Hilarious! See How Donald Duke was Admiring Omotola at Ben Bruce's 60th Birthday Bash (Photo)

A photo from the birthday celebration of Senator Ben Murray Bruce has made the rounds on the internet and has generated several opinions from Nigerians.

This photo shows former Governor of Cross River state, Donald Duke staring at Actress Omotola, has emerged online and has since gone viral.

It was taken last night at the birthday celebration of Senator Ben Murray Bruce as he turns 60.

The bone of contention is what was going through Duke's mind at the moment he seemed to 'admire' Omotola.

Many Nigerians in their usual hilarious ways have said the former governor was totally engorsed and carie away the actress' beauty. Others however belief he was just looking around.

What do you think about it?

A 72 year old man and 60 year old woman who have been living together for more than 45 years without bride price and marriage were joined in Holy Matrimony today, Saturday, February 20 at Omega Power Ministries, Port Harcourt.

The church announced the good news on their Facebook page, adding that they bankrolled the weddings of other 140 couples who have been living together for many years without legal marriage. They provided money for the bride price, wedding gown for brides, suit, shirt and even ties for the grooms absolutely free of charge.

"Why did I decide to do this ?" the Pastor asked.
"Every day I get sleepless night because of the amount of people living together when God has not joined them. IT IS A SIN BEFORE GOD. Do you know that; one out of every five people you see in the street are living together without being legally married," he said.

"If Rapture happens now , they will all miss Rapture. So what is the solution ? Solution Number one: Couples must Live apart until you get money to WED. Which is very risky. Any of those women can be my sister or maybe she already has 5 children. The woman will suffer. And a strange woman may take advantage to come in. Solution number two: Legalise their union. But many don't have money to legalize it. They already have children, but no money to pay bride price. So that is why I decided to intervene, so when Rapture happens they shall not be found wanting.

"What is a church building when the people inside the building have visa to go to Hell-fire. Salvation is better than beautiful church building. This is why I conducted marriage blessing for 140 couples @ OPM headquarters. By the grace of God, I gave them money to pay bride price which they have traveled and come back after paying. I bought wedding suits and gowns including shirts and tie for 140 couples.

Paid for marriage certificate and paid for food, drinks that will be used for their reception. Now I can sleep well knowing that extra 140 souls have been added to the kingdom of God."

STATES OWE $3.3B FOREIGN DEBTS – SHEHU SANI

STATES OWE $3.3B FOREIGN DEBTS – SHEHU SANI

Shehu Sani

The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani, has raised the alarm over the huge debt profile of state governments in the country, saying collectively, they (states) owe $3,271,960,461 foreign debts.

In a statement on Saturday, the senator said that most of the debts were loans collected to provide infrastructure or to create investment opportunities and that many of them might take up to 50 years to service.

Sani alleged that most of the foreign and domestic loans collected by the states were, however, spent on personal luxuries or wasted in maintaining local political empire or even used to finance white elephant projects and unrealistic political campaign promises.

He expressed the fear that states in the country could end up failing if they kept on borrowing at the current pace, without adequate plans and enough resources to service them.
Sani, who is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debts, restated his opposition to the plans by northern governors to obtain huge loans from the Saudi Arabia-based Islamic Development Bank, insisting that the money might end up again in private pockets.

He said, “The Northern Governors had through their Chairman, the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, reacted to my opposition to their move to secure loan from the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia.

“They insisted I am wrong and they are right. I wish to respond to them. The current foreign debt profile of Nigerian States stands at $3,271,960,461.03. Most of these debts were loans collected in the name of infrastructure or investment.

“There is no tangible infrastructure development in the North commensurate with amount of loans collected by the state governments in the last two decades.

“Most states are incapable of servicing their debt in the next 50 years. Taking cognisance of the current state of our economy, we have been plunged into a debt trap, which our grandchildren will not even be able to pay.

“There is no single export-based investment or industry in the North that is currently in operation towards generating and attracting $1m monthly of foreign exchange”.

OMG! See What Donald Trump Said About Michael Jackson's S*x Life with Elvis Presley's Daughter

OMG! See What Donald Trump Said About Michael Jackson's S*x Life with Elvis Presley's Daughter

Outspoken and highly controversial U.S presidential candidate has spoken out on what he knows about the king of pop, Michael Jackson's s*x life.

Donald Trump claims that Michael Jackson was so randy when he married Elvis’ daughter, Lisa-Marie Presley, that the pair locked themselves in a luxury apartment for seven days of sex.

