The incident which occurred at Origin Jetty, few meters after sailing, saw the entire passengers trapped under the boat which had sunk into the water.
As at press time, 27 persons have been reportedly rescued.
An unnamed official of the Lagos State Waterways Authority, LASWA, told New Telegraph, that the incident occurred when the boat rammed into wooden logs on the waterway just after it sailed off from the shore.
The official said, “27 passengers have been rescued out of 28 people in the boat by LASWA water guards.
“Efforts to rescue the remaining passenger are ongoing while agency has also commenced investigations into the accident.”
