the country to implement the Islamic punishment.