According to Mirror Online, the U.S presidential runner told the tale about the late pop star while being interviewed at the CNN Republican town hall in South Carolina.

Trump, 69, said about Jacko and Lisa-Marie’s 1994 honeymoon at the Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida: “I knew Michael Jackson very well. He lived in Trump Tower for a long period of time and would go down to Mar-a-Lago.

“He actually got married – you know, to Lisa Marie Presley – and had a big deal at Mar-a-Lago. He was up there one week with her, sex and all, and he never came down... but they got along.

“People say they didn’t get along but let me tell you they were there for a week and didn’t come down at all.”

Trump also spoke of how he knew “the real story” of Michael Jackson and claimed the singer died after he lost all self-esteem due to “bad, bad, bad surgery”.

He added: “Michael Jackson was actually a very good friend of mine. You know, when he died people would come on and talk about him – people who didn't know him very well.”

Michael Jackson and Lisa-Marie Presley

Trump continued: “Because very few people got to know Michael Jackson but he was an unbelievably talented guy and he lost his confidence. He lost all his confidence. Honestly because of bad, bad, bad surgery. He had people that did numbers on him that was just unbelievable.

“And when you lose your confidence in something you can even lose your talent.”

However, Trump’s comments prompted Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine Jackson to fly into a fury yesterday. The former Jackson 5 singer Jermaine, 61, vented on Twitter that Trump was a ‘fool’ who needed to ‘sit down’ when it came to talk of his brother.

He also accused Trump of name-dropping to try and win votes. Jermaine tweeted: ‘Friends don’t pay tribute by peddling b.s. theories about Michael’s “loss in confidence”. This fool Trump needs to sit down.

‘Michael’s confidence was affected by the pressures, injustice and vitriol of external circumstances. Period. Name-dropping Michael don’t make you cool and won’t win you votes. Especially when using botched facts. It’s “botched surgery” talk that I don’t expect from a friend.’

Usually very outspoken on Twitter, Trump has remained quiet on the social network since Jermaine’s outburst.

Jebose Boulevard: Mystery: India-based Nigerian dies on eve of elder brother’s burial

Jebose Boulevard: Mystery: India-based Nigerian dies on eve of elder brother’s burial

Francis Okika Diei

By the close of the 70s, the Nigerian nation was experimenting on its second attempt at democracy. The era ushered in democratic governance from years of military dictatorship. The new political breed lacked leadership and nation building experience. There was massive corruption and indiscipline. Politicians were enriching themselves with the nation’s wealth and destroying the economic fabric of a new second republic. The nation was fragmented. Schools turned out graduates with no jobs. Life was hardest. Surviving in the then Nigeria was tough as youths wandered aimlessly and endlessly in search of employment or engagement. This disorganised and chaotic situation led to the coup of 1983 by the then military leader, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Most young Nigerians had given up hopes of surviving in their own country because of the economic hardships and unemployment. Inflation was extreme. Life was torture. Frustrated and unemployed young Nigerians desperately sought new beginnings with their lives in any country but Nigeria. Nigeria witnessed massive exodus of its youth to Europe, America and Asia in search of better opportunities. Francis Okika Diei was one of Nigeria’s brilliant and determined youth that were failed by their country then. He was youths, educated yet disenchanted. He, too, like most young Nigerians, didn’t want to waste his young life in a nation that had no future for him. Disappointed and disillusioned by his dear native land, Okika, as he was called, joined many frustrated young Nigerians of early 80s in migrating. He chose India. India became his second home for the next three decades, until last Saturday.

Okika embraced India and the Far East Asian country welcomed and accommodated him. It inspired him to pursue his dreams in life. He worked hard. He initially experienced culture shocks and transitional challenges of an immigrant in a new socio cultural environment. Those periods made him stronger. He was determined to excel in his challenges and in a new environment. He worked extremely hard, respecting and obeying the country’s laws. India opened up opportunities for him. The economic structure and climate encouraged entrepreneurship. Okika took advantage of what this great nation offered: the hospitality and opportunity to become successful. He became a merchant of textiles, dealing in all things clothing and textiles. Okika visited Nigeria occasionally. As the years rolled by, he would visit home to see his immediate family on special holidays, his annual vacation or when he felt he wanted to be with “my family”. The family comprises his late parents and siblings.

He also explored expanding his emerging business in Nigeria. Although Nigeria never offered him hope as a young citizen, he didn’t blame the nation state.

