Rivers rerun: Fayose reveals plans to kill Wike before Saturday as he attacks Buhari, APC

Fayose accuses APC-led FG of trying to kill Governor Wike

Withdrawal of Wike's CSO: Fayose raises alarm

- Governor Wike has raised the alarm that his Chief Security Officer has been withdrawn five days to the Rivers state rerun election

- Governor Fayose condemned the removal of Wike's CSO

- He alerted the international community on the imminent danger being posed to Nigeria by the APC-led federal government

- According to him, it was clear they actually want to kill Governor Wike before the Saturday election

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has raised an alarm over the imminent danger being posed to Nigeria by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government.

He said it was getting clearer that Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state was right when he claimed that there was a plot to assassinate him before Saturday, The Punch reports.

Fayose was reacting to reports that Wike’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) has been withdrawn ahead of the state’s legislative rerun holding on Saturday, December 10.

Speaking on Monday, December 5, at Khana local government area when he led PDP candidates to campaign at Babbe, Ken Khana and Nyor Khana Districts, Wike claimed that his CSO was withdrawn alongside several other policemen from Government House, Port Harcourt.

He added that the police high command also effected the transfer of 500 senior and junior police officers from the state and posted to the state, policemen saddled with ulterior agenda.

In a swift reaction, Governor Fayose said: “With this ignoble action by the federal government, it is now clear that the federal government is out to subvert the will of the people of Rivers State by whatever means in favour of the All Progressives Congress.

“Nigeria deserves total attention from the international community at this time. The international community should not look the other way while those holding power in Abuja plunge the country into crisis of international magnitude.”

He wondered how anyone could tamper with security aides of a state governor without his consent.

“Isn’t it now clear that they actually want to kill Governor Wike before the Saturday election?” Fayose queried.

The special assistant to the governor on public communications and new media, Lere Olayinka, quoted the governor as saying all steps being taken by the federal government were geared towards turning Nigeria to a one party state.

Fayose stressed that Nigeria can never be turned to a one party state, adding that by the time the APC cabal destroys the house of democracy, no one will be spared.

He reminded President Muhammadu Buhari that he swore to protect all Nigerians, irrespective of the party they belong to.

Earlier, Governor Wike declared Wednesday to Friday as fasting days for the December 10 rerun elections. He called on the people to use the three days to pray for peaceful and credible elections.

He alleged that the Inspector General of Police held a meeting with the opposition political party with an agenda to rig the December 10 legislative rerun, calling on the youths to protect their votes.

Meanwhile, the APC in Rivers state is wondering why Wike was hysterical over APC candidates.

“Definitely, APC candidates are busy campaigning for the rerun election while governor Wike is busy with his circus show. We wish him luck," the party said.
