APC Member Yakubu Dogara, Objects To Gbajabiamila's Emergence As Speakership Candidate In Mock Poll

 

An aggrieved APC member, Yakubu Dogara who is also a strong contender of the House of Reps speakership seat, has released a statement objecting to Hon Gbajabiamila's emergence as APC's mock poll House of Representative speakership candidate. His statement below ...

We in the 8th Assembly Consolidation Group of Hon. Yakubu Dogara wish to state our position on the event of today Saturday 6th June 2015 as follows: That we got invitation for a meeting summoned by the APC leadership That we went to the meeting with the expectation the party wanted to give us last word ahead of Tuesday's inauguration of the House. However, we began to notice some moves in the hall where members supporting Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila started campaigning and soon we saw ballot papers being moved in the hall.

The National Chairman of the party Chief John Oyegun informed us that they were going to conduct a mock, straw or primary election. The 8th Assembly Consolidation Group mandated Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin to speak on our behalf. First, we read out the statement issued by our leader, President Muhammadu Buhari on the election of National Assembly leadership when he said: "It doesn't matter who the person is, where he or she comes from. There is due process for selection of leaders of National Assembly and I WILL NOT INTERFERE IN THAT PROCESS. Nigeria has indeed entered a new dispensation. My administration does not intend to repeat the same mistakes made by previous governments." We then told Chief Oyegun that it is either he is disagreeing with the President, undermining his stance, or does not agree that the president is the leader of the party. Secondly, we informed the party that the remaining two aspirants in the race for the Speaker are of the APC since no PDP member is contesting for the position.

We should therefore be allowed to sort it out among ourselves on Tuesday. Thirdly, if we were coming for election we ought to have been notified well ahead. We therefore view this as an ambush, manipulative and indicative of the fact that the party leadership came with a predetermined position which was skewed to favour Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila. Fourthly, we also informed the APC leadership that the process they were about doing was contrary to the provisions of the party's constitution which did not prescribe that a primary election be conducted for the Speakership, contrary to the provisions of the House Standing Orders and above all, contrary to the provisions of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The next Speaker of the House should be allowed to be elected in tandem with the constitution. Consequently, we demanded that the process be delayed with at least 24 hours to enable us to prepare and mobilise our members. After raising these objections, the national chairman Chief Oyegun did not respond to any of the points raised. Initially, the chairman agreed to halt the process but one hour later the National Vice Chairman North Senator Lawal Shuaibu came up and said the process must go on whether we like it or not. At this stage we had no option than to walkout of the hall and address the press. The election of the House Speaker is not an exclusivity of the APC but include all members from all political parties. Our position is that we are not a party to what they did and we maintain that the election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives cannot be conducted outside the chamber of the House and we are ready to participate in that process on Tuesday 9th June, 2015.

Prince George And Princess Charlotte Of Cambridge, New Pictures Released

A series of photos of Prince George and his sister Princess Charlotte have been released by Kensington Palace.

The four pictures show the princess being cradled by her elder sibling as they sit on a cream couch at Anmer Hall in Norfolk, their family home with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

The pictures were taken by Catherine just weeks after Princess Charlotte was born on 2 May.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their children have been at Anmer Hall since leaving London shortly after the birth of the princess.

Prince William and Catherine are expected to be based there for the next few years as they raise Princess Charlotte and Prince George, who is almost two, with the help of a full-time nanny.

Photography is listed as one of the duchess's hobbies in her biography on the royal website. The pictures were taken on a Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera.

The first official images of Prince George, released in 2013, were taken by the duchess's father, Michael Middleton, in the garden of their home in Bucklebury, Berkshire.

Last Friday 5th of May, it was announced Princess Charlotte will be christened on 5 July.

The christening will take place at St Mary Magdalene Church at the Queen's Sandringham estate.

Police Called After Chris Brown And Karrueche Have A Confrontation

Chris Brown's obsession with Karrueche will probably land him in hot soup. According to reports, Karreuche and her friend Christina Milian, were out at a club in LA and Chris Brown showed up at the club and sat right next to Karrueche's table which he'd booked, knowing where the girls will be sitting. This didn't go down well with Kae and as she left, drama ensued.

An attempted reunion with Karrueche Tran last night did not end well - with the singer banging on KT's front door after she kicked him out of her SUV. We're told the drama started inside Playhouse nightclub ... when Chris got the V.I.P. table next to the one Karrueche was at. It seemed she was there because her BFF Christina Milian was the host for the night ... something Chris clearly knew. We're told KT was pissed and left the club ... and Brown followed ... eventually weaseling his way into her SUV.

Apparently Chris performed a magic show inside - because he and Karrueche left together in the same SUV, leaving the Lambo behind. But pay close attention to the end of the video. One of KT's friends asks Chris to stay out of their SUV, but he tells her ... "Move to the back" ... and hops in anyway.

A second angle shows that Chris ended up squeezing on to the same seat as Karrueche. So, the question is - did she WANT him to get in, and if NOT ... why didn't SHE get out? You'll recall ... Karrueche said she was done with Chris for good when baby Royalty hit the scene.

Our sources connected to Karrueche say KT did NOT want him inside - and dropped him off with his friends a short time later. Which is why she was even more upset when he showed up on her doorstep around 3:30 am - banging and yelling, clearly trying to get KT to open up.

Tran ultimately left her home - and went to the famous Norm's Diner. Brown showed up a short time later. Once inside, we're told they began to argue and it escalated into a full-blown shouting match. Eventually, Karrueche left the restaurant and returned home - without Chris. Bottom line - don't expect a reconciliation any time soon.

Update
A police car pulled up outside Karrueche's house early this morning while Chris was there. Law enforcement sources tell us someone called cops to complain about the noise Chris and co. were making at her door.