“Jebose, our country has been marginalised by our rogue leaders through the years, that’s why most of us ran away. But it’s still our nation and we must always return to invest in it, create opportunities for others with our investments. Nigeria is investors’ haven,” he once said during a facebook chat few years ago. Hence he frequented Nigeria within the past decades to invest in an unstable economy.

About nine years ago and during one of his regular visits to Nigeria, Okika met a charming girl next door. Her name is Adaeze. Few months after they met, they got married. The marriage to a beautiful home girl sparked reasons to spend more time on each visit to Nigeria. The new couple was blessed with amazing two daughters. Life was happening so fast and fascinating for the young family. Okika would sneak into the country and stayed several months, spending time with his family in Abuja.

“He was such a quite loving father and husband. You could see how much he cherished and loved his young family”. Friends and family sources said he was also considering a permanent return to Nigeria as life had blessed him with an awesome family.

Last December, he returned to Nigeria and took his family to India to spend the holidays with him. Meanwhile, his eldest brother, the first sibling in his family had died in Lagos. The body of his eldest brother was moved to a mortuary close to their hometown of Onicha Ugbo. The family had planned funeral in January.

His wife, Adaeze, and the daughters were flabbergasted in India. They had stunning moments with their father and husband. Okika shared these proud, profound and enriching moments with his family vacationing in India on his daily facebook posts. He was a happy man, surrounded by the most beautiful treasure on earth, his gift from God: his wife and children, in his second country, India, a country he adopted many years ago.

The wife and daughters returned after the vacation in January to attend the funeral of Okika’s eldest brother in Onicha Ugbo mid last month. But he stayed behind in India to attend to urgent business and planned to join them later. The morning of the burial, Ogbuefi Donatus Diei, Okika’s immediate elder brother got a phone call from India.

“ Jebose, I was on my way to the mortuary to bring home the body of my elder brother when I received a phone call from Okika’s friend in India. He told me he had been trying to call me the previous night. He said Okika called him and asked him to urgently come to his home because he was having a severe chest pain. The friend lived about one hour from Okika. He drove to his apartment after the distress call. When he got there, he banged at the door several times. There was no answer. He then looked around the building, found the landlord and a forced entry to Okika’s apartment was initiated. He was found dead by the door.

“The landlord called New Delhi police. The police came and his body was moved to the hospital where an autopsy confirmed he died of cardiac arrest. I am still stunned. I didn’t know what and how to tell my family that I lost my younger brother the day we were preparing to bury our elder brother. I composed my pains and allowed the burial of our elder brother to be completed before I finally broke the news to his young wife. Life, my brother. This Life…”

Last Saturday, Francis Okika Diei’s body was returned from India. His family prepares to bury a younger brother that died the night of the wake keep of their eldest brother. His young distraught wife is still in shock and traumatised. She summed up her pains in her facebook picture caption of their last picture together, thus:” So this is our last outing together?”

WARNING THERE’S A NEW DEADLY DISEASE WORSE THAN HIV

WARNING THERE’S A NEW DEADLY DISEASE WORSE THAN HIV

Human Papilloma Virus, or commonly referred to as HPV, is accountable for the outbreak of a new deadly disease. It is predicted that this new epidemic, even deadlier than AIDS, will claim many lives. The following key points explain why HPV is deadlier than HIV.

1. The Condom Misconception

There’s a common misconception that condoms offer full protection against most sexually transmitted diseases, including HIV/Aids. But, according to new research, condoms cannot provide 100% protection against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), which can spread through skin-to-skin contact with infected areas of the skin not covered by the condom such as the male and female genitalia. This is especially serious for women because HPV is a silent killer that can be inactive, thus unnoticed for years before it attacks.

2. The HPV Nightmare

The most widespread STI in the United States, Human papilloma virus (HPV) is the name for a group of viruses that affect your skin and the moist membranes lining your body, for example, in your cervix, anus, mouth and throat. There are more than 100 types of HPV, many of which cause nasty looking warts.

3. A Prolific Virus

HPV is a common and highly contagious infection, with over three quarters of sexually active women acquiring it at some time in their lives. HPV is sexually transmitted, but skin-to-skin genital contact is also a well-recognized mode of transmission. This means that condoms cannot give full protection.

4. Contracting The Virus

HPV is mainly transmitted through sexual contact and most people are infected with HPV shortly after the onset of sexual activity. But HPV can be passed even when the infected individual has no signs or symptoms of the virus. In some cases it takes years for symptoms to appear, and rarely people never experience any symptoms during their life.

