The publisher of Ovation magazine, Dele Momodu, has released photos of cancer-stricken Nigeria's former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, in the inaugural issue of a brand new tabloid titled Boss magazine.
We read an interesting report by Punch where so many targets were set by the President for the recently appointed ministers
Read them below;
The report says the president charged the new ministers to fulfill the the promises contained in the manfesto of the APC, during its campaign, and that the ministers will be assessed based on the set goals of this administration.
On Agriculture and Food Security:
The 29 paged party manifesto says the All Progressives Congress-led administration will embark on a massive and comprehensive re-organisation and revolutionalisation of the agricultural industry.
The objective, it adds, is to sustain agriculture as the strategic engine and prime-mover of national economic development to feed the nation; to supply the raw material for industrial processing and manufacturing; and to earn stable remunerative prices in the local and international market.
Incidentally, the Minister of Agriculture, Chief Audu Ogbeh, played a key role in drafting the document.
The APC promised to vigorously pursue the expansion of electricity generation and distribution of up to 40,000 megawatts in four to eight years.
It also says the party will work assiduously at making available power from renewable energy sources such as coal solar, wind and biomass for domestic and industrial use, whenever these prove viable.
The party promised to revamp the railways, waterways and road transportation noting that these are key to economic growth and development.
On Mineral and Steel Development:
The party said, it will invest heavily in the abundant solid mineral resources in all parts of Nigeria in a bid to create jobs, alleviate poverty and provide critical infrastructure.
The manifesto says the APC in government will, after carrying out a thorough review of the education sector and having established the main causes of the sector's terrible decline, fully implement and enforce the provisions of the Universal Basic Education Act with emphasis on gender equity in primary and secondary school enrolment whilst improving the quality and substance of our schools.
It also promised to reinstate the now abandoned Teacher Teaching Colleges to train teachers, target up to 10 per cent of our annual budget for the sector whilst making substantial investments in training programmes at all levels of the educational system, re-introduce Technical and vocational education nationwide.
The party also promised to provide adequate material support to such institutions, energise the inspectorate divisions of education ministries nationwide, and offer free and qualitative primary and secondary education to all but to tertiary level for women among others.
It hopes to rationalize health care delivery through conscious efforts to enhance primary health care facilities across Nigeria and reduce costs and unnecessary pressure on secondary/tertiary health care facilities and increases the quality of all Federal Government owned hospitals to world class standard within five years.
The document also declares the APC's readiness to provide free ante-natal care for pregnant women, free health care for babies and children up to school age and for the aged and free treatment for those afflicted with infectious disease such as tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS and to boost the local manufacture of 70 per cent of pharmaceuticals and make drugs for HIV/AIDS available.
Economic and Social Development:
According to the document, the APC-led administration will also vigorously pursue, promote and accelerate this sector, through industrialisation to create jobs, wealth and reduce poverty.
These are all commendable targets. But let's forget all these big grammar jor...lol
My target for the ministers, especially Power, Science & technology, Transportation and Trade, Investment & Industry are: 4years of uninterrupted power supply, Turn Aba into Silicon Valley and For God's sake, please put a stop to over-crowding in buses, for instance in some states, you'll see four people occupying the backseat of a cab or two people occupying the front seat of a cab.. All that craziness must stop.
Do you have targets for our Ministers? Let's hear em dearies.
When it seems like Lamar is on a smooth road to recovery, it has been reported that he is encountering some serious bumps along the way.
According to reports, the 35-year-old who was found in a hotel after going on a cocaine binge, is finding it difficult to recognise some of his friends and family members. In an interview with talk show host Ellen Degeneres, ex-wife Khloe Kardashian revealed that Lamar doesn't know why he has brain injury. 'I can't tell him. We tell him he had a brain injury, I can't tell him how that brain injury was caused. It will set him back.' she told Ellen.
Lamar's condition is so bad he can hardly put words together or communicate properly; he even sometimes forgets his age, according to TMZ reports.
'Sometimes he knows who the president is, and his birthday, and other times he thinks he's 26, and I say: "I bet you wish you were 26, so do I." Khloe stated.
She also added that though he has a long road to recovery, she is quite hopeful his situation will improve.
The three-time reigning champion of the Mr Ugly Zimbabwe contest faces stiff competition from a record number of challengers.
William Masvinu is eager to hold onto his title because being the reigning champ makes him popular with the ladies.
Masvinu has held the tile since 2012.
Pageant organizer David Machowa said a record number of 36 hopefuls will compete for entry into the Nov. 20 finale. That's up from only 5 competitors in the 1st annual Mr. Ugly contest in 2011.
He said contestants score the highest points on facial features. "We are looking for natural ugliness," Machowa said.
"People have always seen ugliness is something to be ashamed of," said Machowa. "Looks are God given. We should all be proud of who we are."
The winner takes home $1,000 and the undisputed champion's crown. The cash prize is a sign of the contest's growing popularity.
Masvinu won $100 and a voucher for a free overnight stay in a hotel in 2012.
He traded in the voucher for food.
Masvinu had hoped his triple wins would bring in advertising offers, but so far the offers have not materialized. He still works hauling groceries for $10 a day, but that could change as word of Zimbabwe's Mr. Ugly competition spreads.
The contest is sponsored by the owners of Harare nightclubs, which plans to expand the contest into other countries in southern Africa.
So far there are no plans for a female version of the 'Ugly' competition.

According to Daily Post reports, one Okon Michael, 50, an indigene of Mbak Ekpe in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom state, who raped a two-year-old girl has confessed to the crime saying he was under the influence of an evil spirit.
While being paraded on Wednesday at the Ikot Akpan Police Headquarters of the state alongside other suspects arrested for various offences, the man who spoke to journalists said he didn't know what came over him.
Fielding questions from newsmen, Michael further insisted that he was under the influence of an evil spirit when he committed the crime.
"Even as I am standing before you, I do not know what came over me and what had really happened. Someone came to my house and told me something serious was going to happen to me but I did not take it seriously," the 50-year-old noted.
Both he and the evil spirit should be flogged with hot iron and locked up for a very long time.
We have heard of this kind of beauty regimen but never believed someone would be bold enough to try it.
A beauty blogger, who has more than 150k followers on social media, is promoting an unusual approach to skincare - covering her face in semen.
Single mum-of-two and former glamour model Tracy Kiss says applying this inexpensive 'cosmetic' keeps her skin soft and healthy-looking.
However, the 28-year-old, from Wendover, Bucks., is keen to help others try this and has posted a tutorial vlog to explain the benefits of semen and demonstrate how to put it on, Mirror reports.
She explained she gets her daily amount from a friend who delivers it in a clean takeaway pot adding: "I am not involved in the semen extraction".
She said: "I think a lot of people are concerned with the thought of putting semen on their face but it is a very natural thing and very healthy thing to do.
"Semen builds babies, they come out very soft and have beautiful skin, and it leaves my skin nice and soft so I'm very happy to use this as a facial. It feels like a face pack that pulls the skin inwards, it feels so glossy to wipe it off.
"Its like having a kind of oil on the face or a wax where it just glides beautifully against the water. Its so cooling and soothing."
She added it should be rubbed in with a circular motion ensuring even coverage.
She then leaves it on for between five and 20 minutes before removing it with water.
Trace also claims the product has eased her rosacea - a condition she has suffered from since birth and which causes a reddening of the face, burning and spots.
She claims applying sperm gives her silky smooth skin.