We're told officers spoke to Chris and Karrueche, but there was no evidence of a crime ... so no tickets, no arrests.

FIFA President Sepp Blatter has been named as a former lover of model Irina Shayk in a bombshell story which is making headlines across the world.

Spanish daily El Mundo made the sensational claim about the roving-eyed football chief and Cristiano Ronaldo's ex girlfriend in a piece published yesterday titled 'All the women in Blatter's life.'

It declared the 79-year-old 'had a relationship' with the Russian beauty after dating tennis player Ilona Boguska but before meeting glamourous Linda Barras, 50.
El Mundo's claims about Blatter and Shayk - a guest of Prince Charles at a recent Buckingham Palace party - were being echoed across the world today.

Horrified Couple Find Dead Lizard Inside Canned Tomato Sauce

I thought stuff like this only happen in Africa. Alas i was wrong because Britain was stunned when a horrified couple found a dead baby lizard inside a can of tomatoes as they cooked lunch.

Muhammad Hussain and his wife Sanam bought the tomatoes from a local supermarket and opened the can to make the gruesome discovery.

Euro Foods, which owns the supermarket, has apologised for the couple's grim find and has launched an investigation.

Muhammad was alerted by his seven-month pregnant wife's screams as she opened the tin at their home in Birmingham.

He told the BBC: "My wife was making lunch for me and our 15-month-old son. When she opened the can, she saw something and screamed at me to come through. I saw it was a dead baby lizard.

Immigration Officials Shocked To Find 68 People Sealed In A Shipping Container

Sixty-eight suspected illegal immigrants, including two pregnant women and 15 children, have been found inside four different Vessel freight containers at a port in Essex.

They were found during routine Border Force checks at Harwich International Port at about 22:00 BST on Thursday.

Thirty-five people from Afghanistan, 22 from China, 10 from Vietnam and one Russian were discovered.

Seven people were rushed to hospital, including the two mothers-to-be, and 61 others assessed at the scene by paramedics, who received a tip-off at around 10 pm.

Police said 53 adults and 15 children were discovered huddling in the dark during a routine inspection of shipping containers at Harwich International Port in Essex.

Investigators revealed this morning that they have arrested four Polish lorry drivers on suspicion of immigration offences.

A bride-to-be refused to walk down the aisle until her future hubby coughed up the cash for a boob job.

The 29-year-old bride Meryl Clarke developed a thyroid condition that saw her losing seven stone in just six months, she was left with saggy skin which she feared would ruin her big day because her breasts looked like a flabby potato sack. So when the 29-year-old had her boyfriend Luke Clarke pop the question on New Year's Eve in 2013, she was torn.

On one hand, she could not wait to marry the man of her dreams - but on the other, she knew her body, which dropped from 20 stone to 13, would bother her.

Meryl, from Leicester, said: "When Luke proposed I was happy but I imagined I'd be walking down the aisle smiling on the outside but not on the inside.

"Even just wearing normal clothes I had to put socks in my bra and pull my tights up to my armpits and I couldn't do that in a wedding dress.

"I was left with flabs of skin hanging from my tummy, arms and legs and my boobs were like empty flaps of skin, they were awful. "I spent many days crying myself to sleep because my body was literally eating itself.

"I had the body of an old woman, my boobs were like empty flaps of skin, I looked 80 from the neck down. "I had no breast tissue and this large apron of skin, if I ran it would make a clapping sound.

Meryl planned to raise the money to pay for the operation herself but as an early wedding present for his new bride-to-be, Luke agreed to stump up the cash for a tummy tuck and surgery to take her AA boobs to a DD.

Delighted with her new dream body, Meryl finally walked down the aisle and married Luke at a ceremony in Rothley Court, Leicester, last month.

Mariah Carey's brother fears her drinking will kill her, claiming the star could end up like doomed singer, Whitney Houston.

Carey's brother, Morgan - who hasn't spoken to the singer in two years - fears the star is unable to care for her four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe because he believes she is trying to numb her problems with alcohol.

Father Executes Whole family, Then Self After Googling Depression And How To Slit Human Throats

A father stabbed his wife and two daughters to death after researching how to cut someone's throat - then lived with their bodies for a weekend before hanging himself, an inquest has heard. The bodies of Jitendra Lad, 49, his wife, Dukshaben Lad, 44, and their daughters, Trisha, 19, and Nisha, 16, were discovered at their home in Clayton, Bradford, last October - days after celebrating Diwali as a family.

Mr. Lad was found hanged and the three other members of the 'model' family had all been stabbed in their beds with a knife, in what a coroner described as a 'scene of unimaginable horror'.

Bradford Coroner's Court heard that Mrs. Lad, also known as Daksha, and her two daughters were probably killed in the early hours of Saturday October 25. But Mr. Lad was seen by a number of people later the same weekend and probably killed himself on the Monday afternoon, two days later, the court heard.

The hearing was told how Mr. Lad had no medical history of mental illness and relatives and friends said they appeared to be a normal, loving family.

But Detective Sergeant Duncan Jackson told the hearing in Bradford how Mr. Lad had accessed the internet on his phone in the weeks before his death to research depression and, just days before the tragedy, he searched 'how to cut someone's throat and executions'.

The hearing also heard that Mr. Lad had been stressed at work as an IT manager, and was concerned he had been overpromoted. Det. Sgt Jackson however told the court about an incident in Ibiza in August 2014 when the family was on holiday. He said a woman, Lee Cartwright, told officers about a conversation she had with Mr. Lad by a swimming pool in which he said he 'disliked his current job and wanted to do something better'. She said he went on to say how he was 'dreading turning 50', said he did not like Bradford and wanted to live abroad but had a duty of care to his mother. According to the police officer, 'Mrs. Cartwright was left with the impression Jitendra was unhappy with his life'.