5. Links To Cancer

Cervical cancer is by far the most common HPV-related disease. Nearly all cases of cervical cancer, which is the leading cause of death in women, can be attributed to HPV infection. In fact, two types of the HPV, types 16 and 18, are responsible for almost 70% of all cervical cancer cases.

Village bans mobiles for single women

Village bans mobiles for single women

A village in Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat has banned single women from using mobile phones, with elders deeming the technology a “nuisance to society”.

Members of the Suraj village council in Mehsana, the premier’s home district, passed a resolution in early February outlawing the use of mobile phones for teenage girls and young women.

“Community leaders felt that just like liquor, the use of mobile phones by unmarried women was a nuisance to society,” village head Devshi Vankar told AFP, adding that a similar ban would be announced for school-age boys soon.

He said mobile phones were distracting unmarried women from carrying out their studies and household chores in the village, which has a population of 2,000.

If caught owning or speaking on a mobile phone, the violators will face a 2,100-rupee ($30) fine, according to the council, which is also offering 200 rupees to informers for tip-offs.

However, they can talk on their parents’ or relatives’ phones.

The ban was imposed at a meeting originally called to discuss the community’s growing alcohol abuse problem.

It comes amid a nationwide campaign by Modi to spread the use of technology in rural India.

Last year the government launched its “Digital India” initiative to help boost connectivity in India, where nearly a billion people do not have access to the Internet.

Head of Jonathan's 2011 Presidential Campaign, Dalhatu Tafida Dumps PDP, Says the Party No Longer Has Focus

Head of Jonathan's 2011 Presidential Campaign, Dalhatu Tafida Dumps PDP, Says the Party No Longer H

Dalhatu Tafida

Founding member of the PDP and immediate past Nigeria's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida has dumped the embattled opposition party.

Tafida, who headed victorious ex-President Goodluck Jonathan's presidential campaign in 2011, said PDP market in Nigeria's politics is over, and no sensible man will remain in a market that has closed.

The top politician, while speaking in a special BBC Hausa interview monitored in Lagos, said there is no more respect for the party across the country.

"I have decided to leave PDP, and I will not join another party. I left because there is no focus, if a market is over, a responsible man should go home. Now the market is over. It was good in the past, but now it is the worst, with impunity and confusion.

"The party has been destroyed and reduced to nothing, and I have decided to dump the party. I don't think our stay in the party is wise, because the people now abuse everyone, and no one will even listen to you."

Tafida, who is from Kaduna, also condemned the way and manner the party is being run by party leaders hurling series of insults daily and refusing counsel by respectable elders.

I Will Jail Even My Own Blood To Rid Nigeria Of Corruption – Buhari

I Will Jail Even My Own Blood To Rid Nigeria Of Corruption – Buhari

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday insisted that no stone will be left unturned in his stride to rid the country of corruption. He made the remark during a reception for members of the diplomatic corps at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Stressing that Nigeria’s democracy is growing and gaining ground, he said that there is no alternative to democracy.
According to him: “We are resolved to build a stable and prosperous Nigeria, a country that is inclusive of all her diverse peoples and a country that is at ease with itself. “Building such a country will not be possible where corruption is pervasive.

Mindful of this, it has become necessary to wage a relentless war against the cancer of corruption. So long as corruption holds center stage in the affairs of Nigeria, the country will continue to suffer incalculable harm.

“You are witnesses to the preliminary findings that have emerged in the past few weeks from our investigations into corrupt practices in different sectors of Nigeria’s Public Service. “I will leave no stone unturned in the efforts to rid Nigeria of corruption. I must however, add that in doing this, we shall operate within the ambit of the law.

“In a similar fight in the past, and armed with the might of military muscle, I led a government that required persons presumed to be corrupt to prove their innocence. Today, as committed democrats, and in a culture of deepening democracy, we respect the law that presumes all persons innocent until they are proven to be guilty.” He said

The President also said: “We are also convinced that there is no alternative to democratic governance, adherence to the rule of law, respect for human rights and adherence to constitutional order. Upholding these values remains the essential for peace, stability and development.”

He noted that the war against terror cannot be won by the military alone, but by soft approach that speaks directly to the human mind.

While stressing that the Armed Forces have been given specific instructions on rules of engagement to treat captured terrorists humanely and to avoid civilian casualties, he said that his administration has witnessed resurgence in the morale and will of the Nigerian Armed Forces to dislodge Boko Haram from their bases in the North East.

He said: “The changes in both command structure and operational tactics have brought about significant gains on the ground. “It is worthy to note that when I assumed office on May 29, 2015, Boko Haram had full control of fourteen (14) Local Governments Areas in the North East, but today, the group holds no territory in Nigeria.
“They are hiding in Sambisa forest and occasionally undertake cowardly attacks on innocent citizens in soft targets.” He said

The President said that people who were once internally displaced from their homes for years are gradually returning to rebuild their homes, communities and livelihood. “As the security situation continues to improve, and as more people return to their homes, government will spare no effort to support them with robust programmes and projects to hasten the process of rehabilitation and resettlement.”

He added that Noting that the General T.Y Danjuma-led Committee has been saddled with the responsibility of coordinating the rehabilitation and resettlement efforts, he thanked friends and partners for their invaluable support towards Nigeria’s fight against Boko Haram.

He said: “We are quite aware that the war on terror will not, and cannot be won by military means alone. We need a soft approach that speaks directly to the human mind. Poverty and hunger do not only incapacitate, but they can lead to desperation.

“We are also aware that poverty and marginalization, amongst other factors, can easily create room for indoctrination and co-option into violent extremism. “Accordingly, we are paying attention to those economic programmes that will lead to empowerment of the people and thus provide an alternative lifestyle of fruitful engagement rather than resort to extremist and terrorist activities.

Job creation and provision of quality education are key areas that are already receiving our attention.” He said
While saying that Nigeria has no choice and cannot afford to be an island in itself, he said that the Foreign Policy vision of his administration is anchored on meaningful engagement with Nigeria’s neighbors, the African continent and the world at large.

“We would continue to build strong partnerships, strengthen regional ties and promote global solidarity. Nigeria will remain a responsible and active member of the international community; promoting tolerance, accommodation, reconciliation and pacific settlement of disputes.

We will also continue to shoulder responsibilities in peace keeping under the auspices of the United Nations.” He said.

Noting also that it is a duty not to hand down to the next generation a world that is deeply divided and threatened by nature, he commended the global adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.

“Today we can celebrate these great achievements in the hope that full implementation and delivery on the promises of these frameworks, will lead to growth and development.” He said

He also promised that Nigeria will accord priority to the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals and the commitments of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change.
He said: “We are under no illusion that achieving these objectives will be easy.

We are however, undaunted in our resolve to overcome.
We will continue to do all we can to make life safe for our citizens and all residents of Nigeria.” To those interested in doing business in Nigeria, he said: “We are open for business. We invite those who are ready to come to invest in Nigeria. We will protect their persons as well as their investments.”

According to him, his administration will take the necessary steps to overcome new and old challenges in the country and enhance national unity, internal cohesion and give Nigeria the image that will be a pride to Nigerians, friends in Africa and beyond.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, the Dean of Diplomatic Corps who is the Camerounian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Saladeen Abbas, said that the reception was a milestone in the history of diplomatic corp in the country. “The massive turn out of my colleagues is a testimony that we love Nigeria, we love Baba Buhari.” He said

He congratulated the President for the steps being taken to tackle the challenges facing the country.
Stressing that the President’s actions are already yielding results, he said that the international community will continue to support Nigeria.

Even with the falling oil prices at the international market, he was certain that there is light at the end of the tunnel for Nigeria with President Buhari at the saddle.

Report Crime to the Police, Not to Social Media – Lagos State Commissioner of Police

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Fatai Owoseni has told residents of the state to alert the police of any crime in their neighborhood rather than ‘breaking the news’ on the social media.

Mr. Fatai Owoseni while addressing newsmen in Lagos on Friday, called on Nigerians to instantly alert the police of any crime, rather than hoarding the information and waiting to post it on the social media thereafter.

He said, “We have launched police application on smart phones. We have hot lines which are in public domain and we have telephones at every police station where the public can reach us at any time of the day or night.

“There is usually a police team at every point in the state and crime could be combated easily and quickly if the police would get the
information instantly”.
“When they hoard information, we could have used that time to deal with the situation promptly. So, we beg the public to help us in
order for us to help them. It is their taxes that are used to pay our salaries. We are always there for the public.”

The Police Commissioner further noted that policemen experience avoidable challenges from residents when they want to respond to distress calls.

Owoseni said, “Sometimes, we get distress calls, when we get to some streets, we find the gates locked and the gatemen manning would be
nowhere to be found. This contributes to ways criminals get away with crime easily.
